Haha, the thread title made me think this was some "In soviet Russia ..." joke.

Samsung wishes they had a line.

Stupid commercial. Has no valid ideas besides the fact that the screen is nice and big.

So much information was left out. Good and bad.

"Check out the screen. This thing is HUGE!"
"It's pretty massive!"

The screen size is the only thing about the phone that they mention... and while it uses more and wastes less space on the phone, it's also of a lower ppi and resolution and makes the phone much larger.

All the ad does is makes fun of those waiting out on lines... but, honestly, most people (including Mac fans) do that anyway. With pre and online ordering, there's little reason to stand and wait outside for any product, but, then again, those who decide to wait generally do it for fun and social reasons instead of actual need.

Going from the comments, I was expecting more.

Hey Samsung, that was cute and clever and everything. I'll give props where they're due. But, um.... what does YOUR phone actually do? Did I miss the part where the phone did something? I'm sorry if I did.

Samsung: My #$@% is bigger than yours.

Apple: People wait in line to touch my #$@%.

Samsung: My #$@% is removable.

Apple: My #$@% lasts all day.

Same thing could've been said about the iPhone when it came out.

I dunno, they showed more about their product than Apple did in all those years of "I'm a Mac, he's a PC" ads, which likewise simply made fun of their competition.

Anyone who waits in lines for hours, camps out needs mental help......unless its Scarlett Johansen giving naked hugs its retarded.

Love the way they put a bunch hipsters in the cue just like real life. Made me lol

When iPad 2 launched I went to best buy and counted 7 pairs of these in line. I laughed out loud for the first time in a long time.

Funny ad

Samsung would wish to have a strong following and have people line up for their product launches. But because there's a new one every month it will never happen.

They launch weekly but at least they are different in some physical way.

And yet, last quarter they sold more smart phones than Apple. Without lines.

This is a horrible commercial in my opinion. This just shows that the iPhone is more popular. People want just that.

In my eyes, Samsung shot themselves in the foot. What were they thinking?

Incorrect. Samsung smart phones are more popular than iPhone as evidenced by the fact that Samsung sold more smart phones last quarter than Apple.

Are we forgetting that apple did the exact same thing with their Mac vs PC ads before they gained untouchable status? Showing the PC guy as a geek and the Mac guy as a cool hipster (douchebag). How were apple any different then to what Samsung is doing now?

I like the guy at the end who says "I won't buy that... because I'm original" :p

That one had me laughing pretty hard. Big time since I know a few Apple fanboys/girls here in real life who fit that. Gave that argument on why they get only apple products.

I like the commercial. It's just Samsung poking fun at the stereotypical apple fan. It probably won't help them sell more GS2s, though ;)

And more Corollas were sold than any other car model. But I doubt people would choose a Corolla over BMW, Mercedes, Lexus, etc:

It doesn't make you invincible, or have an app to make your dong 3 feet long.

But their is an app that can save your life ;)
