I've been feeling that way about Apple for awhile now, though. Since after the iPhone 6S, there haven't been that many changes to being just "another iPhone". Even with the X, unless Apple makes a noticeable change to the upcoming 2019 iPhone, it's going to be just another iPhone... again.

I agree - I got the 6S when it released and it was an worthwhile upgrade and I was impressed with a lot of the stuff they added. Now I'm on an 8Plus and that didn't really change anything outside of being faster.

AND it has a headphone jack!! See Apple. You could have done that too. But NOOOOO... had to be Courageous. Yea, right. Had to be idiotic is more like it.
While I'm sure many people don't miss the headphone jack, I don't think I've ever met someone who wasn't inconvenienced by the lack of a jack at least one time for one reason or another. Personally I plan on buying a device with a headphone jack for my next smartphone.

S8 never had touchwiz..it had the Samsung Experience UX......which is why most people started to enjoy Samsung's software although I never had issues with Touchwiz like others often say. Touchwiz is the reason why both iOS and android have some of its main features...everyone should be thanking Touchwiz for the value it brought to both of the major mobile OS's. Touchwiz still does more than iOS...and thats a shame.

Hm. I had the phone on work for a while and I was under the impression it was still called touchwiz but I stand corrected.

Meh. At these prices I'll be sticking with my GS7 Edge. Like the S8 and S9 that came before I see nothing in these new phones which justify such prices.

I thought this was MacRumors. Must have bookmarked the wrong site.
They’ve always posted tech news from other companies if it’s major. Nothing new here. Do you not want to see competition here or just want apple based stuff...

Last time Samsung used Touchwiz as the official name of their interface/UI for a flagship phone was the Galaxy S7 and Note 7 (remember this phone existed then ceased to exist, i will not say why becuz they enjoy saying it all the time on macrumors)........

Screw Face ID. Well done Samsung. If it were not for the OS I’d be sooo done with iPhone. :apple:
Oh yeah. Love Apple products, but these days, other than their in house chipsets and Face ID, they’ve done nothing that innovative in years. Hardware wise I would say there are now many others on par and in Samsung’s case beyond in certain cases. Impressive new phones for sure.

I will say though 12GB of RAM is simply a sign of inefficiency and/or bragging rights. Sorry, but this thing can’t keep up with an iPad Pro with 4GB-6GB of RAM, and the A12 is still beyond anything in their phones.

Then, there is the software, the Achilles heel of Samsung. I will never migrate away from iOS as long as Android is Android.

I have a drawer full of android phones.

so yeah, cheap carrier-subsidized junk.
[doublepost=1550701368][/doublepost]the funny thing is, if apple did an about face and put out an iPhone with 8GB RAM, all of your fanboys would be doing backflips talking about how Apple finally listened and its gonna be the best device they've ever made, it'll sell like gangbusters, yadda yadda yadda. and it will.

and then you will all come back posting about how you can't imagine an iPhone experience with anything less than 8GB RAM.

No, when networks in the U.S. don't even have real 5G functioning; no need to buy a 5G device until 2021....everyone is better off with LTE for the time being.

that's not quite true, I know verizon and tmobile have test 5G in a small handful of markets... if you're one of the lucky few and have the coin, it would be a nice upgrade.

Wait..... it supports super cool new bluetooth earbuds AAANNNDD it has a headphone jack?!?!?!?

What voodoo witchcraft it this?

Seriously, if it weren't for a still pretty good Apple ecosystem, or if these new Samsung phones ran iOS, I'd really consider switching....

Problem, if you travel alot ..few places will have 5G in my case..............i see widespread adoption 2021 and 2022

Wow these phones are very impressive. I don't like Android either but from the videos, I think Samsung's One UI does a good job of masking the garbage.

The S10E is everything the XR should have been... cut the corners on superfluous features. A 1080p AMOLED with two lenses and a smaller, still elegant design is exactly what the XR should be... not this huge, thick monstrosity with hideous colors and massive (I'm exaggerating) bezels.

Nope, sorry, I know it’s difficult to hear from me, but IMO Samsung has just looked at Apple’s business strategy and gone hey, that’s great let’s copy it..

So far as I know at launch Samsung has never had a Galaxy S model of the usual size flagship version, the plus size flagship version, and a new size cheaper cut down version with lower res screen, less RAM but same SOC.

Yeah I’d rather have a notch then an annoying little dot!

Other than the tons of different Galaxy models out there, there have also been "mini" versions of most of the S series phones that were smaller and had lesser specs.
