Splitscreen would be a nice feature. But this ad is just awful. Like a movie with big red letters on the cover.

The last thing you could bash about the ipad is the screen. Don't see what more you could want from it?

The retina ipad minis screen leaves a lot to be desired. Poor contrast, low color gamut compared to even other lcds. The nexus 7 2013 has nearly twice the contrast ratio and a much better color gamut.

Nice try Samsung, but:

  • Not made by Apple
  • Does not run iOS

No chance.

.. even if you integrated 4K TV, coffee machine and a lunar lander to it.

Wonder how long it takes for Samsung to finally realize that its not about the specs.

I'd love super AMOLED panel on my ipad but I'm going to support apple by saying no I don't really want super AMOLED.

Yes, telling someone the product they use is inferior is exactly the same as telling someone they're stupid for choosing to purchase said product. Thanks for clearing that up.
And you need to portrait pc users as nerdy fat naive people for that? How about you take those thick Apple fanboy googles off and stop appying double standards.

Really, Samsung, Really? You have to go even further from bashing your competitors to actually faking your advertisements by simulating the video? Now that reaches in a special kind of stupid in me in terms of advertising. Good luck getting me to buy your products, when you lie to your customers in advertising.

Anybody else getting right click menu popups when they tap to play YouTube videos like these on their iPad (I have an iPad mini if it matters)? Didn't have this problem yesterday.

I did have the same problem yesterday but I can't seem to replicate the issue today.

All I've done is switch off the iPad overnight, I don't think that fixed it but it was worth mentioning.

Probably it has to do with the HTML 5 video coding.

To be fair, they didn't portray the user as a fat nerd, the portrayed the PC itself as fat and nerdy. Big difference.

@samsung try saving these failed ads money and rescue your profits. Samsung just showing how panicky and desperate they getting only going to make their investors to panic and their stock to drop. If I was an investor in samsung I would start selling. LOL , Wait until Apple releases thier upcoming devices soon. :D

These desperate confusing ads are not going to stop your decline in profits Samsing.

You will continue your multi-quarter slide until you create something truly great that people want.

Samsung tablets with split screen ?

Not gonna save you any more than those silly ads that tried to convince us that young people preferred Galaxy phones.

Remember that? And then all the stats prove teenagers and young people in the US vastly prefer iPhones.

Samsung's ads feel like their wishes of how people think and behave.

#word:rolleyes:

LOL Samsung talking about the battery life and now the display , even thought their super amoled display isn't better at all . The white colors have a green tint , colors are over saturated and inaccurate ,the display is noisy , and it will always show pixelation on images even when those are in hd. Plus they don't feel high quality displays compared to iPad's retina display.

Sure, two different people watching two different video streams (who gets the audio?) is a totally realistic scenario.
Daft question. The Samsung has stereo, you know. So it has two speakers? Now just give each stream one speaker and you're both happy. Sure it's only mono, but I'm sure the next tablet will have 4 speakers so you both get stereo.

Lol the fanboys really are getting angry. Great ads just to see the reaction of insecure pimple faced teenagers on this forum. Lmao

Have we really gotten to the point where nitpicking the contrast ratio and type of pixels in the LCD is an important consumer feature?

Yes it may be to some on here, but the vast majority of people who will be exposed to these ads will not have a clue what the advantages to either of these 'features' are, nor will they care.

Technical jargon to this extent is such a poor form of advertisement.

I just bought the new galaxy s tab and I cant tell you how many compliments I get for the screen quality.

I could care less about samsung vs apple but we all know damn well samsung makes by far the best displays out there.

Just do a search of all the people complain the mac books didn't get a samsung screen vs an lg.

The screens in the new Samsung tablets are by far the best displays ever made period.

Go to your local best buy and play one of the hd movies that comes on the tablet and see for yourself. It also plays the movies full screen with no black bars!

The iPad Air uses Samsung and Sharp panels. So really what Samsung are doing is insulting their own product.

Until Apple does it in 2015 and then it's innovative, right?

Do you have zero imagination?

-airplane
-video conference
-multi-angle videos
-showing two different finalizations of edited videos in a pitch meeting or really any type of video comparisons (before/after form of baseball swing)

No need to be so defensive. There are many people that have no need for split screen or multitasking, you don't need to convince them all. I see the limited size of the screen as a serious impediment to well executed multitasking.

In any case if and when Apple introduces it, it will be easy to ignore for those people that do not need it. As long as Apple gives us a choice they can implement it for all I care. I will not use it.

This is so true. How often have I've been cursing my iPad that I could not watch Game of Thrones while my kids watched Jake and the Neverland Pirates on the same screen. We would be a much happier family, I guess.

Split screen would be awesome.

Email on one and Internet on other. I can see lots of other users. I wouldn't be bashing a feature like that.

I totally agree.

But this is Apple. I really love this company but for Apple it is always "only one feature at a time".
I mean after 4 years of iPad we still don't have split screen?

Apple does wait to long with their new features/ideas. I have one sad example: Expose. We all love it and it is one of the killer features in OS X since Panther.
Why is "Expose" not part of iOS since say iOS 3 or 4?
Yes now it is part of iOS, but only after Android has introduced a (nearly) same feature.

PS: The Samsung commercial is stupid. Addressing split screen issue is nice (sadly true, but Apple needs competition) but the implementation in the spot is stupid.

Big difference. PC was the funny human guy. And it was pretty good-natured. And true enough in most people's experience that the ads and the iPod and iMac were bringing people in. PC still owns the market, there's just rivals.

Same result. Apple took the piss out of PCs. And some if those ads were quite insulting to PC users. Yeah as an apple fan they were funny, as a PC user they were insulting and some of them were frankly BS just like the samsung ads

Apple were the master io this form of advertising, and Samsung are just copying them.
