I don't go trolling in forums for devices that I don't enjoy using, so I have no idea what is being said in the Samsung, Android, Microsoft, etc., fanboy boards. But, by all means, enjoy your time here! ;)

As far as Samsung goes... People are very suspicious of them because they have copied Apple products. That is not just me and the so-called Apple fanboys saying that. Apple won an historic lawsuit with one of the biggest monetary awards ever. Other Samsung products (like the Chromebook Series 3) "borrow" heavily from Apple's designs, and then a Samsung watch is released after the press writes tomes about a rumored Apple iWatch. Now, a larger Samsung tablet is released after several months of speculation (the original mention was in May 2013) that Apple is possibly producing a larger iPad. Sure, some Apple fanboys are irritating, but I don't blame them for being a wee bit suspicious of Samsung's motives and business practices. If it bothers you so much, you can simply read other forums. Right?

And, really, require Facebook? That is absurd.

If this out this world statement is true, then Apple is the BIGGEST sloth there is. It gets beaten everytime in coming out with a new product. Apple is so pathetic.

Huh? I will grant you that Apple doesn't rush products out, and very often takes an existing product and releases something than many argue to be better. But I do not think Apple can (usually) be accused of taking a design of a competitor and blatantly copying it.

Apple is so pathetic? How so?

As a long time apple user, and a shareholder i could not care less whether apple comes out first with a product or not..As the ipod, ipad, and iphone lines have shown, apple creates a huge market with its products which are usually not the first portable mp3 players, smartphones or tablets in the market..It has established itself as being the defining force of the market (shaping the marketing size, scope and driving innovation and development trends industry wide) time and time over and that is what i am interested in i.e. the ability of apple to periodically come out with new product categories that shake up the market...

If people here really believe this nonsense it is clear that they live inside an Apple only bubble and they don't know anything about the real world

Samsung has been making different device sizes for years and Samsung has made smartwatches before.

Do you believe that Sony or Motorola also copied the ****ing Apple smartwatch rumor?

And there were 13" Android tablets on the market as early as January 2013. Were they also "copying" Apple or is that only Samsung? Or does this mean that Apple copied those early large Android tablets? No, Apple didn't copy Archos and Kocaso, because they suck, right? And Apple couldn't be copying them because they haven't released a bigger iPad. But Samsung still have copied Apple with these larger tablets?

Why do you bother so much if some of us think this "Samsung copied Apples rumored iPad Pro" sounds like a tin foil theory? I love my iPhone and iPad (even though I miss some functionality from my previous Android devices and would like that also). But even though I like my iDevices I'm still able to appreciate some things other manufacturers make, am not forced to hate Android/Samsung and can even be sceptical to some iDevices/iDevice features or other Apple products. That doesn't make me a Apple hater or a troll.

Lots of negative comments here and criticisms. While Samsung is guilty of copying Apple in the beginning, they are beginning to diverge and create products ahead of Apple. The 4-app ability to multitask is actually amazing, and the one-app-at-a-time approach of the current iOS will feel dated and too limiting once multiple apps at once become the norm. Windows has it. Samsung has it. I'm sorry, but this is leaving iOS is the dust in that one area. I'd love to be able to interact with a website while in a FaceTime video call at the same time (and still see the other person).

I've been demanding this ever since becoming an iOS user, before Android implemented it, before manufacturers implemented it with their own shells and mods on Android, before Windows Phone 8.

Hey, is the experience optimal? No? Well instead of making this optional for those who need it, let's force everyone to the same compromise.
Too bad the product isn't optimal still, just for a select other group.

Sorry, but if tablets are supposed to come anywhere NEAR replacing PCs they need true multi-tasking and much more capabilities in order to execute apps in the background without an egg timer calling the deathsman or depending on a server to push something my way.

Yes, tablets are not supposed to be PCs, but you know what, some things NEED to be carried over.
And what's the big deal with better storage options?
Liberate my data from the built-in storage, I hate wireless disks that want me to use proprietary apps.

Yes, I have a Mac, so the limitations affect me not as much, also I'm not the one to replace my Mac with a tablet, but Jesus Christ... I'm not asking for much here really.

Apple copycats...REALLY...where can I buy a 12" Apple iPad - I just looked in the store this morning and didn't see one - spiking the Apple juice this early in the morning - fanboyz are are downright funny!

Did you not actually read / understand my post? Instead of being copycats they are acting as placeholders this time. Giving consumers something to look at until Apple releases a better and more thought out product.

It was a simple one line sentence...

I really wish Apple updates their MBAs. I could not (as of the moment) envision the full advantage of having a 12-13" "PRO" tablet aside from presentations. Still, I'd be doing my presentations on my MBP or PC and just slap the end product on my tablet. For gaming, I'd still stick with my consoles/PC. Portable device for movies? I'd still stick with my iPad Mini Retina.

An iPad Pro with a pen integration that is somewhere near the precision of a Bamboo/ Intuos would be a nice feature and would be a huge plus for industry professionals such as graphic designers, architects, interior designers, etc. If Apple can do this I would change my mind about the Pro. A micro USB + microSD slot would be really great but I doubt Apple would do that.

Comeon. Anyone with even the tiniest bit of a sense of humor and common sense should see right through all the jokes. I doubt a single person here actually believes I work for Samsung.

...but Samcraig does. Think about it. Samcraig. Samsung. Uh huh. He's that spy I was talking about earlier. Also he started Antennagate.

ROFLMAO!! He did start Antnnagate! And the name is a dead give away. :D

Hey, guy's good at what he does.

...but he's not very subtle, admittedly. :p

It's all good - When I'm on an android forum, my screen name is either TimCraig or AppCraig.

And I didn't start it - Steve did. I simply asked him if Apple was looking into the issue...

If you have read my posts in this thread, you will see that I do not think Samsung copied Apple in regards to their new tablets. And you will also see that I really don't care if they copy Apple or anybody else, as long as it does not violate patents. Apple obviously does this as well.

But I also understand why some people are skeptical when it comes to Samsung, because they have copied Apple in the past. And, yes, I am only refering to Samsung products.

I do think people actually believe Samsung copied Apple, and I understand why they think that. But I also don't care. Samsung can copy anyone's products they like, as long as it is done legally. I have stated that all along in this thread.

I knew you'd know it was all in good fun. Issue, what issue? There was no issue.:D

Renzatic and AppleScruff1... Please... Get a room! ;)

Hell no! I bet the first thing he'll do is eat all my cereal, then not buy any more to replace it. I hate that so much.

I was, like, totally dead serious about the whole thing.

And why as a consumer do I care how much profit Apple makes? I'd much rather that my iPad Air was capable of multi-tasking. But that's just me. If Apple makes 8 gazillion dollars it didn't put a slice of bread on my table.

That is not entirely true. Apple would pay some US Tax on 8 Gazillion Dollars without a doubt. A fraction of this would go toward Agricultural Subsidies. The grains produced theoretically could be enough for a slice of bread. I don't mean to sound over confident, but I actually see a Bagel on your plate. Cheer up. :apple:

Wow. That's a stretch. They probably contributed to about 1/1000th of that bagel on his desk.

Because Apple thought of a larger tablet first?

No be cause it's clear that one of their main goals is to continue pissing Apple of by doing this type of stuff with entire world watching. It's not about stealing. It's more about how they are stealing.

Although i really do not care what and how samsung came out the conclusion that they needed a larger tabs some of the defense is rather amusing..No one is claiming that the apple rumours about a larger tablet infact mean that no one apart from apple first thought of a larger tablet..If the Galaxy S5 F comes out in Gold i bet some Sammy fans would claim that they did not get "inspired" by the 5s but by the gold phones that came before the 5s..

I am a long time Apple user. I had the first iPhone and bought each new one that came out, and a lot of computers over the years). I recently had to switch to the Surface Pro at work (from a MBP). I also recently switched to the Galaxy Note 3 by my own choice (was carrying an iPhone and an iPad mini around the office everyday and wanted to try consolidating to one device).

Frankly having come from Apple to these other two platforms, my overall preference is the Apple ecosystem. It syncs better, FT is better than Skype IMO, iMessage destroys normal texting (didn't realize how much I'd miss iMessage), iphoto/imovie are sorely missed, and overall it's just a smoother experience. My home computer and wife's computer are still Macs and we won't be changing anytime soon.

Having said that, there are plenty of things that these other two platforms do better that I wish Apple would copy. The screen real estate and S pen on the Note 3 is a big difference maker for me, a business user. Managing my inbox is much easier on it. The note taking ability is huge. As for the Surface Pro, Microsoft's OneNote software is simply amazing when combined with the Surface Pro. I wish I could edit and mark up documents so easily on an iPad. Frankly, I think that s Pen/stylus integration is huge for business users (I'm only 36 so it's not like I'm some old fart who doesn't understand that stylus' are supposed to be "outdated.") When Apple finally wakes up to this and integrates one, should I scold Apple for "copying" or should I applaud them for making their product more useful? How about the rumored larger screen on the iPhone 6? I myself laughed at and mocked the Galaxy Note when it came out, but I own one and love it. Apple is clearly "copying" Samsung...where are the Apple faithful? I bet a large number will buy them and love them; and that's the way it should be. Screaming "copy" is silly.

I was never able to go fully paperless with my mac and ipad. I was always printing stuff out to mark it up or spending way too much time fighting touch interfaces or editing software to make it happen. Now I simply "print to one note" and mark up easy peesy with the stylus. Then I email back and I'm done. I never touch paper and it's extremely fast. Apple needs to that happen for business folks. I got good at using Quoppo's PDF studio on my Mac, but it's still not as fast as the stylus on the Surface Pro. So please, Apple, just like you are copying Samsung with a larger iPhone screen (after you comment that the current size is "perfect" mind you), please do it again and copy the stylus integration and larger screen on the ipad. I won't bitch that you're copying, I promise. I'll just enjoy an even better product.

Has Samsung copied Apple on several products? Of course they have, but they drastically improved their products in doing so. Apple deserves all the credit in the world or completely revolutionizing the smart phone, the tablet and the whole app store concept (both hardware and interfaces). Samsung (and others...Google, Kindle, etc) had no choice but to copy many of those ideas; Apple was that far ahead.

The problem is that too many people on this forum are waaaaay too wrapped up in the "copy" notion and carry into every thought they have. Seriously folks, how long has the iWatch been talked about? How long has the iPad Pro been being talked about? It takes a really long time to design something, set up partners for the supply of parts not made in house and then set up tooling, manufacturing and packing for everything. IOW, Samsung has been working on this for sometime. To think they heard of the Apple rumors and went screaming to the drawing the board and got all that work done in a year or two is crazy, and frankly arrogant of some people. Samsung has been working on this stuff longer than we've been discussing the iWatch and iPad Pro, there's just too much work that had to be done for them to bring them to market that quickly.

So relax, everyone copied Apple when they revolutionized the industry. But that doesn't mean that no one else is creative or capable of coming up with better ideas than Apple. As I mentioned, I was shocked to find out how much better some of the function of my Surface and Note 3 are. Apple needs to do a little copying of others IMO. Fan boys line up on each side and just shout at each other. I've been in both worlds extensively lately and each side can claim they do things better than the other; I've experienced it first hand. Everyone copies other products, even Apple. Lastly, assuming that companies make decisions based exclusively off what other companies are doing says nothing except for that persons' lack of experience in corporate decision making and nothing else. I hope those screaming that Samsung went running to copy Apple are adolescents still living at home and not actual adults. I hope actual adults wouldn't be that short sighted.

Sorry for a long post. I don't usually post, just read a lot. This whole "copy!!!!!!!" crap is just a little out hand and prompted me to post. Give credit where it's due, enjoy the progress of the industry as a whole and let's not get too wrapped up in this whole gang thing...that's what sports are for :) Tech is about progress and the end users getting better products for less money. There's no teams in this stuff and trying to make it otherwise is silly and only serves to limit our area in the never ending search for better gadgets and tools. I was forced to use the Surface and man has my mind been opened. I would have NEVER bought one myself because my MBP was the "best." At home, I still think it is, but at work...there's no way I'd go back to my MBP. Explore people, don't worry about what team your on, just explore and enjoy.

Apple at CES?

Did Apple have a stall at CES 2014? Or are they keeping all of their amazing ideas under lock and key, so nobody will steal them?

Tenterhooks.....

Dude. My phone can be a mother****ing TV remote.

I don't know why anyone would buy an iPhone when you can get the clearly superior Samsung™ Galaxy® 4G LTE™ Snapdragon™ NFC© Quad-Core® PenTile™ 128 GB, now with TV Remote Plus.™

I can control my Apple TV 3 with my iPhone and iPad. I can airplay my video content to the tv as well with my iPhone, which I do a lot if I have not loaded the movie or show into iTunes yet. The only advantage I see at the moment for getting a samsung model phone would be the larger screen. I keep playing with the idea though to switch from my iPhone to a samsung galaxy phone though. I was thinking about doing it next year after we find out if the new iPhone 6 will have a larger screen. If it doesn't then I might try switching then.

Still not giving up my iPad though.
