I was going to try it but they said the device was not available, there goes your chance Samsung.

Well, actually, Samsung has had for example
- 4K video recording two YEARS before Apple (assuming the iPhone 6s does receive 4K)
- dual camera access for at least two YEARS before Apple (assuming the iPhone 6s does receive dual camera access - it's highly unlikely)
- Qi charging at least one YEAR before Apple (assuming the iPhone 6s does receive Qi charging)
- fully Wacom-compatible(!) pen for at least four YEARS before Apple (assuming the iPad Pro indeed has a decent, active pen, and not just a useless capacitive one)
etc.

Oh boy... Here come the spec sheets! :D

My point was... a new iPhone comes out in a month. iPhones tend to sell in huge numbers immediately.

Samsung is basically throwing a hail-mary pass right before an iPhone launch trying to get people into a Samsung.

I hope, for their sake, they sign up a lot of people soon. Because the closer we get to an iPhone launch... and for many months after... Apple sucks all the oxygen out of the room.

BTW... don't you think it's funny that Samsung phones have all those amazing features you listed... yet their sales are struggling?

Clearly those features aren't the magic bullet you think they are.

Everyone I know who switched from an iPhone to an Android has regretted it. One did it deliberately for 2 years so he could push back on Fandroids from a position of strength and came away saying it was even more painful than he expected.
Given the high satisfaction rates among iPhone owners (something like 98%), and the lack of any motivation whatsoever for a regular user to take it up - beyond the techno-masochists wanting to make a point - I don't see this being a very successful promotion.
More evidence Samsung just "don't get it."
They do give people a free chance to try their phones and truly know how much it really sucks and how badly they will hate it. It looks like a smart move, but it is not. It's like a Korean car company offering a Porsche owner a free trial time, and we can guess how it will end. But I admit that it is an innovative move:)

Competition is good and your analogy is "half right," in the sense that iPhone users are a cult following, like those who buy Porsche. For one, there's only 1 flavor of device with 1 iOS, whereas Android users have a variety to choose from.

It's okay to have an opinion, but there's a fine line between a logical one vs one that's way off base. We Apple users are pretty much in a cult following whether we'd like to admit it or not haha....

Nexus devices get updated the same way as iPhones, i.e. no OEM bloatware or extras and on day one... This was mentioned in response to folks cribbing about Android devices not getting timely updates.

As someone who owns both the iPhone 6 and a Nexus 5 I must say that unfortunately this isn't the case as even Nexus devices are subject to the staggered rollout Google does, so when a patch goes live on some day, you have to be rather lucky to get that patch on the same day. It often takes days or even weeks before the update hits your device unless you hunt down the OTA image URL, unlock the bootloader and sideload the update (not "quite" as user-friendly as hitting the update button). That delay of days or weeks is a short one compared to months or years (or even not getting it all) of other manufacturers, but it's far from perfect and it's not on par with the iPhone, where the update is either released or not released. There's no "it's released if you win in a magic device ID lottery" middle ground nonsense involved.

Those extra days felt extra long when waiting for the Stagefright fix. The patch was out, but my Nexus kept on insisting it was up to date.

The iPhone has always sold well due to the tight nitch following that it has. It's no surprise in any way. So for the iOS lovers, there's really no competition for Apple because there's not other choice. Whereas, Samsung is one of many in the Android market so there's a lot of competition going on there. Regardless, they are still huge and what a lot of Apple lovers fail to see is how we're all related in one way or another. It's undeniable.

So it doesn't matter if Samsung Phone sales are up and down, because they are benefiting from the success of Apple with the iPhone, regardless.

Samsung and its fellow countryman of a cousin (LG) makes up a large portion of Apple products DNA.

1. iPhone's Memory, Motherboard and Chipset = Made by: Samsung.
2. iPhone's IPS Display = Made by: LG and/or Sharp. (Samsung owns a large chunk of Sharp)
3. iPhone's Battery Cell = Made by: LG.
4. iPhone's Touch Display Technology = Invented and sold to Apple by a Korean genius, which that same technology is now being used in the US military.
5. iPhone's A8 CPU = Made: by Samsung.

6. All the new A9 Chipsets will be made by Samsung. (Used in iPads, iPhones etc...)
7. Samsung will also be making all of SnapDragon's 820 Mobile Phone CPU.

As you can see, the better Apple does = the better Samsung does as well. The mobile division is only a portion of the corporate conglomerate.

I don't think a lot of Apple fanatics know this....yet a lot of folks on here are spilling so much unnecessary hatred without realizing that the very iPhone or Apple device we're using is well....pretty much Made by....Samsung.

They are a global leader in Screen and Memory technology among many other things.

So we can hate all we want, but just remember, at the end of the day it's like hating on your own cousin....same blood line whether we like it or not.

I love my Apple (As you can see from my sig.) and me personally, I just choose to keep it real and be thankful for anyone who helps make it the amazing product it is.

Iphone 4S and iPad 2 will receive iOS 9 with no delays, no bloatware. Wake me up when Android keeps 5 year old devices secure and up to date.

So 2 iOS devices are comparible to every single Android device now? Also not all iOS devices are updated, unlike Nexus devices which are. In fact Android supports Nexus devices better then Apple supports iOS devices.

If you had out Samsung instead of the generilastion Android in you're post you would have been correct.

Unfortunately they are not the killer features you are hoping they are. The majority care more about the better core experience you get with iPhone rather than good but fairly useless features like 4K recording when virtually no one has a 4K TV, slow inefficient wireless charging and ooohh wow the jewel on the crown, the feature we've all been waiting for - being able to take front facing and backward facing photos at the same time..... o_O

I had to chuckle when I saw this promo. I actually switched to the S6 a few months ago when my iPhone 6 plus became a hassle to carry around. Didn't care too much for the UI or google play, and the iPhone just felt more premium and comfrtable in my hand. Nail in the coffin for the Galaxy was realizing that I couldn't use Apple's music app anymore, which admittedly has become cluttered over the years, but still my favorite way to listen to music and seamless when it comes to syncing from my macbook. So I returned the S6 and bought a regular iPhone 6, and quickly realized hey it actually fits in my pocket, been content every since. :D

I order mine, I just put in some random information and used my $500 credit limit card for that $1 charge. If don't return the phone I wonder how they will go after me.

Typically, they'd blacklist the phone and take you to small claims court for the cost of the phone. but if you just put in random info, like name and had it delivered to the next door neighbor, then you'd just have a bricked phone.
They may have another way, like if you used a card in your name they may be able to go after you through that.

I also just put in my order, like wise with a 550 CL card. Just because i don't trust them with a higher limit.

As an iOS developer running into high end android devices time to time I can imagine how lost an average iPhone user will be on an android devices. So it might be full of whistles and bells, but when the interface is so different, the first month of testing won't be that wonderful.

Same settings different layout, like Windows, and even techies get lost trying to find where MS hides hides things in new versions.
I think some manufacture skins make it worst too with Android devices.
Plus nothing comes with an instruction book these days.

No more Note 5's... I was going to pull the trigger in store today and use the buyers remorse period as my "trial"... This would have been much easier. Wonder when they'll resupply...

i don't see why trying a device for 30 days does any harm? Some of you need to drop the exorcism towards andorid for just a taste.

I for one, would not want to shell pout for a Samsung, regret it, and be stuck with it imagining it could of been an iPhone.

If it comes to the UK, ill be first to sign up, to purely get my own views on it, and to see if the fuss is real.

(also, free month of internet will not go amiss )

Oh we all know this don't worry. The thing is though, being a supplier does not mean as good profits as selling the final device itself. If Samsung mobile keeps losing sales like they do, it'll hurt them a lot in the long run. Also, the more power Apple has over Samsung, the more they'll force them to cut their profits on manufacturing.

Your credit card has to be linked to real information, right?

Desperate! I guess per-orders aren't doing so hot. But it is one way for them to announce millions shipped but will never say millions returned.
