LMAO at people that say AirPods are ugly! Now you can appreciate the technology apple packs in such a slim light weight profile instead of these monstrosities! Haha!

I've got a pair of the original version which I only use for running and they're excellent for that - the built in memory means I can play music without my Phone (I use a Garmin running watch) and they are very small and very comfortable.

I've also got a pair of AirPods which are much better for general use, but the Icons beat the AirPods hands down for running IMO

Everyone making fun of the pink I don't get it. I think they would look good on girls at least? Vs. ipods you can get in one colour or way over pay for aftermarket painted one. I rather have a choice than no choice? Weird. Probably a bunch of people in here that would buy pink air pods for themselves or partner if they existed but because Samsung did it first it's awful?

Agreed. I use the iconx daily and they work perfectly fine. I do not get why people degrade other products without using them. Strange to me.

Samsung Watches still qualifies as a competitor product to Apple. Especially given that the releasing their LTE version of a Watch weeks before Apple likely is as well. Furthermore, it's also nice to read about other competitor the news on MacRumors versus frequenting other tech sites that report the same things.

In wearables, they're a footnote, not a competitor. Also, if I was the least bit interested in their products, I would certainly look elsewhere than Macrumors.

More the other way around, I think. AirPods just make you look very silly. The whole point of going wireless is to hide the ear pieces, and these do just that.

Erm, not really. The whole point of going wireless is to be... wire-less. Meaning there are no wires.

Sure, having the earpieces hidden is a nice benefit, but seeing as how there are plenty of massive over-the-ear wireless headphones out there, I would say that your assessment is incorrect.

Sorry to say... these earbuds are way better than apples airpods...
Just check out the capabilities....
tracks health.. stores music all standalone...plus everything else airpods can do... plus it does not have that odd qtip sticking out of the ear.
Give credit where credit is due.
Id buy them If they had the Apple logo on them .

I have NEVER liked Apple headphones, and I never will.

They just don't fit right, nor sound as good as rubbery-tipped ones (probably because they don't fit me right).

I also like the built-in loops on these; makes it easy to tether them so you don't lose them during strenuous activities and the like, but makes them discrete for calmer ones when the tether is unnecessary.

In regards to color, I'm not a fan of bright pink but I can see it'd be useful if you drop one (easy to spot).

I find it amusing that the fans of the most feminine-looking devices are complaining about pink headphones...

Can't really compare the two since they cater to different segments of consumers.

What one colour option??

You referenced "potty" I just assumed you were calling an unreleased product you've never used bad because you have the option of buying it in pink.

If I misunderstood my apologies.

Slightly disagree. Direct competition against each other, they're not related as they are different operating platforms. But in technological Advancments they are competitors, to see were both leading with health advancements or other capabilities.

Again, Macrumors doesn't just report 'Apple' related news. They report news from products and competitors all alike. If you want to look elsewhere, you have that option. But a lot of sites rehash the same details. Macrumors reports Samsung news regularly with the release of the Galaxy S8, Note, Watch, etc.

Airpods are silly looking... and dont have some of the capabilities of these airpods..
To call these monstrosity is nothing but an indication of being a blind fanboy .

Best designed digital stylus, mouse, battery pack and smartphone camera lens?

At least, those don't look as half bad as this:

Yup and it's on both sides of the fence. Android users can be just as bad. Always refreshing to find impartial people who look at products based on how they actually work and not based on a brand or operating system. Especially if they never actually try those other brands or operating systems products. I mean unless you have a large stake in one of those companies it makes no sense to me.

I don't see one example of bad design here. All of these are examples of design/form following function. There is no other/better way to quickly charge a pencil/stylus while on the go or away from a charger. Why compromise the design of a wireless mouse 99,9% of the time (i.e. while in use) with a front connector if you can hide the connector and make a short break while it charges? The battery case feels amazing in hand. And a bulge is a small price to pay for a better camera. Think different.

To each his own. I think these are MUCH more appealing looking than the Airpods. The watches on the other hand...

The more smartwatches are released, the more the design work of Ive&Newson on the Apple Watch feels just "right" and timeless (pun intended).

The more smartwatches are released, the more I realize they are pointless except for niche purposes where you need to see notifications immediately and on a regular basis.

That cable charging in the bottom of the mouse and pen sticking out of an ipad?! Is this for real? Do i use the mouse upside down as it charges? Utter *****. Whoever did that should be fired.

The new samsung watch is sea water resistant and water resistant to several atmospheres. Something new to the table...

Yes, they do, but why? IMO they shouldn't, or at least just very rarely and only about major products, i.e. a new Galaxy S or Note. I come here for Apple news and rumors only, there are enough general tech sites/blogs around for other stuff. But it's all about maximizing content and engagement, I guess.

I got the level pro earphones from ebay super good price. UHD 24 bit audio over bluetooth sound great on my FLAC files from HDtracks and the boston symphony orchestra. Really nice sound.

I use a samsung phone but keep an ear in here as I have an ipad mini 2 I love and may upgrade it if apple haven't killed the mini off completely....tbh this is my go to tech site now as it has all kinds of tech news :)

I don't like the way those Watches look at all. I can appreciate the round design, but those look very minimalistic for Those who may appreciate that.

The Gear S3 Frontier had a bold style to it that I found more appealing:

they make up for the minimalist style by having a wealth of custom faces. I think it works well

This is Macrumors mission statement, which specifically states:

"MacRumors attracts a broad audience of both consumers and professionals interested in the latest technologies and products. We also boast an active community focused on purchasing."

Even the their mission statement states that they don't discuss strictly "Apple products". They also discuss the latest technologies and products which is generally abroad. That's the one thing I like about MacRumors, as I don't have to visit multiple sites that literally rehash the same topics over. And most of the other text sites are riddled which annoying advertisements, which MacRumors isn't nearly as obtrusive as other sites are.
