I have not heard from anyone whose iPhone bent just fom putting it in skinny jeans. The problem is that people put it in their jeans pocket and then SAT on it. I wear fairly tight jeans and I put my 6 Plus in my pockets. Strangely, it is not bent.

If you put a piece of metal in your back pocket and sit on it, do you expect it to bend or not? Show me a phone with an aluminum unibody from another manufacturer that does not bend.

And no, this is not a blind fanboyish Apple defense. You want me to complain about Apple, then I will happily rant about the braunless idiots who greenlighted the release of the epic fail called iOS8.0.1. I am just surprised about people who buy a car, smash the front window and are then surprised that glass actually breaks.

See, you're logical and practical and I have no gripes with your post. I agree, if you sit on it rather than put it in your pocket, WTF do you expect?

iOS 8.0.1... that was a joke!

The best thing about all of this is the meltdown of the fanatical and paranoid fanboys. Oh the injustice of it all (pot kettle). Phones bending easier than your tin foil hats ;)

Just chill, people. This kind of mockery will eventually help Apple improve such fiasco's in in the future.

These mockery's are constructive in a way.

Besides, if LG or Samsung had this issue wouldn't you be all over it?

To be fair, Apple deserve all the bad publicity they can get at the minute. I have an iPhone 6 Plus and I have to say, I am far from impressed.

Samesung shill. Quite a few of them in here too. Check the posting history before replying!

It's okay, companies like Samsung can shell out money to pay private contractors to post negative apple remarks on various Internet forums. So much spending, no selling, no margins - the cash will run out soon.

One thing android and apple fans have in common is their obsession with the iPhone.

You are not helping on the Apple user PR, with your inner hate towards the free market and the rules every multi-capital company play by. Like Apple is the only "true" solution and everyone is just a wannabe product.
Grow up. ;)

I had an iPhone 5S that bent. My own stupid fault for putting it in my back pocket and sitting on it repeatedly. Apple still gave me a new phone under warranty no questions asked.

Yes, yes the would be the 1st to bash them and they are the first to bash them even when Apple has made a mistake. I agree with you though.

Samsung is correct, they don't bend, they crack.

Can't count how many times our IT department has had to send out multiple user's Galaxy Note phones to have screen replacements.

No doubt the Note is more durable, but for Samsung to act as if their products are idi......bullet proof, is a bit of a stretch. Any of these large screen portable devices are going to be susceptible to damage.

As for Apple, I hope they do a quick revision change on the 6+ . Perhaps remove a bit of battery capacity, to put in a thick internal aluminum spine, or something to make it a bit more rigid.

I know more people with Android devices that iDevices but a much higher percentage of damaged screens on iPhones including in our IT dept.
Anecdotal evidence eh.

At the same time, BlackBerry CEO John Chen mentioned the bending issue during the company's launch of its new Passport handset, saying "I challenge you to bend the Passport,"

Might be a bad idea to challenge someone to bend your phone because I expect it will happen now.

Oh, cheap phone makers are jumping on Apple because an iPhone can be bent?

The phrase "Methinks thou dost protest too much" comes to mind.

Maybe I'm lucky, but I have a Galaxy Note I bought nearly the launch date (late-2011) and it never cracked. I don't use any case and sometimes I drop it.

beat Apple? I forgot iOS devices dominate the global market share... OH WAIT.

Is Apple going to get a patent for this "bend" feature? ROFL.

Android dominates the global market share, you are right. On an individual phone basis, iPhone dominates. For example, the 2 new iPhones sold 10 million units in 3 days. It took the Galaxy S5, Samsung's best seller, 25 days to sell that many, despite being released in 140 more countries. I'd say there is a clear leader. This is the same reason every other phone manufacturer attacks Apple. Ever heard someone say that if someone is trying to bring you down, it's because you are already above them? That applies here.

Might be a bad idea to challenge someone to bend your phone because I expect it will happen now.

It will be hard to find someone to bend the Blackberry Passport because nobody has one. It is probably one of the dumbest designs I have ever seen for a phone.

The world is a ridiculous place

where businesses act like 4th graders.

Adults never grow up...

Once again, this is why I never buy a new Apple design. ALWAYS kinks to work out. That said, I expect this problem to disappear fairly quickly (and definitely by the time I get my 6s ;)).

I for one don't want to wait a month for my Plus to ship only to find that it bent without me doing anything while it was in my pocket or book bag. :(

it's not going to bend in your pocket or book bag unless you subject it to extreme force, just like macbook airs and ipad minis bend in book bags. If you have loose pants or don't sit recklessly, it should be fine.

They're not going to suspend sales or anything crazy, people were calling for it with antennagate too.

What fault? That's normal phone usage.

yeah, super embarrassing... "we sold 10M iphones over the weekend" trumps all the rest of the noise that will be forgotten in days like antennagate.

I said it's embarrassing to be an Apple fan. Why should I care how many units they sold? Bully for them, but if they have crappy quality I care far more about that than about their sales. Phones should not bend in pockets, updates should not kill cellphone service, iCloud hacks should be fixed. Period. Apple needs to shape up and I'm saying that as someone who owns an Apple tv, router, laptop and iPhone.

Seriously, try pulling 'well they sold ten million' on someone who isn't a stockholder or who isn't a fan of the company. It's not going to go over well and it does nothing to actually defend Apple. It's meaningless.

"Apple reportedly is looking into the issue "with an insane amount of detail."

Huh? This wasn't done during development and testing? Oh I forgot, this is how it must have done down at Apple..

Cook/Schiller : Jony, we think the phone is too thin.. perhaps increase the thickness for some more rigidity?

Jony : "When a produkt is held in your hands, it should become seamless and invisible even to the user so all he sees is the intent of the produkt and not the produkt itself..."

Cook/Schiller : Well jony.. stop.We get it.. okay okay...lets stick with what we got.

Jobs Ghost: Are you effing kidding me? It looks like the Reynolds aluminum foil! Make it like a solid piece of slab like the 4s! Feels good in your hands and is strong and gets a great battery life...

Cook/Schiller : Jony did you notice the chills we got a while ago?

Jony : Yes, its the inherent beauty of an objekt that can simulate the sixth sense in your.....

Coo/Schiller : Huh.. yeah yeah right.. we are heading to the cafeteria for some lunch. Carry on!

You can infer whatever you like, I never stated that the iPhone was more durable. I simply stated that Samsung devices aren't perfect either.

If I didn't spell it out clearly in my post, I think Apple could have done better.

Give the whole issue one to two weeks..It will be forgotten by then.

The companies mocking Apple are actually very afraid of it and have no other arguments.
HTC is dying, LG isn't selling a lot, Samsung has declining sales and is a copycat..
The whole bendgate is just a big farce. Only idiots can believe it..
You make it really easy calling idiots people that doesn't think like you. I hope you are right about the farce.
