I've never understood the point of these adverts.
Sure, it shows how Samsung differentiates, but surely just laying into your opponent like that is weak minded marketing?

But hey, I'm a university student with an iPhone. What do I know?

Just like the I'm a Mac ads?

I do think iOS should have multi tasking on the iPad. I don't know how well it works on the Samsung, but I do hope Apple thinks of a good way of doing it.

The inability to have a Skype video conversation (whilst seeing the video) while browsing the web is quite a big limitation to me. It can be very useful to see two things simultaneously in countless situations, especially if the iPad aims to replace computers for many people.

Does Samsung have the ability to create an ad where they don't bash Apple? You'd think the so called "market leader" would be capable of something like that.

Their ads reflect what seems to me to be a lack of identity. This lack of self identity is why they have such difficulty resonating with people from a marketing perspective. People have trouble making an emotional connection to Samsung because Samsung exudes no traits that people can relate to. (Incidentally, this lack of self identity seems to pervade into their product development culture. They have countless models of smartphones with countless number of features. In other words, they through everything they can at the wall and whatever sticks wins.)

Contrast that with Apple ads. From "Think Different":

"Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes."

Even if you didn't like the ads or don't like Apple, everyone can at least recognize that there was a time in their lives where they were the round peg in the world of square holes.

And how about the "Misunderstood" ad that ran during Xmas? Family, holidays, pictures, videos. We all can relate to that.

Even the "I'm a Mac, I'm a PC" ads.. Mac was portrayed as the down to earth, jean wearing, average every day guy. Do people see themselves as jeans guy or do they see themselves as the guy in a tan suite?

This approach really isn't any different than what some other powerful brands do. Take for example, Nike. "Just Do It."

I suppose a phablet (that I would need a man purse to be able to carry around) is useful for being able to crop an image of Lebron so I can overlay that on a background pic of clouds. For the life of me, I have no idea why anyone would want to do that - basketball fans would find the notion entirely stupid. But hey, that's Samsung's way of making an emotional connection.

From my perspective, they would have been better off having Lebron running around all day using a Samsung phone to manage his life including keeping track of his schedule and then talking to his kids. We are not all Lebron but most of us have busy schedules and have families that we are eager to keep in touch with.

Who the hell does Samsung's voice-over work? he's absolutely terrible.

I prefer to watch movies and sports on my TV, sometimes using my Apple TV. I can then use my iPhone or iPod to multi task if I want.

Samsung a stylus isn't something you've got over Apple, if people do want one there are compatible stylus options available for iPhone and iPad. Personally I don't like them and would hate having one in my phone.

Huh. I never realized you could do side by side app multitasking on the Tab. That's the only enticing thing to me here. Would be nice to see Apple make that possible for iPad owners in the future.

I wonder if there are limitations? They showed watching a movie and checking email, or was that a browser?, what about email and Excel at the same time...I mean Numbers...I mean??...what do they have for spreadsheets? Maybe it's just movies and something else. What about 3 things at a time? :)

It is not like Apple never done something like that before. Still remember Mac vs PC ads? Still remember how Apple comparing Nexus 7 with iPad mini?

the Mac vs. PC Apple was Apple Computer. The Apple that gave us advices is just Apple. Very different.

Since when is comparing a competing product at a keynote the same as a multimillion dollar ad campaign?

These ads are great.

I use an iMac, MacBook Pro, an iPad Air, and an Android phone. Why an Android phone? Because the screen on the iPhone is so damn tiny!

I get that a lot of people like the smaller phones but I'm 6'4" and a 5" phone -- even a 5.5" phone -- fits effortlessly into my pockets and hands.

If Apple comes out with larger iPhones this year I might move back. Besides the screen size, the other thing I love about Android is the back button. It's so useful and I miss it everytime I use my iPad Air. (I love my iPad Air though!)

I definitely think there is something to the stylus though, though Samsung still hasn't gotten it nailed yet. Not as a replacement for the finger, but for occassional uses. The multitasking ads that MSFT and Samsung run are also both spot on.

The Samsung commercials are great. They are kinda mean-spirited against Apple, but Apple has a long history of doing the same thing so turnabout is fair play. I hope Apple listens to them.

I love both ecosystems tbh. Just as long as its not Windows Phone ... That's both the definition of and incarnation of Evil!

I really wish the iPad and iPhone had better multitasking...that's the truth. Not a fan of a phone that can't fit in your pocket...I really don't see the point of phablets.

How small are your pockets? I've gone back to the iPhone but never had an issue with my 5" Android phones fitting my pockets.

Please dont mention skinny jeans either...people should go to gaol for those things!

It was a horrible example of multitasking to begin with. You can only physically look at one thing at a time, so you're not going to be watching a movie while writing an email. Even on laptop or desktop this is true-- you might have netflix running up in a little window, but if you're writing an email, you're not paying attention to what's in the window. Plus you're compromising your email experience, the more room you give to your video, the less room you have for email. On an Android tablet that might be OK, because all the apps are made for tiny screens anyway, just scaled up for a big tablet. It would be different on iOS where the apps are optimized for the full display.

A better example might be streaming Spotify in the background while you're working on a document or email... which, hey, the iPad can do!

So as I understand it, you are saying iMacs, Macbooks and Mac Pro's should only run full screen programs and not allow 2 things to be seen side by side.

That's what you are saying yes?

I enjoyed how cautiously they "multi-tasked" on the protab. They wanted to show real-world experience, so he moved his finger at caterpillar speed to not cause ridiculous lag.

I'm iphone and ipad through and through- but c'mon multitasking on ipad would be incredible.

Hate having to watch a film on ipad and not being able to check twitter and emails at same time.

My wife says:

"You don't know how to "Multi-Task"

I'm just not deserving of a Samsung or MS product.

My question is; Why are so many people leaving Samsung and going with Apple?

I hate these types of ads as well, but let's get real the only reason Apple is successful now is because they spent YEARS unfairly bashing MS and "PCs."

Actually, those were pretty funny ads. At least what Samsung is saying in the ads is true: The iPhone screen is too small by today's standards (or at least there should be a choice of larger iPhones!), and the lack of true multitasking on the iPad is another fair point, though to be quite honest with only 1GB of RAM on the iPad Air it can barely handle ONE task... *cough*....Safari....*cough*

Amen to that. Three tabs is too much for it to handle.

Has there ever been a Samsung comerrcial with apps other than; mail, Facebook, Instagram, or stock apps? It's very thin indeed Sammy!

Those ads are a bit long and a bit pointless.

I'd rather have a phone and a tablet than a Phablet which is cumbersome as a phone/mp3 and too small to be a nice tablet. I personally don't see a problem with the two formats remaining two formats; a mid-range solution is a lose-lose.

Apple could go comfortably to a 5" iPhone/iPod, but any more is just fatuous market confusion.

It was nice for him to take the useless, cruddy #2 Dixon and the Samsung thing so everyone can enjoy the Apple product at the end. What stupid marketing idea.

Why is Samsung even mentioning Apple products? Why give Apple the free air time? Apple's Your Verse campaign is so much better. Never mentions competing products. Just shows what customers are doing with their iPads.

Skinny jeans? Lol no thanks. It gets to a point where I shouldn't have to notice a phone in my pocket, I would honestly rather have a smaller phone. I ski almost everyday so having a big phone is not gonna fly at all, the smaller the better.

well.. that is easier to say when you are in the dominant position :D

lolSamsung. Focus on making something people actually WANT before you go and bash other products.

How are all those celebrity endorsements that you paid for working out?

What company was Apple targeting with the Mac vs. PC ads? Last I checked, there was no company called "personal computer".

Do you check regularly?
