I'm actually kind of glad they're mocking this. If it really is an (unavoidable) issue, Apple should be forced to address it/implement manufacturing processes that permanently fixes the issue. Does that mean suspending the sales of the iPhone 6 Plus temporarily? Maybe...

I for one don't want to wait a month for my Plus to ship only to find that it bent without me doing anything while it was in my pocket or book bag. :(

Samesung shill. Quite a few of them in here too. Check the posting history before replying!

It's okay, companies like Samsung can shell out money to pay private contractors to post negative apple remarks on various Internet forums. The cash will run out soon.

Wow... denial much? Apple has more cash than any company in the world, you truly believe they wouldn't do the same, or haven't?

except, the are beating apple in durability

sales > durability. Anybody could make a phone that would survive being run over by a tank if they wanted to. iphone 6's are plenty durable for me, I don't want them fatter or heavier to be more durable.

This is why we can't have nice things.

This will quickly be forgotten like antennagate.

RIP bendghazi.

True but along with Antennagate, the bent phones and iOS issues, AppleMaps, etc. all put dents (pun intended) in their just works air of perfection persona that so many like to cling to. Apple screws up just like other companies.

There are many questions.
How the story on bendgate was prepared for feed to press; how the journalist FOUND about 1 bent phone; why without ANY proof simultaneously many news sites are INSISTING that the phone was broken WITHOUT any documented proof and that ALL plus models BEND? Who paid for headlines? Who paid for story placement? the news dissemination? It costs a lot, you know. The original website to spread the falsification without proof? Did it have any sponsorship deals with Samsung (on eve of launch their criticized but last hope Note 4?) or Google? Was the origin a trusted source?

Waiting for all the fake attorneys to come to Apple's defense how its not their fault and they shouldn't put a phone in their pocket because they wear skinny jeans!

I have not heard from anyone whose iPhone bent just fom putting it in skinny jeans. The problem is that people put it in their jeans pocket and then SAT on it. I wear fairly tight jeans and I put my 6 Plus in my pockets. Strangely, it is not bent.

If you put a piece of metal in your back pocket and sit on it, do you expect it to bend or not? Show me a phone with an aluminum unibody from another manufacturer that does not bend.

And no, this is not a blind fanboyish Apple defense. You want me to complain about Apple, then I will happily rant about the braunless idiots who greenlighted the release of the epic fail called iOS8.0.1. I am just surprised about people who buy a car, smash the front window and are then surprised that glass actually breaks.

How to make revenue on MacRumors. Add the words "Apple" "Bend" and "Samsung" in the article title, then start collecting DEM delicious PAGEVIEWS.

Seriously?

I genuinely don't care. I still love my 6+.

It's like Antennagate all over again. It genuinely wasn't a big deal. Apple only ****ed up that time when they said "you're holding it wrong".

I'd say, that a phone bending in your pocket is a big deal. I tell you, Apple is already improving the structure for 6plus S, as we speak/write.

Apple made a solid ****-up to make the phone lighter, and everyone is mokcing them. It's fair, it's funny and unfortunately also true.

Life of a billion dollar business

Give the whole issue one to two weeks..It will be forgotten by then.

The companies mocking Apple are actually very afraid of it and have no other arguments.
HTC is dying, LG isn't selling a lot, Samsung has declining sales and is a copycat..
The whole bendgate is just a big farce. Only idiots can believe it..

I would never buy a Samsung phone, but I love their TVs :D

and see I think their TV's are put to shame by Sony who offers a wider and more true color pallet in their LED sets. Samsungs are too punchy and crisp tot he point of over processed in appearance. I ran the two side by side and even had them both calibrated. Sony won.

True, I have 5S and I always pull it out of my pocket while sitting or driving. It is really unpleasant to keep it there. I cannot imagine how awful the humungous 6+ will feel in the pocket!

See, now I don’t take mine out unless using or charging it. Never had a bent one or a problem.

I called Apple yesterday to ask this exact question. After a long time on hold, I was told that a bent iPhone 6 Plus would be covered under a warranty and not under and accidental damage by the user. They did, however, recommend that users have a case on their phone. I have ordered an Apple case, so I assume this should meet their needs.

This right here speaks to me as an admission of guilt on the part of Apple.

I put my iPhone 6 halfway into a vise and then whacked the top with a baseball bat. It didn't hold up too well and I am FURIOUS. I am now going to buy 5 competing phones and see how they each do.

I don't normally like this sort of advertising, but you know what, if it makes Apple suck it up and actually improve their structural integrity then I'm all for it. This has been an embarrassing week to be an Apple fan, with the bending issues, iOS 8 bugs, the update killing phones, the revelation that they've been sitting on information about how iCloud is vulnerable. Cook needs to get his butt in gear.

yeah, super embarrassing... "we sold 10M iphones over the weekend" trumps all the rest of the noise that will be forgotten in days like antennagate.
