I'm not sure apple will top it next week when they announce the 5.5" will be coming out "sometime in October"

Eddy cue said that 2014 pipeline is the best he jas seen in 25 years. He didnt say it
without reason. Trust me, apple is prepareing something big and they are going to kill this samsung phones

Last year Tim cook said apple was introducing brand new products also, guess what? Nothing happened

I doubt there is an iWatch, the conference will be iOS 8 recap, 4.7/5.5 announced with them saying 5.5" will arrive next month

No surprises

And, last year. . .

Finger print scanner !

Nothing like giving us a feature no one asked for..

You fail to see the grand scheme of things:

Apple decided a few years ago to embark on a mobile payment system.

Three things were needed to accomplish this:

Capture the Merchants: Apple would have to negotiate with merchants like VISA, AMEX, MC and others and convince them to adopt the concept and be onboard. (After all, what good is mobile payment if no one accepts it?..Google wallet ring a bell?)

Secure the Mobile Transaction: the Touch ID (Fingerprint scanner) of the iPhone 5S is the ideal method to authenticate/protect mobile transactions from unauthorized use. Even though the mobile payment system was not ready there is no harm in having consumers use this feature (massive scale QA/Testing) a year in advance (in turn securing some iPhones from prying eyes) before introducing the mobile payment feature.

The Hardware: Apple could have easily added NFC to the iPhone 5S but it would suit no purpose. It makes more sense to include it in the iPhone 6 to complete the puzzle.

Touch ID + NFC + Mobile Payment = great new feature for the new iPhone.

P.S. Let's not forget that Apple may not be the 1st to do something but when they do it, they do it great and people jump aboard.

A 5.5 inch iPhone will outsell the Note 4 at least 5-1, bye bye Samsung

Maybe, if it has a stylus and can run Android. You do realize that people buy Android phones because they want Android phones, right? Especially when discussing "enthusiast" models such as the Note.

----------

Because a PHONE needs 3GB of RAM and a QHD display?

No, a PHONE needs neither RAM nor a display at all. A smartphone however gets better the more you have of both.

I've never owned an iPhone, but as long as Apple does what Apple does, they're gonna be just fine. iPhone 5/5s was way behind on specs compared to all the 2013 Android flagships and it performed and sold just fine. I used to hate on Apple, but I finally saw the light. They make high quality products that "work", and they often lead the market in technology that actually matters ( IPS display panels ). If anything Android is starting to fall behind, just as they were starting to pull ahead. Phone specs peaked in 2013 as far as I'm concerned, and instead of working on improving things like the camera, they're throwing 1440P into phones just to show "progress/improvement" .

Disclosure: I own an HTC One M7

Since when did Apple make IPS panels? They use panels from LG, Samung.. etc.

Uh, most people buy Android phones because of the screen size and price.

A REAL Android enthusiast would get a Nexus phone that comes with the AOSP version of Android not a Samsung phone that has Crapwhiz installed on top of Android.

The 90's called...they want their stylus back.

Greatest stylus ever made - your own digits. Never have to order one, it's right there as long as you don't stick them where you can lose them. Versatile it's not just great for typing, perfect for gestures amongst other things.

Except they're crummy for doing stuff like writing on a screen .. which is mostly the point of said stylus.

1.9 GHz octo-core, erm am i the only one to be confused as to why you would ever need those clock speeds?

I mean my laptop is a dual core 2.6ghz and is blazing fast. These ridiculous chips have to be for spec wankers don't they because real world usage means they are running at much lower clock speeds anyway so they don't kill a battery in minutes!

Samsung is like an old style tech company that adds any old thing they can because it because viable to make it without asking themselves why they wanted it in there. I just don't understand anything they're about and the touchjizz UI overlay is looking more and more like bits of iOS, like the camera and time & date parts have been tweaked to look more like it.

So you're the one still using a dual core :p

I'd love a 5.5 iPhone or iPad with the s-pen functionality. I'm going against Steve on this when he said all you need is your finger. Which I think is good for most things but at times a pen is alot nicer.

I love using my Jot Bluetooth Stylus in not taking and drawing apps. However I'd like Apple to integrate this stuff into iOS.

Uh, no. The Note is definitely not cheap and the screen isn't particularly big for a big screened phone, but it is quite a bit bulkier than your basic 4.5-5 incher.

People buy the 200-300 €/$ phones for their price. The Note costs more than an iPhone, so price is obviously not a factor there.

Oh, and Apple has their cheapo iPhones, the 4 and 4s which are still sold. Yet people still choose Androids over them.

I don't even know why people make these ridiculous claims. Android isn't outselling iPhone something like 7:1 because nobody wants it. You'd think that would be obvious to everyone.

And so great at taking notes and making drawings on a small screen... not.

I have tried duplicating handwriting and drawing on cell phones and tablets with my fingers since the first iPhone came. And it is always a clumsy and largely useless experience on par with a slow 3 year old childs drawings.

Even the worst stylus (even a dumb one that just acts like a tiny finger on the screen without any extra functionality) is way better for lots of tasks. And that again is of course blown away by a pressure sensitive stylus - like the ones on the Note series.

All they did was vomit a bunch of mediocre products in a presentation that was more awkward than sex on prom night. I watched it to entertain myself. Apple's presentation next week, however, I'll be watching to see what day I need to take off work to get the iPhone 6.

Oh? Did your fingers come with 2048 pressure levels, pencil sized tip and palm rejection? Because mine sure didn't.

A finger is the worst stylus ever made. Well, maybe except for your nose. Or your penis.

In my opinion the finger is not so good for note taking or drawing. For most other use cases I agree the finger works best.

Is that compared to a single Android device? I feel like I see far more Android handsets in the hands of people than I do iPhones. But either way it doesn't matter to me .. use what you like. I've owned every single iPhone so far (the 6 will be my first I don't own), so I try to keep up with each OS.

I am comparing to Samsung S and Note series. Since they are going after the same market (users that will pay $200+ for a smart phone.)

Haha. Much like your experience on prom night, others may not share the same views about the quality of products Samsung has regurgitated.

My penis has produced works of art in snow hundreds of times!
