Well it’s official. I’m now bored of the X design. I’m digging these new Samsung phones for once.

If the 2019 iPhone does not have a new design, I will not only be disappointed but it will also be the first time I keep a phone for 3 years.

I like that Samsung’s S10e offers better resolution amongst other things at $750 (still too much for me). Hopefully, Apple will stop being cheap wads and once again offer quality specs at that price.

It looks nicer than anything Apple if producing right now. A headphone port! I still like those, and that display looks lovely.....

Not too shabby Samsung. In fact, not bad at all. Don't think I'll ever tolerate the software, but the hardware seems impeccable.
If only it ran iOS.

It looks fantastic.

I'm one of those weirdos who really likes the crazy, saturated Samsung OLED's. Wish iOS had a way to enable that kind of thing.

Battery power share, so you can extremely inefficiently share power with a friend. Drain your battery 20% to give 5% to a friend! This is one of those impractical gimmicky features Samsung loves to throw into their phones - there always has to be one....
It's a stupid feature, unless you can use it to charge something like BT headphones.

I've gotta admit, those curbed Infinity displays are gorgeous. I'm curious to know Mr. Cook's reaction to theses S10s and the Fold that were released today…

I think these phones look nicer than the X series. I do like FaceID; however, and would gave a hard time giving that up. Plus the ecosystem...nah, could never use Android...unless they got iMessage. Then maybe.

I've been feeling that way about Apple for awhile now, though. Since after the iPhone 6S, there haven't been that many changes to being just "another iPhone". Even with the X, unless Apple makes a noticeable change to the upcoming 2019 iPhone, it's going to be just another iPhone... again.

Ok, but what is it you want? What does it need to do that it is not doing now?

Choose wisely, no manufacturer is going to do something that only you want, at least 80% of the users must want it as well. Can you show that 80% of the users want what you want?

Or, do at least 80% of the users of the iPhone already have what they want?

Point is that once their current iPhone or Android dies or is ready for an upgrade, the majority just a new x phone, the new model, that maybe looks a bit better, performs a bit better and so on. They want, just another x phone. Only the enthusiasts are complaining about lack of innovation, they represent the smallest part of the user base.

LOL. They're pulling an Apple with masking the hole with wallpaper.

Like everything except for the hole but maybe it's a stepping stone to when they can switch the display between opaque and transparent so there's no visible hole when not using camera.

12GB RAM is nice for future proofing but would like to know how they plan to utilize it more than just an app cache to keep apps in memory. No mention of DeX enhancements like addition of Windows 10 on ARM that would benefit.
They're masking almost the whole front of the foldable phone bezels (MASSIVE BEZELS) with black wallpaper too.

Folding phone aside, Samsung phones are actually focusing on real world specs for improvement. rather than silly gimmicks only a handful of people actually use. But I'm sure the kool-aid drinkers will chime in shortly about the "user experience"...

It's almost like Apples failure to innovate in the software realm is now showing in the hardware realm too. Even the lowest tier model has double the RAM as the XS. And yes, it DOES make a difference in usability.

The entire history of computing has illustrated a constant, increasing need for more processing memory. You don't even have to look too far back in Apples own product line to see a graveyard of good tech left behind by their decision to kneecap their hardware to drive future sales.

I'm going to make a not-too-bold prediction: you're not gonna hear about missed sales targets of this line of Galaxy phones.
I've never had an issue with RAM on an iPhone. Never. I frequent these boards probably as much as anyone and I've never heard anyone else complaining about RAM either. You're the first.

Until Apple copies it, then you’ll think it’s the greatest thing ever. LOL

Good design and has under screen fingerprint reader. Too bad it runs Android.
If it ran Google's pure version it would be brilliant as Pixel Android Pie runs circles around iOS in every way from stability to usability. Sadly it uses Samsung's Android skin so you are partly correct...

We don't know what the targets and what the sales will be. However, these phones represent another iteration of better specs, the same type of thinking that has been applied to iphones in the past.

Where has android innovated in software that apple hasn't and has android using the processing power to it's fullest, not due to inherent inefficiencies in the operating system?

that statement is subject to personal opinion. I respect that you prefer android over iOS... But I find it very messy, disorganized and crappy in many ways. I prefer the neatness and cleanliness of iOS.... I had Android for a bit on a note 7 and it absolutely drove me nuts..... Sure there are some things it does a lot better than iOS but overall I just couldn't deal with it.
You did not have a pure version of Android, you used Samsung's version and that might very well have been crappy. Pure Android on the Pixel line is brilliant and in my oppopin far superior to iOS in terms of usability and stability.

Nope, not a gimmick at all.

My Gear S3 Frontier's battery is 380mAh. And the Samsung earbuds obviously has less capacity. A 4100mAh battery can top fully charge it and still have more than enough juice left. It's going to nice to know I can charge them from my phone. Now I don't have to bring my watch charger when traveling.

Also you can wireless charge other phones even if the S10 is on a charger. Makes sense if somebody has a phone that has a differ port, like the iPhone or phone that still uses micro USB.

And down to 20% just to give 5%? What kind of silly math is that?
