I was actually comparing my cheap, $200 Galaxy J7 and my iPhone 6 Plus. Facebook on the J7 launches and is usable in under a second. 6+? Several seconds. Want a video? Actually, I'm not making one. Your fanboyism isn't worth it. *inb4 you respond with how I don't want to make a video means that what I said isn't true*

Sorry, I don't have a cheap J7 - I have an S7. Do you want to stay on topic here and compare the flagship S7 to the iPhone 6S?

What was your comment about 64-bit Android apps? I must've missed it. I'll address it if you bring it up again.

There are virtually no 64bit Android Apps therefore having a 64bit processor in an Android phone is pointless. I'd love for you to list off all the native 64bit Apps on Android that offer powerful features that take advantage of these new 64bit processors.

"Additionally, the Galaxy Note7 features a built-in iris scanner for unlocking the smartphone with your eyes,"

Bloodshot eyes.....Beware.

Good that Samsung that thrown in these "free-bees" Gear VR.... Apple can't even throw in this as yet, and unlikely they ever well.... I don't know if Apple is even interested in VR in a an iPhone to do this.

Knowing Apple, they'll probably just make the phone VR-like so u won't even need the head-up display..

I agree.

Sadly Apple has let that go also.

My Nexus 6P is faster, smoother, and offers a better experience than my iPhone 6S Plus.

Once upon a time, no one could provide the exceptional world class experience that Apple did. I know, I enjoyed it.

But that was then and this is now... My Nexus 6P, Galaxy S7 Edge, LG V10 and Droid Maxx 2 all provide an exceptional experience.

Apple... Not so much.

Hmmm. Are we using the same S7?
My S7 takes great photos in low light. F 1.7 is great camera
But when it comes to video. S7 result is extremely disappointing. try it. U will think the same.
The stabilizer ruins the whole video badly. It is totally useless.
It ruined my whole swiss trip video. Really mad at Samsumg's stupid software.

I'm not going to lie, the Note 7 looks really sharp and innovative. It's tempting,
But I remain loyal to Apple, even though iPhone 7 does not really have me excited.
So... a released product has you somewhat more excited than an unreleased product based on very poor rumor information of what the next device will entail. Gotcha.

I think if Apple is getting rid of the 3.5mm jack that they have something industry-changing to replace it.

IT Needs all that hardware for the software to run smoothly!!!! BOOM!!!!!! Bang to rights there fella.. I'll bookmark this shall I.
Never again mention lag, judders, not smooth. Lol lol lol
You are right I made a typo, I meant to cut it off at run. Just basing this on MR posts. Never make that mistake again.

"My" = 1.

And the sad fact is that we don't even know if you're telling the truth.

Its Time to step outside into the real world, everyone knows the iPhone fingerprint scanner doesn't work with fingers being wet. Or if you don't believe, just search on YouTube? Are you aware that YouTube even exist?

"Drug him, put drops" that's a stretch to your arguement but ok.

What about "drug him, put eye drops and OPEN HIS EYELID" vs. resting finger on the sensor while some is asleep without having to use drug and no eye drops needed lol.

I'm sure you will say iris hacking is still easier! Hahaha
lets not cast stones about who is telling the truth. You are the one for deviousness in using a drugged mates fingerprint against his will. Why not use pupil dialating drops? Surely not far fetched. Get kidnapped, drugged, put drops in the eyes, hack the phone. Easy-peasy.

I've seen the pattern, pretty much every year Apple are about to release a phone, other makers have to get in with their flashy products, but in reality, they fall short of what Apple delivers. We use Samsung phones at work, talk about pretty, plastic feeling and constant crashing os, this is what I base my decision on. :)

It is sad when I see posts like this. A general blanket statement that likely does not apply to the recent Note or Galaxy lineup. Please be a bit more specific.
  • What Samsung device(s) are being used?
  • Is it the stock OS?
    • What version?
    • Has work modified this?
I have a Note 5 I use as a backup device and have to say the build quality surpasses my everyday iPhone 6S+. Android 5.1.1 and now 6 are pretty much crash free.

IMO, Note 7 looks nice, but seems doesn't have any killer feature. I just wish next iPhone 7 will surprise use with some killer feature that no body knows.

I am very hesitant to buy another Android, since ALL android device I ever use (including the S6) runs quite hot. My iPhone 6S+ can runs quite cool (around 30 to 34) on normal task. The S6 is already around 37 by the time I use Facebook and Messenger, and easily rise up to 38-40 on good air conditioned room (b4 anybody ask, it is on stock with just normal suite of software installed).

1) The page that you sent us to was written in 2015, its 2016 now. Hello you there?

2) Samsung knox by BB is much more secure than Android itself and even iOS. And guess what, this source is based on 2016 devices.

When the Apple vs. FBI issue came out, I spent some time trying to find definitive information on iOS vs. Android from a security perspective.
End result: They are very close. Close enough that either is usable. :)

I honestly think most folks are spoiled or clueless. Probably both. Do you know how hard it is for a company to come out with a industry changing product in a lifetime? Name any big company besides Apple that has done so in the past 50 years? Go ahead, I'll wait. Now think of the unreasonable expectations for Apple to do it yearly.

Look at Pokemon Go. Game changer. Guess what happens next? The copy machines then the crowd chanting "we want more innovation,"

I used to get much better battery time also, especially when new, but also with 9.3.1. Then iOS 9.3.2 happened. I've tried doing some things to remedy but nothing has worked so far.
Apple replaced my battery after a year and a half. It was at 80%. Big improvement. Not sure if you have AppleCare but might be something to look into

Hybrid cars came out from Porsche in 1901. Not exactly game changing.

Your list is a mixture of business processes and inventions, not really affecting one industry.

The Note 7 makes sense to me as it completes the galaxy range nicely. Options are a nice thing to have and apart from a small form factor version, Samsung have a range of flagship phones to suit different buyers. I'm surprised that they introduced USB C on this version as I thought they would save it for the galaxy 8 range next year on the basis of the current USB B connector on the Gear VR, I wasn't expecting a new Gear VR just for this new phone either. Competition is fierce out there that is for sure.

Okay ... and.... smartphones fall into this also.
I look back on what I saw / used / experienced growing up in the 60's till now. The smartphone is a blip. It did a good job of kicking off mobile into mainstream.

Porsche and 1901 ... didn't know that. When it was "invented" and when it became a realistic useful item (usually technologically driven) can be a bit diverse. ;)

Won't be with the note with HDR video which looks amazing

I have a s6 edge plus, it's had marshmallow for a long time, last year's model on the latest and greatest eh, what's that all about. Nougat isn't even out yet isn't.it? How can the note ship with it?

And when you put "maybe they've improved, I don't know.." that why you get accused of banging on, you are commenting on stuff you don't know.
[doublepost=1470241337][/doublepost]
So you admit it runs smoothly, finally we have a break through.

Nougat is rumoured to ship on Friday. The Note 7 ships on the 19th. Ergo, it'll either have Nougat, or it'll follow within a short time, as I said.

I stated my comments were based on my past experience with the Note 2 FROM THE ****ING BEGINNING.
That said, no one knows this stuff for certain except Samsung. As yet, none of us have the ability to see into the future. It's called speculation - we kind of do that quite a lot on this site, it's a rumour site?!

No. Those are valid entries. How many are from the same company and does the company or companies have expectation to innovate or introduce an industry changing product/service every year?

iOS 7 was a blatant rip off of android. And you can't tell me that devices like the Surface Pro didn't influence the iPad Pro. I find it comical that Apple hardcore iFans will shout from the mountain top that "so and so stole from Apple" Yet when Apple blatantly copies...you get the "oh, well that's different" bs excuse

I just stopped caring about who copied what and who made it first.
If something is good, just copy it. That's how it's been since the beginning of time.

Hyperbole much? The Samsung Note 7 looks great and I'm confident it will do well. I never said the Note 7 had me excited, I stated it looks innovative and sharp.

Anyone that knows anything about Apple at this stage in the game, understands any leaks we see beyond this point are most likely the finalized product. Being the 'iPhone 7' will likely undergo minor changes, I.e...Battery, A10/M10, thinner, more water resistant, camera upgrade, ect.

The iPhone 6/6s/7 are nearly identical in terms of hardware and with some software enhances, with 3D Touch. The iPhone 7 really is a revamped 6s, with the possibility of the 3.5 Jack being deleted. So when I feel like I am purchasing the same iPhone every year, I think it's reasonable to not to be 'Excited.' Now, I still plan on upgrading anyways on day one, being I am an Apple loyalist, but the tenth anniversary iPhone will be a major overhaul, which will have a lot of iPhone users excited.

And what Apple fan does not get excited before the September Key Note? And please explain what is considered 'Very poor rumor information?' Does the source have to be validated or are leaks considered to be poor as well? Being we see this every year on Macrumors, it's probable what we see now is likely the final product. And soon the packaging leaks will surface.

If Apple does delete the Jack, I previously mentioned to another forum member, Apple may have a grander scheme. In any case, it's a matter of time.

I will be sure to get back to you on launch day to tell you how excited I am when I receive the new iPhone.

That is probably what is driving Samsung. Competition. As someone pointed out in another post, Apple only competes with itself. Thus it relies on fanboyism...um...brand loyalty and status-symbol, er, status to drive sales.

At this point, I just don't see me EVER returning to the iOS fold.

I "NEED" the stylus, the back-button, the app-switcher, the customization, and the expandable storage. ALL things that Apple does not and I believe, will not offer. EVER.

Buuut, I'm a power user. The average person could live without any of that, and they do. So Apple is happy to charge them Power User prices for bare-minimum features.

Like the Note 5 from last year? Released in August, Marshmallow released in October, and Note 5 finally started getting it in Apr 2016. A full 6 months after it was released. Do you call 6 months a "short time"?

I can't argue with any of that. I am truly cross platform - a self built pc for gaming and power hungry graphics work, a macbook pro for coding and work on the go, a iphone 6s work phone and an S7 as a personal phone. As a power user myself Android fits me much better, besides I like the fact that you have genuine choice on the Android side - Samsung, HTC, Sony, LG, Nexus. So many flagships to choose from which are all unified under one OS. I like iOS too but the lack of choice in hardware narks me, I don't want to be tied down to one phone and one phone only. I wouldn't want that with any other purchase I make, so why should a phone be any different.

I agree with your comment but for the sake of argument I will play along with

I think the stylus will come to the iPhone Plus at some point. I think the iPad Pro kinda sets the stage for it. Expandable storage? Forget about it! Back button? Nope. Apple is going minimalist as possible. They are getting rid of buttons and probably will be button free in 4 or so versions of the iPhone. Customizations and such will come over time albeit with the Apple spin.

I still find it hilarious that Samsung, pre-iPhone 6, misread what Apple was doing with "curved glass" and thought they meant curved screen, and doubled down on this idea...and now they are stuck pretending like anyone ever wanted that.

I find it hilarious that people believe Samsung did it because they thought Apple was going to.

How about you do your own homework...
https://play.google.com/store/search?q=64 bit games&c=apps
https://play.google.com/store/search?q=64 bit apps&c=apps

And these are just the ones that declare it... not a requirement of the Play store.

Pretty much any Android app written with the last 3 SDKs are 64bit unless the dev created their own proprietary 32bit lib files for their app.

Just like iOS apps, they support both 32bit and 64bit by default.
There are no pure 64bit iOS apps at the moment. They still need to run on any device using iOS 8 our higher, and that includes the older iPad 2 and the original mini, both of which have 32bit CPUs.
