I would love for Samsung to not have to bash the iPhone in their commercials. It's getting old . . . got old faster than the Mac vs. PC ads.

Besides, I have an iPhone 6 and sorely want to go back to an Android phone. If it weren't for iWork and iTunes man!

I concur with everyone else that says they want Samsung features in an iPhone. So far Apple has done a decent job taking pages from the Samsung playbook. Let's hope they keep up the good work.

Ummm There were over 100 PC v Mac ads created between 2006-2009 across various regions. Having put together one of the longest bashing campaigns of all time together, I think apple can cope a few on the chin ;) If you can dish it out, you need to cope it .

Between android and iOS , they will continue to copy each other . So we should have similar features :) it's gimmicks that Samsung tends to go too far with.

It's all about the user experience. I had the misfortune to have to borrow my maid's S5. I can only liken the experience to wading through a trench filled with human slurry and broken glass. My iPhone 6. on the other hand, is more like frolicking in a hot tub with a trio of supermodels.

Thanks for the laugh.

I don't think that is the case. I've seen samples online with an S6 and other phones. They look very decent. Just being able to take a picture of your group of friends or family without bothering someone passing by is a huge convenience benefit.

but thats how wide-angle lenses work, isnt it? any decent wide angle lens will actually have big distortion the moment you move your subject from the middle of the frame... perhaps they do software correction. but that means partial cropping of edges of the photos. even with iphone facetime, i can see i look fat when holding my phone half a ft away from face ;)

Oh Samsung. Maybe you should spend more time advertising your products for what they are instead of endlessly taking potshots at Apple. Or you can just change your name to "We Want to be Apple"

Its getting old.

And that edge screen is supposed to be innovation which is just a fad and nothing much. Which most of the users wont even use it 2 mins after unpacking this phone.

Meh.....if you're going to round off the edges of a phone and improve the tactile feel of it like many have done, why not make that rounded edge functional? Those that don't want to use it or see value have lost nothing. Those that do have something no one else does. I personally like the idea.

WRONG. First, I just love how people here will call others "Apple Fans". Guess you're not one right? So why be here? This IS an Apple Enthusiast forum after all. People CAN be an Apple Fan and appreciate other brands of tech.

Secondly, people were annoyed at the constant attacks from Samsung against Apple and simply said Samsung should showcase it's product's strengths and features in ads and leave Apple out of it and stop attacking Apple's customers as well. That hasn't happened and Samsung is still up their same shenanigans.

Then they are nothing but the biggest hypocrites worldwide. They create ads making fun of Apple's built-in battery and overly-thin phones with little to no ports.
Then comes the Sammy S6 that not only copies the look of the iPhone 6Plus but incorporates a built-in battery, thinness and very limited ports. Hmm.

I am an Apple fan. The difference between you and I is I'm able to distinguish my individuality from my iPhone, or iPad or AppleTV or MacBook, and even from the company itself. I'm here because it's entertaining. For example, people getting so "annoyed" over Samsung commercials, I find quite amusing. People who claim they don't want additional features until Apple says it's ok to have them... That's entertaining too. I'm not the only one, and we aren't going anywhere so get used to it.

The irony is Samsung probably makes the worst Android phones with Motorola making the best. I had a Galaxy Ace II and it performed horrifically after its update to Jelly Bean. My fiancé owns an S3 and it performs rubbish, even on CyanogenMod. The battery barely lasts a couple of hours either.

Since picking up my iPhone 6 I've had practically nothing to complain about. It does everything and does it perfectly.

To all those in this thread that are 100% rubbishing wireless charging.

I hope you remember this, and carry on rubbishing this way of charging when Apple implements wireless charging.

I hope you don't change your mind and decide wireless charging is good, when Apple uses it.

Please remember what you have said in this thread.

A Galaxy S6 edge? I'm not sure if the 8 year old getting one is the problem here or your statement that it does not feel cheap. :)

What did you get as your first car? He he

well we think 8 is old enough to have their phones.

honestly, for an 8 yr old the phone will be just fine for him. i meant it doesn't feel like any other cheap phones. it's actually decent. :D

i had gotten my dad's old car. a 1973 ford bronco. it's old but works fine. they say i couldn't be trusted with expensive cars and that i should wait til i make my own money. :( i'm hopeful theyre just messing with me though. it's grad month!

I haven't rubbished it, I've just merely pointed out that its pretty much as simple as plugging your phone in, and slightly less useful if you need to continue using the phone.

Of course, you can still plug it in if you need to use it while charging, but why not just do that anyway? What are you going to do with that second you save? More to the point, what could you have done with the £20-30 you spent on a wireless charging dock?

I can assure you I won't be buying wireless docks for around the home as and when Apple get round to implementing it, because I'm damn sure they'll charge a small fortune for them much like they do for their plastic docks.

I have to laugh because these gimmicks are designed to make consumers spend. "Ooo, I can place it on the table and it lights up on both sides", "Ooo, it charges on this plastic ring!", "Ooo, it has a bigger processor and more ram than my desktop computer but it still lags *Every Samsung Phone EVER*".

Wireless charging, in its current implementation, is bad, because you can't hold the phone. When you can wirelessly charge and still use the phone normally, then it will become better than a cable. Until such time, cable is better.

As long as Apple implements the industry standard wireless technology as Samsung does, so that furniture out there now, and being made now, will just work.

When the table at home or the table in the cafe supports wireless charging it will so simple and easy to just pop in for your coffee and place you phone down by the side of you and have it topping your phone up.

No need to carry a charger, of find a plug socket. There will be wireless charging built into things everywhere.

Of course, Apple will screw this all up if they come up with some incompatible wireless charging system that won't work with all these things.
But then Apple would NEVER do that would they? :)

Apple can't complain too much considering their "I'm a Mac"-series, but I didn't like then when Apple did it and don't like it now Samsung's doing it.

It's always poor to try to make yourself better by putting down your competition like this. Never acknowledge them, talk about yourself, but doing it like this just shows you consider yourself inferior.

Costs aside as they really are moot in the grand scheme. I mean if you can afford the device and see the value in wireless charging as I do, then does it really matter. I've spent more on far less valuable items before.

Anyway, the biggest value in wireless I see is simply convenience for me at night. I can just walk into my bedroom and set the phone down on the pad/nightstand and leave it sit on it's side and still see the time and clock information on the curved edge. Kudos to Samsung for making the edge actually productive and useful. To their point, the iP6 is nice and feels good to hold but why not make the curved sides do something? Just makes sense. To those that don't see value, don't use it. At least others can.

but it still lags *Every Samsung Phone EVER*".
My Note 3 doesn't lag. The stock dialer is the only portion of it that seems to have a lag/delay and that's easily fixed.....I use a third party dialer.

Thankfully you have both. Wireless works great on a night-stand.

THEY"RE NOT THE SAME THING! Seriously, this getting beyond tiresome.
Is PC a company? There were 50 OEM selling PC's, netbook and Laptops at that time, only thing common was Windows in them.
This commercial ran at the time when that piece of **** "Vista" was making life a living hell for many PC users.
Especially with with integration with current software, hardware being totally defective (which was the OEM's responsability).
Apple produce both, Software and hardware, so they are the opposite to this fictional "PC" company.
Did Apple basically called out PC users as idiot like Samsung has done dozens of times, wall huggers, laughs at Apple users in lines, etc.

Besides that, it's not Samsung or iPhones. In truth Samsung's biggest competition is other Android devices. The iPhone is competition for Android perhaps, but not any one single Android device.

As an S6 edge owner. I approve of these ads. The Cut off Nana part had me rolling off my couch!
