But at the same time Sony had a big event and Asus released a decent looking smartwatch. My issue with MacRumors is that they only focus on Samsung and no one else. To me it's either you do everybody or you just talk about Apple. Tomorrow Motorola is going to have a big event and I doubt that we will see any news on that front.
Should just call the site MacSamRumors or is that SamMacRumors?

Well yeah, that's true. The Sony curved watch looked really awesome. So I agree with that, would have been nice to see it too.

Look at my signature. "Apple ecosystem" is marketing, a myth.
I don't need an iPhone to work with my Macbook Air.

Android File Transfer is not what we could call a "working solution". My Windows 8 VM has way better interoperability with Android phones.

Personally, I find the aesthetics of the device a bit off and don't really see what others are saying about its look, but that's just me.

As for the functionality, I don't really see much usage for it other than the cool factor. I wonder how annoying(or not) it would be to look at a curved surface with such radius. Also, can the curved part of the screen wake up independently from the flat part? If so, it may be useful at times when you just want a quick glance of notifications or system setting toggles. It would also save battery usage rather than turn on the Note's huge display.

Uh, no. The Note is definitely not cheap and the screen isn't particularly big for a big screened phone, but it is quite a bit bulkier than your basic 4.5-5 incher.

People buy the 200-300 €/$ phones for their price. The Note costs more than an iPhone, so price is obviously not a factor there.

Oh, and Apple has their cheapo iPhones, the 4 and 4s which are still sold. Yet people still choose Androids over them.

I don't even know why people make these ridiculous claims. Android isn't outselling iPhone something like 7:1 because nobody wants it. You'd think that would be obvious to everyone.

- The cheapest iPhone being offered right now is the 4S which costs $450.00 on Apple's website and at least $300.00 on other sites I've searched. In what world is this considered a "cheap" phone?

- It's no secret that over 60% of Android phones being sold have a screen size of 4.7" or larger. Hate to tell you but the driving force behind Android phone sales isn't the operating system it's the bigger screen and this is why Apple is introducing a larger iPhone.

You will see the market share shift once the iPhone 6 hits shelves. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised at record breaking sales due to not only a NEW iphone but one that has a bigger screen that most people want.

P.S. Does your 7:1 sales claim include under $200.00 Junk android phones? Because Apple doesn't have junk to compete in that marketplace.

With the excption of the Gear VR, seems bored the new samsung products.

Gear VR its be the dealbreaker Here, its the unexpected guy in the battlefield. Just Hearing at my friends to Upgrathe to Note 4 just to try the Gear VR.

While The Note Edge seems intriguing, I dont care about.

For users upgrading from Note 2, the Note IV may look tempting, notwhitstanding note 3 users will not feel so hurry to update their phablets.
Sadly the Note 4 is not Waterproof, this sould be the new std among the industry.

The Gear S, another Lame Wereable, this time with phone (or modem?) on board, less battery life, more useless garbage.

Sony's new Android devices as lame and late as ever.

Sony's Deal Breaker: The QX1 lens camera with interchangeable lenses and DSLR sensor, just Hope sony to launch it along an iPhone client to order one.

Nothing interesting at the rest of IFA launches yet.

Perhaps because you are a mindless Apple fan who hates anything that is not made by Apple?

Ouch...I may need to get some aloe for that burn...I actually like plenty of devices not made by Apple. My Surface Pro 3 is one such device. No, the Note Edge is just a bad design IMO. The Note looks fine, but I see numerous issues with a curved display such as this one. Guarantee it will break the first time it gets dropped on that edge...

That is true. Apple largely cater to those who think a cell phone is a status symbol.

Which I find very odd - I could buy a new unlocked iPhone every ten days all year long and it would still amount to less money than I spend every year for having a nice car and somewhere to live. Compared to other expenses adults with jobs and family have the price of an iPhone is chump change.

Status symbol because of price? Maybe in countries where the average monthly salary is a few hundred dollars, but certainly not in most of the western world.

Here is what you stated before :

The payment system Apple introduces will catch on, is what I meant. I was trying to show how they can make existing technology relevant, which people miss.

Nice Note 4 specs, for an Android you need that much under the hood power for a speedy experience, i'm just wondering do phones really benefit from 518ppi or it's just a marketing thing, isn't 477 PPI the maximum resolution of human eye?

Since when did Apple make IPS panels? They use panels from LG, Samung.. etc.

But they're the ones that really brought IPS displays into the consumer market. Everyone was still using 6 Bit TN panels while Apple was using IPS.

I watched part of their "Keynote" - If you can call it that - and I am confused about the S watch or whatever it is. So you have a watch with a 3G connection and it's own SIM card, so you have another device on your bill. I feel that giving this watch it's own 3G connection (while it would be useful) is making it seem like bringing your 5.7" phablet with you everywhere is a pain (and I am sure that it is).:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Isn't it 300? Crap, can we just settle on whatever the iPhone's PPI is and just call it a day? Everyone's going to insult anything that's not identical anyway.

In the United States due to subsidized Carrier pricing you get pick up a iPhone 5C right now for 87 cents with a 2 year contract. iPhone 5S will soon be $99 with a contract and the iphone 6 most likely $199 with a contract.

Unfortunately in countries like India and China you are forced to pay the full retail value of a phone so a $150.00 Android phone sounds much more attractive to the average consumer than a $550.00 phone.

All these websites show statistics of how Android phones are toppling the iphone in Sales! but they are including those junk phones in their math.

Have you ever tried the Moto G? Look me in the eyes and tell me it's junk...

I love samsung's devices have had every phone in the note series. But I hate this edge phone, so impractical to use. They did however say that this will only launch in select markets, so it might not even be out in USA. I am guessing it is more of a beta test than anything else.

apple still uses TN panels in macbook airs.

I'm sure if android was a glorified app drawer then the extra power wouldn't be needed, but fortunately it's much more than that.

Its a new phone running a year old version of the OS. KK was released last Oct LOL. Oh Android, so comical.

Every few months google revises their OS adding more features hence 4.4,4.4.1,4.4.2,etc. 4.4.4 is the latest which is the OS on note 4. The next OS is android L and it is still in beta.

Maybe, if it has a stylus and can run Android. You do realize that people buy Android phones because they want Android phones, right? Especially when discussing "enthusiast" models such as the Note.

I would put money on a 5.5 inch iPhone vastly outselling the Note 4, it won't even be close LOL
