Least with Samsung phones you will be able to use normal headphones instead...least they will have their headphone jack ugh

Look crap, overpriced, will sound rubbish like any Apple wireless 'Beats' will do.

And no.. it is PURE CLICKBAIT to claim Samsung has somehow copied Apple....

As for the battery life, what do people expect? Do you think by some MIRACLE Apple will give you 8 hours battery life from a battery the same size or smaller as in the Apple watch? Whilst constantly using wireless streaming and audio amplification?
Whoa wait, where did the article say this is an example of unoriginality? That would be pretty unprofessional to editorialize like that if they're going to pass themselves off as a news source (yes, it's a blog - kind of tired of giving blog sites a free pass considering many of us get some sort of current events from these sites in 2016).

I'm sure they see their main competition as Apple. They get it out 1st, that's the important part.
*unimportant

Being first has gotten this company nowhere. You don't establish a base just by being first - there needs to be quality. Innovation isn't about being first, it's about being the first to get it right. And once you get it right, everyone tries to mimic you, even unintentionally because innovating means setting a standard. Apple does this all the time. Samsung releases a piece of plastic, discontinues it after a month, releases a second version, discontinues it, releases a third one, and hopefully they figure out what their customers liked and figured out better manufacturing processes for better materials while maintaining acceptable dimensions...This happens in one year. Gear. Gear 2. Gear 20. Up until the S7, there's always been something about their products that comes off as "unfinished".

Why shoehorn in internal memory? Nobody wants that. Compared to those of us who would prefer a better battery. Just comes off as another example of Samsung beta testing features on their customers only to abandon the product in a year or so. And I'm a fan of theirs in many ways. I've owned an S3, S6 (or S5?), Note 3, Note 5. Held on to the Note 3 for a long time. Between the operating system being way buggy - and people who complain about iOS 7-9 got lucky or never owned an Android phone. Always buggy, rarely updated, stuttery, very hot, scaled software. They just aren't very thoughtful of the user experience after a sale is made.

The only way $199 for 1.5hrs is a win is if you're the one getting paid - not the other way around.

Call me in in 5 years when (and if) these things have a halfway usable battery life (i.e. 4hrs+).

Battery life is 1 hour and 30 minutes??? Seriously??? Samsung can be so out of touch sometimes...

3.6 not streaming. Not to mention these are designed mainly with workout purposes in mind and 1.5 hours would be long enough for most peoples workouts. That battery life is still pretty weak but workable. Hope they sound good cuz there not giving them away.

It'll be interesting to see where these go in coming iterations.

Where I'd like to see Apple "innovate" is in audio quality. I don't care about shaking up the design, or wireless earbuds. I want a significantly better baseline audio experience right out of the box from Apple.

"Fitness bands currently comprise more than 50 percent of the wrist-worn device market"

Apple need to hurry up and compete for this large piece of the pie. I'd love an Apple fitness band.

These don't look that bad at all. But I'm sceptical about the audio quality, and the battery life is pretty much killing all it's appeal. Like seriously, only 1,5 hours? That pretty much renders them useless in any situation for me.

It's not like I would normally use them for over 1,5 hours a time, but I commute for over 1,5 hours every day so being forced to charge them in between my commutes in order to be sure that I would have battery life on them sounds horrible.

I would be okay with about 6-hours. But 1,5 hours?...

Does anyone on this site ever read the article before spouting? The battery lasts only 1.5 hours

Why not read the article again and take on board, this product is specifically aimed at fitness community, that being those working out, with heart rate monitoring etc. Battery lasts 1.5 hours when all streaming, monitoring going on and nearly four hours when just listening to onboard music. Plenty enough for any workout. This product does not exist because Apple are removing the headphone jack. There are plenty of other more suitable solutions to that problem, should it be needed., as well as those who have a long commute.

The case for them also provides two full charges.

Sorry NOPE...why would one want to buy these cheap af looking earbuds.
Just buy the original Bragi and you'll get 3 hours of battery including up to 5 charges in the case. And much more.
But what did we expect from Samesung...****ing idiots.

I'll stick with wired. 1.5 hours of battery life is not something I would be able to get use to.

All we needed was 1 more thing to charge...

SMH

Glad to see a major player in the game. Maybe the connectivity issues have been fixed compared to other brands.

But that battery life though... Really? I've made potato clocks with better battery chemistry.

Just that they (Samsung) aren't. Bragi - the startup - has shipped theirs since January
For twice the price?

No beef either way, as I am not the target audience, but seems Samsung are offering much the same thing for a lot less.

so now apple come out with their own for the iPhone 7 series.....

how the tables have turned on innovation, apple is the one playing catch up now.

Yes, because only from today they will start development of those rumoured headphones. Literally now while I'm writing those lines, not before but now that they have seen this article they will start.

People smashing these but let's be real, if apple are working on similar I bet it'll have less internal memory but be thinner and have around the same battery life.

Oh and they'd cost more.

I'm sure they see their main competition as Apple. They get it out 1st, that's the important part.

Yet, they almost look identical to the Dash with all the same functions. Coincidence? I think not.

I wouldn't even be surprised if Apples Pods (if they come) are very similar. Bragi introduced their concept a loooong time ago...

Ladies and Gentleman! Samsung finally releases an original product!

Just that they didn't.

Since when is 299 twice as much as 199?

Also, are the Samsung Ear pods waterproof (honest question because I don't know)? 1.5 hrs battery vs. 3 hrs? So where exactly are they offering the same thing for a LOT less?

The IconX earbuds... use hooks to securely fit into an ear.
The accessory hooks are not visible in the OP, but are included in the case.

Yes because Apple just saw these headphones and now is going to build their own headphones, just in time for September. Especially with the awesome and mind boggling 1.5 hours of battery.

Also quite funny because i see other companies playing catch up with the stuff that actually matters.

Apple Pay, Touch ID, 3D Touch, USBC,
[doublepost=1464946524][/doublepost]
It is more than just a earbuds people seem to overlook:

And most important of all:

So if you put your own music on the 4GB storage you have 03:30 hrs. of playing time - which is plenty.

Be fair :)

Nobody is going to put music in their headphones. 1.5 hours is a joke.

I bet this is off of the rumor that Apple is making some just like these....

1 and a half hours battery life? Hahahahahahaha

I would not laugh too hard, it's based on current tech and if an apple version is made, it will be smaller, look better and have less battery.

and cost more.

gear S2 for one is one product that has far better battery life and costs half the price of the apple watch which has worse battery life for example

Well the writer of the article did say:

Samsung's Gear IconX earbuds come as rumors suggest Apple is preparing to remove the headphone jack from its iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus devices, set to be released this fall. There have also been rumors indicating Apple is working on its own set of wireless Bluetooth earphones that would be sold alongside the iPhone 7 as a premium accessory with many of the same features in the IconX.

Which is MORE then enough to get the people round here slamming Samsung for 'un-originality' and 'Samesung are copycat' comments....
