*Sigh*
Tizen OS's have always used round icons. maybe Apple copied Samsung here ;)

Looks like Android is going to flood the market with watches just like they do with phones! YAY! Then we can hear about how Android wear is outselling the competition 135 to 1.

Quality over Quantity. I guess that has been forgotten.

This isn't an Android watch.

I don't get the desire for a circular watch. Sure, historically watches have been circular (although my previous watch a Tissot was actually square too) but it makes no sense to maintain circular styles for a smart watch.

Does your smartphone bear any resemblance to the original telephone?

It's a waste of screen estate and if you have a digital numerical face it's even more absurd to keep it circular.

Watches were circular in form due to the hands having a fixed length. Absent that constraint there is no compelling reason for a circular form except a form-factor compromise made for retro style.

BT 4.1 is what gives it a bit longer battery life. I get about a day and a half with my 42 mm SS... so with an update to BT 4.1 I could see 2-3. However, absent battery life, this watch is extremely limited. A rotating bezel isn't as good of an idea as a Digital Crown, as rotating the bezel would block the screen. Only Tizen apps and Samsung phones that don't sell very well. Wake me up when they have some apps. Also, round smart watches are a terrible idea. These aren't mechanical watches, they display digital content. Do you want a round monitor too?

This Samsung watch looks like a high end piece of time keeping engineering and design.
You forgot /s tag.

for many of us, wearing a watch is more "jewelry" than functionality. the Look is very important. And some of us just preffer the classic round. thats all it is. Personal preference.

I've worn a certain style watch my whole life. I don't like square. The Apple watch is a well built smartwatch. But it still is square, and to me, still feels geeky and not quite "jewelry" enough for me.
If I want jewelry then I'll just wear a traditional watch or a bracelet. Smart watches in real life, especially when not showing a faux analog watch face don't look like jewelry to me anyway. The only time they do is in PR renders that are heavily photoshopped to look like an analog watch.

I'd like to get the Samsung watch that they're going to continue to back after three months...oh wait that doesn't exist.

This is my problem with Samsung watches...they release them with no real intention of following through with them. Wait one more year and they'll be releasing their 12th generation watch. Only if I were gushing with money to upgrade every few months would I buy any Samsung watch..no matter how nice it may look.

and thats why I still haven't been able to buy a smart watch. Not a single one has given me the look / feel enough to replace my analogue watch. Was impressed with the LG Urbane till i saw one in person. They're 'close', but still don't look classic enough. the lugs are too big, the bezel is too big. Although, in person, the screen doesn't look too bad, though not on par with the screen on the Apple Watch.

Waiting to see the HUawei watch in person. The screen on that one is supposed to be better.

T-Mobile is offering an add-on plan for $5 a month for the 3G version.
Pretty cheap.

As for the round display, I've had a Moto 360 since December. You get used to it pretty quick.
Reading text on it is easier than reading text on my wife's 38mm Apple Watch.
Love the Apple Watch features, just not a fan of the pill box shape.
Why people nowadays want to pay a monthly fee for everything? It happened with video games, listening to music, and now to know the time, and not taking your smartphone out of the pocket?

Jony Ive and his cohorts must be hitting the pub soon to drown their sorrows because there's just no coming back from this knockout punch. 302 ppi, Tizen OS, 1 GHz dual core processor, Samsung Pay, S Health activity tracking dust, IP68 and water resistance. So much win for such a small product. Just look at that gorgeous design. Those Korean designers are something else. That round display is tons more elegant than that iWatch thing. Such a natural display for displaying notifications and text.

This is Korean ingenuity, people. This is Samsung Gear S2.

Just now that iOS 9 is coming with ad blockers...

Looks nice. Considering that the main purpose of these things is to give you easier notifications, the round screen doesn't seem like a problem. It's not like anyone needs to run complicated apps on them.

Tizen. who the hell wants to develop for Tizen?

I love developing for Tizen! It is a brilliant platform for Samsung (TM) products! The new Samsung Galaxy Gear S2 Smartwatch is an extremely intelligent smart watch! Smarter than Apple Watch!

Tizen is a brilliant Operating System with over 40 applications! The native Samsung API is great for developing software!

I am in no way affiliated with Samsung Electronics! I am not paid by Samsung to post about Tizen OS (TM)! I am just a developer passionate about the awesome Operating System, Tizen!

What a joke. Looking forward to Samsung shooting themselves in the foot by going 'only Tizen' for all their smartphones.

"For the past several years, Samsung has pioneered and advanced the wearables category... "

I wonder what pills they take before they have enough courage and face to say this in public..

Oh well money probably, they get paid plenty.

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.” -- Joseph Goebbels, Reich Minister of Propaganda in Nazi Germany from 1933 to 1945.

What are you hiding, Samsung?
- The cost of 3G service and availability of carriers?
- Another data plan to worry about?
- 2 to 3 days battery? Really?
- Maybe with 3G, WiFi and Bluetooth turned completely off, so it's no big deal.
- Round display?
For an analog watch, great!
For displaying user data, calendar, emails, etc., not good plus too small!

Nice looking but with poor real use.

well.. Apple, looks like u have some competition...

I had a feeling someone would improve a better battery experience than the Apple watch, Thanks to Samsung :)

I like the Classic though. but 3G one is also a winner in my book.

And we all though square was good..... Round is not that bad either.. I bet users would not want to say "no i still prefer the :apple:Watch"
Do you own one? Because i'm in my third day of wearing it (without charging) and still have 15%

They're even uglier in person. I'd pay money NOT to wear it, I'd be embarrassed to have that on my wrist in public.

That along with its inflated price tag, terrible battery life, required cell phone and it's inevitable irrelevancy after 12 months when the new one comes out and the old one can't get updates.

USELESS. And more of a headache than anything. It doesn't solve any problems especially since I've already got a cell phone on me at all times.

Clearly, you don't know what you're talking about. The consumer obviously doesn't agree with being "embarrassed" at wearing since it's sold millions in the first 4 months. I get many inquiries about mine and the comments are "that's very cool".
Battery life has not been a problem for me. It's also irrelevant that it's tethered to the phone. That's what so many detractors don't understand. Plus, Watch OS2 promises more independent functions. I don't understand the your comment about it being a "headache." It's incredibly simple to use. It's seamless and it's convenience makes it worth the price.
Haters gonna hate!
