You can reserve one on the Samsung UK site so assume its being released :p

I will be going for the black Note 7. Won't be my first jump from iPhone to Galaxy phone (Done the same years ago when I went for the Galaxy S3) so hopefully it'll be a better experience this time.
Only black and blue available on U.K. Store right now. Thought silver would be there too

"You hacked a phone with the person's own fingerprint. Right"

Same concept as using the user's twitter info ( person's own fingerprint) to hack its account (hacked a phone). Hacking basically means getting info without someone's authority.

Here we go again, just search the dictionary.
You know the same thing can be done with the note 7, if your friend was drunk, passed out with an iris scanner. Just open the eyelid of your drunk friends phone to gain access. Hacking right? Or he gave you the password and you hacked the phone.

Thanks for that, tried to reserve just gave me the option if registering interest so done this also.

You don't need any examples of finger print hacking. I caught my bf cheating on me by simply just putting his finger on touch ID while he was sleeping.

1. I thank apple for coming up with fingerprint scanner that allows me to hack into my ex's phone without having to go through complicated process (just rest his finger on his phone while he's asleep)

2. I failed to see how secure touch Id is when even I can hack into his phone within a few sec.

Ha, well first you have to get the guy to have enough trust in you to fall asleep. But good point about the phone being not so secure to that type of "social" hack.

People are going to look right tools when they hold their phone up in a queue to pay.

Think I'll stick with Touch ID :)

I like seeing tech news in general on here. So many stuck up people in here that should appreciate competition.
I've had iPhones since 2008 and deeply in the ecosystem. I've been curious about switching for some time now since samsungs designs are pretty sexy in comparison to the aging iPhone like. Bezels are horrible and the Phone looks dated in comparison to this. Smaller footprint/bigger screen/bigger battery/ edge less display. I do hate the Samsung logo on the phone but other than that it's leaps over the iPhone in terms of design.
Anybody know if android phones can do AirPlay through an app? I use AirPlay everyday and don't know if I can loose that. Let alone my Applewatch/MacBook Pro whole ecosystem. Sigh
Apple needs to open its eyes and push again. Only thing keeping me around are the Apple Watch and MacBooks. The apps I spent lots of money on too.

Here you go.

Typical response of someone with no argument. Dismiss the other person as a hater to diminish what they say.

Having something that can be inserted wrong is a DESIGN FLAW. This is why countless devices in countless industries have things like keyways to prevent things from being used the wrong way (usually by accident). You can't throw out hundreds of years of engineering just because you won't admit Samsung made a mistake.

I'm still waiting for one of you Samsung fans to list off all those powerful Android Apps that run so well on an S7 but can't on an iPhone. How many times do I have to ask this before someone steps up to the plate? I've got my S7 and 6S Plus sitting here waiting to test them. And please list off all those powerful 64bit Android Apps that can utilize the S7 processor.

guessing you have never tried virtual reality on the s7 yet bud. You keep asking about 64bit apps? the whole reason to going 64bit is to allocate over 4gb of memory and be able to use it loading bigger code and apple is still not able to take advantage of 64bit with its limited ram they are using.

so please tell me what apps are over 4gb and using 4gb worth of code in memory to take advantage of 64bit

I really like the idea of writing a notes on the top screen for quick note taking.
Why you would want to write notes when you can type them. It is faster, text is searchable and more readable and you can do it with one hand.

These days, the difference is not that big anymore just like OSX and Windows..
Yes Windows got better nowadays but it is still completely different OS. Different in fundamental level.

iPhones don't use gorilla glass? Since when? Also none of the other stuff is new. Expandable memory and water resistance existed before the Note 7. So did iris scanning.

note 7 is first to use gorilla glass 5 just like all the older Samsung's were first on putting new gorilla Glass out.the sd card reader can read Samsung's ufd nand based sd cards and is the only player out to do this as they invented it and make them.

off the top of my head having a notes app built into the front of the display would be useful. Ive never owned an android phone before but can see the benefit for that. With an iPhone you have to unlock the phone and find the notes app (if its hidden in a folder you search for it already wasting time). Then you can't pin the notes to your front screen if you need it. You have to go back into the notes app and search for what you wrote. The whole point of having a quick notes on the front of screen is to have a quick reminder not necessarily something you want stored in your notes folder. Off the top of my head and all. Thats how id use it anyway.

64 bit instructions are faster due to double the bus lane. In fact 64 bit enables this phone to have 4gb to begin with. iPhone doesn't need as much ram because it's not as much as a resource hog.

As said above a "drunk friends" eye can be opened and an iris scanner used also. So the point being that using only what you have (vs what you know) is not really secure. I guess eyes and fingers can be removed to "hack" a phone.

actually 32bit code will load faster and takes up less space but I don't want to open that can of worms with you.the guy I quoted kept saying there is no apps that use 64 bit on Android and my point is there is no apps that need 64bit or can take advantage of 64bit on iOS because its bottle necked by not using more than 4gb of ram and the reason we jumped to 64 bit in the first place

Got it about the loading because executables are smaller, but 64 bit native will run faster plus there are instructions on 64 bit not on 32 bit architectures. Apple wanted 64 bit for the secure enclave and encryption and decryption.

Samsung keynotes are always boring, and this one is not any better. The guy was saying thank you for every light/late clap he got it's kinda sad. With all the gimmicks like VR and neon wow, it is amazing how the people doing the presentation can be so boring.
Not interested in anymore Samsung ever since I paid premium for the flagship Galaxy Note 10.1 2014, and never got any updates beyond kitkat. Samsung prices are beyond common sense at this point.

Meanwhile: the rest of the world enjoy phones that work reliably and smoothly, as that's more important than customising icons and installing bloated widgets on an OS which uses Java for its applications.
I wish my 6 plus worked reliably and smoothly, and had more than a 4 hour screen on time.

vr is definitely not a gimmick! please go try it and come back and report.its freaking awesome.

Brand new i was getting 10-11 hours on my 6+
Apps crashing and reloading is a curse of the bigger screen and not enough ram. It drives me crazy that apps refresh. But i heard the 6s and 6s+ is fixed with the 2gig of ram.

hmmm - can you say 'over sharpened' much?

Kinda ruins the photos, especially looking at these over sharpened 72dpi images on a Retina display...
A shame because the low light ones aren't too bad.

Yeah, there are some nice shots in that gallery that play well with the excessive sharpening, but if these are untouched photos I agree that there's way too much sharpening happening. And I'm really tired of the argument that megapixels aren't important. Yes, the lens and sensor are obviously bigger image quality factors, but more megapixels = larger images, and larger images offer greater editing flexibility and will be more future-proof for displaying online as screen resolutions continue to increase. 12mp is fine, but it still feels like a step backwards for Samsung from 16.

As far as the phone is concerned, I think it looks really nice. Watching the "first look" video someone linked, the back doesn't seem to be the greasy fingerprint magnet the S6 models were (I wasn't paying attention to the S7 release). I'm still happy with iPhone, though, and I'm not tempted to switch. iOS is fast, stable, secure, offers a top quality selection of apps, and I think its a great mobile operating system. If you like Android, more power to ya! The competition benefits us all, and at the end of the day they're just smartphones!

It'll be interesting to see what Apple has in store for the 7. A lot people around here talk like it's already been released, but all we have are rumors and I'm sure Apple still has some suprises up its sleeve.

I'm impressed. I am trying so hard to stay with Apple. I ditched my S7 for my 6s+ and been happy. I an unhappy with the iPhone 7...Guess it's time to exercise my JOD with Tmo and get both.

Erm. Really?

Rubbish, Apple invented everything!!! .. didn't.. they..?

Nope, they did it to be first, joining the spec wars that ifans oh so hate..
Now Samsung joined the 64bit club, and how's the phrase go.. they did it right...

Maybe in your universe 64 bit is a useless spec. 64 bit is not like throwing in an ir blaster than taking it out then throwing it in etc. not like the droid fans drooling over the new hardware where specs are the only thing and the software needs all that hardware just to run smoothly.

Did you even finished highschool?

Dont you know that being drunk will cause our iris to constrict and even changes the colour of them too? That just makes the phone more secure to not unlock for any drunks, the last thing that people want to use while they are drunk is to use their phone and cause dramas.

Can you please read some news to update yourself with some knowledge? Or maybe, I don't know, study?

Oh!

"Or he gave you the password and you hacked the phone."

Finally even you acknowledged that this is actually a form of HACK? Hahaha oh... The irony.

We really need someone like Steve Jobs now. I have upgraded every year but will skip iPhone 7. Sad. (iPhone 2->3G->3GS->4->4S->5->5S->6->6S->skip->?)

Like me I have upgraded every year and I'm getting the 7 the A10 chip is going to be a beast!

Trust me. The new glitter of the Note 7 will wear off fast when you realize how limited you are functionality wise and how it won't sync with your current devices like Apple. You also will get pretty upset next year when your year old phone won't get the updates and new features your 3 year old iPhone gets.

You also have to keep in mind that Samsung does its best to try and copy Apple. Why would you jump ship with a copier that relies on someone else software when you get stick with the originator and true innovator? #AllPhonesDontMatter

I've been an Apple guy since I worked there in the Gil Amelio days, and have owned all iPhones, etc over the years. This statement just isn't very true any longer. With cloud services like Google Photos, Spotify, Evernote, OneNote, and so many more, the device is just a delivery mechanism. The ecosystem is not as relevant as people try to believe. The only phone that matters is the one that an individual finds to be the best for them. I just don't get the phone bashing. Is it to make someone feel better about their own purchase? That's called insecurity.
