[doublepost=1533848797][/doublepost]One thing people do not understand is that the Note Series is NOT the standard general public release phone... Samsung's main bread/ butter for phones comes from the Galaxy Series which is targeted towards the same audience as Iphonez.

Note Series has always been the high-end priced option, and its a no brainer. Apple came up with $1000 pricing for a phone targeted towards the general public.

Never had one fail? I have lost photos when the sd card failed in my camera.
Wouldn't that loss/ corruption happen on a normal phone flash storage?

Samsung software? Samsung curved display? Samsung lack of software support compared to Apple? No thanks. It might work for others, but not for me. I’ll stick to Apple.

LOL the funniest thing about all these posts is the iPhone users who are scrabbling for a phone charger half way through the day.

Any all day event I attend, all the people with iPhones are all huddled round the power socket trying to charge their phones. My Note 8 is normally on about 50% charge at the end of a reasonable day of use, even after a year (oh and no OS throttling because the manufacturer put cheap Chinese batteries in their phones). Yep there was the Note 7 battery but at lease Samsung recalled the phones instead of hiding it from their fanbois.

Oh and if you have not used an sPen please go to the Store and try it for yourself before stating there is no innovation. Seriously taking notes while the phone is still locked in meetings is soooo useful. Now using Dex to present instead of lugging in a laptop to a customer meeting and advancing the slides with the sPen is amazing. I suppose iPhone users could throw their phone across the room and try to hit their laptop space-bar to advance a slide.

Wait what???? I've been an iPhone user for 4 years and i definitely dont do that. Actually, my phone is good through a whole day and i listen to music at work, make calls, i'm an ardent twitter and instagram user and text a lot throughout the day. Maybe you're talking to some people that experienced slower battery issues with the new iOS because it was an older phone so the new iOS slowed it down? Because i have an iPhone X and this thing is a beast. I also have AirPods and its been almost a month since I charged them and they're just now coming down to 15% charging. Where are you getting your stats??? Because they're not true at all. If anything, I had a samsung before and I had issues with battery and hence my switch to iOS.

double the memory, a bigger battery, to name a few. Why they chose 999 im not sure. But these improvements are worth atleast a 100 dollar increase from last years model.

It's a routinely used pricing scheme that is used almost everywhere. It gives the psychological feeling that something is cheaper. It's why you see stuff price in supermarkets and stores at $1.99 instead of $2 or an electronic product priced at $199 instead of $200.

All these Samsung devices are outstanding. Our concern is Samsung’s inability for keeping up with Google’s OS and security updates. Until Samsung can perform OS and security updates as promptly as Apple does, and support for older devices (three to four years old), for us Android is a non-starter. That said, with their release of these devices they are to be complimented.

No, they are reliable until you lose something not replaceable, unless you have backups.
Which is exactly what I said in an earlier post. Argument applies to any storage

It's as silly as Split Screen on a Phone.

Until Apple does it :)

Split screen on a Note size screen in landscape is perfectly usable. Two screens the size of an iPhone 4.

How is that, Samsung says you can use it for a day without charging it, hmmmmmmm where is that on an Apple device. Amazing post, no data just snapdragons are thirsty. Surely every phone is as bad as an iPhone at lasting through the day, well after the first month after battery degradation kicks in.
Apple quotes average battery life right on their website:

https://www.apple.com/iphone-x/specs/

Current consumption: Note that the Specs for the Note 9 state 22 hours Talk Time (sorry, I can't find where I saw that earlier), vs. 21 hours for the iPhone X. HOWEVER, the iPhone X only has a 2,716 mAh battery, vs. the whopping (and heavy!) 4,000 mAh battery in the Note 9:

https://www.theverge.com/circuitbre...hone-x-3gb-of-ram-2716mah-battery-specs-apple

And this is typical of SnapDragon-equipped phones. Samsung has typically had nearly twice the battery capacity and only gotten VERY marginally better run-times than their iPhone counterparts, generation after generation.

So, all things considered, this means that the SnapDragon OBVIOUSLY is a current-hog, compared with Apple's Homegrown Axx-Series SoCs.

It isn't. They ARE different. Note 9 features more than just screen mirroring, it's more capable. Screen mirroring has been available on many Android phones for years, WITHOUT wires.
..and with iOS, too.

But you are right. Dex is a lame attempt to make a phone into a PC.

Right, so if you don’t backup and you lose photos, etc, it’s on you. I had an sd card reader on my blackberry and for me, I didn’t use it. But it’s another failure point as I see it.

Apple has offered Split Screen on iPads for a couple of generations, now.

They (rightly) believe it is just silly on a Phone-sized screen.

And I agree.

It might be "perfectly usable" if you have 20/15 eyesight and are under 30; but not so much after that.

My X is full of new features. It’s a shame you obviously don’t have one. Kuo was right on when he says Face ID is years ahead of EVERYONE and so far it hasn’t been duplicated or bettered by anyone.

Let’s take AirPods - they are selling still faster than Apple can make them as a FIRST generation product. They’ve become a standard in technology equaling the success of the iPod and iPhone. Smash hit. Ahem.

Apple Watch - most of the Apple haters and many lovers said it would die a miserable death - same thing - it rules its catergory and has become an item to need just like Jobs did with so many other Apple devices. The first stand alone cellular watch. Duh!

I must say the X for me has been a great ride. It’s damn fast and it’s been fully reliable — for me.

Seriously.
You talk a lot of nonsense for someone who doesnt know anything about another person since I own a X since launch and I also happen to own the AirPods so my point still stands, Samsung devices cap more technology inside than any iPhone ever will, dont forget where your "X" screen comes from.
Also FaceId isnt perfect in fact Touch ID is miles better since its faster and doesnt get tricked by a twin. ;)

I'll give you the OS updates but how do you know you are totally safe on Apple's side? What proof do you have that your data is private and not used by Apple? Tim Cook's interviews? Apple's terms and conditions would love to have a talk with you.

Not taking anything away from the note 9, but it’s an opinion about who has more technology. Depends on what is important.

I use split screen multi tasking on my S9+ and Note 8 with no issues at all. I'm 35 with a cateract in one eye!

No doubt you'll sing the praises if this comes to iPhones.

Technology it’s not about what’s important it’s what’s the best available on the market and that’s what Samsung has been offering compared to Apple period.

why are u even expecting them to? They dont produce the OS and the product as Google and Apple do. So you are always going to have fragmentation.

You know Apple and Samsung users have to learn to appreciate each other and respect their products. Both companies have made significant impacts to the cellular world and continue to do so. As an iPhone user it’s sickening seeing Apple users sit on their imaginary throne of excellence looking down on Samsung and Android users. Likewise Android users shouldn’t act smarter than iPhone users. To each his own! I personally was wowed by this announcement by Samsung and am going to jump ship. Apple’s inability to make a long lasting battery is baffling and their camera is definitely not pleasing. iPhone and Android users are worst than Democrats and Republicans!
