You will have to wait a few years till we get the wide spread enough to use it. By that time the iPhone will adopt it.

I do not need to wait a single day. I can just buy an AC-capable wireless router which are sold at the Best Buy near your (and me). And Samsung phones wil probably be able to use it to communicate with each other.

Is Android OS a puzzle? It seems to be, where each manufacturer can take it and cut up the pieces even smaller to make it more of a challenge for the user, who then feel "rewarded", allowing them to brag about their proficiency in solving it, when they've run out of specs to crow about with their peers... LOL

Phablet idea:

The Galaxy Boat III: It doubles as a dinghy, and comes with virtual, touch-sensitive colour crayons so you can fill in the "Touchwiz" icons, after having revealed them one by one in a "memory game" type puzzle, which seems to be a daily puzzle anyway for S3/Note II owners, so may as well "market" it eh... :S

Variation on above: Once you have correctly revealed the icons, they randomly shuffle themselves into a new position, ready for the next icon-placement-memory-game go, tomorrow!

I love the dual camera and the IR blaster...I think they are both great additions.

One thing Samsung is doing a great job. Pretty sad how slow Apple updates features for the camera. At this rate its going to look something like this.

iPhone 5 - panorama mode
iPhone 5S - burst mode
iPhone 6 - timer mode
iPhone 7 - filters
iPhone 7S - dual camera
iPhone 8 - 360 panorama

lol

At home yes, everywhere else, not so much.

Finally! Samsung is going to release us all from the drudgery of touching the screen. We can at long last let our weary fingers rest and no longer have to travel that enormous distance to the front of the phone.

You know what is really ironic? When iphone had the first responsive touch screen for screen typing and screen gestures, everyone said it's a fail. It didn't have a real keyboard like a blackberry or samsung device because it lacked tactile feel.

Now everyone is making touch screen devices only. Well, I guess touch screen devices are not good enough we have to hover our fingers over the screen to do the swiping gestures. You see, the point is these are just gimmick features. They are great to show off that drunk person next to you at the bar. It's a magic trick that is really pathetic because I do not see how air gestures can be more useful than actually touching your screen to interface.

Maybe this will solve the wearing gloves while using touch screen issues? You guys need to see thru the smoke screen - samsung really has no idea what they are doing; these features are just added on because what else are you going to add?

iPhone 9 - you can use it to call people

The fact that this phone's screen has the same resolution as my TV is a little mind-blowing. Being able to put a full HD video on my phone without having to scale it down first would be pretty cool.

It's useless extra resolution. I can't imagine that you can see the difference side by side at a regular viewing distance. But what you will get is bigger files to take up more memory, but I guess that's where the microSD might come in handy...

Apple is hanging on to the smartphone market by a thread, a name, and an IOS. Sorry, but the hardware on this is WAY better than the iPhone 5. Apple is "stuck on thin" and its beyond annoying. They are destroying their mac lines slowly and I suspect the next iPhone will look very similar to the last iPhone. Seriously, who will buy an iPhone 5s that looks like an iPhone 5? If not for IOS, I would be on the galaxy.

Seriously, this. Not so much iOS (stale and boring and unfun) but the app store.

Google should make their own Google desert theme park...

That would actually be kinda sick.

Sick, you say? Vomit, yes, as desserts followed by theme park rides kinda doesn't work too well, but hey - a flourescent vomit of colour seems to appeal to S3 owners, so maybe you're onto something! :p

Apple should try to exit the smart phone business and save some face while they still have some pride.

No way can they withstand the assault that Samsung is going to provide with their ever more impressive innovations.

The iPhone survived so long thanks to gimmicks, but its not getting it done anymore. Apple will be smart to enter some other market segment like smart watches.

This comment is beyond ridiculous. I think you mixed up the brand names. Samsung is the one with the stupid gimmicks. Get it straight. I don't need ANY of these stupid "new" features. My iPhone works beautifully and I don't have to worry about getting viruses. Have fun with you "PC" experience in a smartphone...

I am very exited for this phone to come out. Apple seriously needs to react to this instead of keep bashing them and lose market share.

No Apple doesn't need to react to anything. Designing and releasing to react is a disaster. Especially given that everyone will see it is a reaction and bash them for it.

If anyone has an issue with Apple's path, schedule etc they can go buy something else

WTF is the point of putting 1080p on a phone? that just kills the battery faster take performance away compared to if it was at 720p. The battery can be so much better if they stick with 720p.

I said the same thing when the new iPad upped it's resolution. At the same time it
1) Quadrupled it's GPU power
2) Doubled it's battery capacity
And the end result was an iPad that performed the same as the old one and had exactly the same battery life - but it had a higher ppi. I wish someone would hold back somewhat to save the battery life at least.

plastic? :)
i am not a big fan of samsung but well, im sure no one was expecting a walking, talking, flying phone
its good enough for those who like it.
these phone releases are more becoming like stock market. analysts or rumour sites create crazy expectations and then see them deflated on their release and complaint about the spec

Aside from the dual camera (which is pretty useless IMHO) the rest can be done via one of the many high quality photo apps on iOS.

You think it would be a good thing for consumers if Apple built the most full-featured camera app into iOS, killing the third-party camera app market? This would result in less consumer choice, not more.

The analogy is bogus. Samsung is not the only company that manufactures all the components that you mentioned. Except for OLED screens. Manufacturing capacity for OLED is still very limited.

My point is that Apple could well purchase all of Samsung's capacity if it wanted to, and Samsung may well oblige. After all, most of Samsung's volume is at the lower end, which probably doesn't care as much.

Apple has been on a color gamut kick lately. AMOLED displays tend to be oversaturated. The displays Apple uses in the rMBP and iPhone tend to be very close to the sRGB standard, much more so than typical OLED displays. While I don't doubt supply plays a role, I also wonder to what extent color gamut plays a role as well.

Yep, no idea at all. They came out of nowhere to become the number one smartphone manufacturer.

'atta boy! shouldda kept your flip phone, 'cause it never needed no stinkin' 4g or LTE.

Don't give up that flint in your pocket, either....

Okay so a clear Mac user is making fun of me because I do like my Apple product a lot that he thinks by looking me down will make me switch to an Android because he compares the iPhone 4 to a flint? I make you are probably an avid Mac user because of your name but is this the way you influence people to stay with Apple?
