I did this...

I watched a hands-on video of the Note Edge, and then a video of any other phone without the curved display.

Now I must admit, the phones without the curved display looks ancient and something seems to be missing.

We're in a new era here folks!

The Gear VR was very unexpected. With that super crazy 2560 x 1440 Amoled display in the Note 4 movies will be iMax quality every where you go when using the VR. This could also take gaming to a new level.
Apple better impress next week. Not sure if they can top the Note 4 and Gear VR combo.

By the way..Apple Stock is getting trashed today on Samsung's news. About to break below $99

The main reason the stock is down today is because analyst today said to sell. They said that it's doubtful that reality can match the hype before the September 9th announcement and that the stock will go down in the short run.

yo i heard you like screens so we put a screen in your screen so you can screen while screening

So, let me get this straight: Samsung releases 1 big phone, THEN releases another, JUST THE SAME, but with a curved edge, for extra stuff?

See, this is why its Samsung, and not Apple. Apple would be confident that people, for example, would love the curved device, and so wouldn't bother offering twice. It's like Samsung is afraid that people would like just the regular one, and not the Curved one. If so, why bother developing the curved one in the first place...

20+ mins of cheesy music whilst they make people wait for their "event" to begin? Who decides to allow uploads of keynotes that have all that empty space at the beginning? If that wasn't bad enough, the "event" itself just takes the biscuit... LOL

They don't even introduce the keynote at the beginning, they just have some hipsters playing some awkward, pretentious music... WHAT IS THIS NONSENSE? LOL!

:D:D

I know I kept skipping forward searching for when the keynote was going to begin. It makes me wonder if they had more to show but they had to hack parts of the presentation out at the last minute. But why hack at the beginning? It may be that the phones were crashing and needed a last minute update. Weird.

Some things were interesting. Many were gimmicky. Like all keynotes it is overloaded with self aggrandizing and exaggeration. I liked the multi-tasking but hated the pen but they showed that you really can't do what they want without a pen and even then it wasn't perfect. The wrap around screen is a novelty I can do without. The only time I see it as useful would be in a boring meeting but you would stand out in a bad way by staring at your phone on the table during the meeting. The problem I see is screen protection and building a case for it that doesn't cover the side.

I confess that I gave up watching as it was too painful. I saw the introduction of the Occulus but missed it in the presentation. Was there something more?

In the end I'll wait to see what Apple has next week and lick my Apple stock wounds today. Ouch! I didn't see a big reason for Apple's stock dropping today on this news.

I will never go back to an iPhone after using the Galaxy S5 for the past six months. Unreal screen, unreal battery life and charging speeds, being water resistant, and the customization of Android. Plus, iOS is the same old same old. Capable yes, but totally boring.

Swarovski?

Lol, did you guys see the hideous Swarovski crystal encrusted band they made for the S Watch?! *shudder*

Yes, because choice is bad, right?

Some people will never understand the benefit until Apple makes a similar move. Then it will suddenly become wonderful, awesome, magnificent etc.

I'm not trying to bash it at all....it was a real question. You can get rid of some physical buttons but that's all I can see

Is this new note a 64-bit phone?

I'm actually glad that Samsung did not do 64 bit. It should go first in the Nexus phone or tablet with proper amounts of ram (4GB) running stock Android as the template. Google should lead first and Samsung (and others) should follow.

It's called giving customers a choice.
I understand this concept is alien to many here, and you should let someone decide on the 1 item you all should buy.

Bit like Apple is your parents and giving you the child the 1 item they have decided is best for you.

Only real difference there is your parents are hopefully doing it as they feel its best for you, whereas the harsh reality is Apple do it, as it' far easier to manufacture just 1 or 2 products and force you to buy that or have nothing as it makes them maximum profit.
