Iphone 4S and iPad 2 will receive iOS 9 with no delays, no bloatware. Wake me up when Android keeps 5 year old devices secure and up to date.
Sure, they only allow that so that once you do it and realize your old device is now slow as molasses and there is no going back, your only recourse is to buy a new model. CHA-CHING!

I just signed up to try Galaxy S6 Edge on Verizon. I'm an AT&T customer but they didn't have any available. I'm still using an iPhone 5 and am waiting for the new iPhone announcement. I've never used an Andriod more than 5 minutes at a store or a friends phone so this will be a good experiment.

Anyway... looking at all the ads and discounts going on for Samsung flagship phones these days, it sure looks like Samsung is very worried about the market share they are loosing — mostly to the cheaper Androids that are matching their specs or darn close.

It's interesting that many/most of the reviews I've read - still rank the Samsung 6 series above its competition. Sometimes it's a minor lead - but almost always a lead because if their screens and camera (which I maintain is one of the best mobile device cameras and software available).

I think they have good hardware... I don't agree with everything they do as they try a lot of gimmicks... and that can be good and bad... but my point is their competition is coming from the lower cost Android/Samsung knock-off's more than Apple. Also, by them discounting their phones so quickly... heck these are their new flagship phones and their discounting within a few months of them being released. Not a good sign that their sales are meeting expectations.

Wow such desperation from Samsung. They literally don't know what do do next. Bigger screens and pointless half baked features had to stop eventually.

not really a fan of the curved display, but wireless charging..... someone is doing things right... and it comes with an IR blaster right?

Innovation my ass, rose gold guys, ROSE GOLD!

p.s Force touch is actually semi cool. Not amazing, but I am interested to where it will lead

They took the IR blaster away...

I've yet to see a single person wear an Apple watch, but I've seen plenty of people wearing other watches.
Ive ssen several people with apple watch here (country where apple watch is not officially being sold) but none of android wear devices

Some time ago my sisters iPhone 5s was stolen. Her provider didn't cover a replacement for some reason and she couldn't afford a new iPhone herself. So she decided to get something cheaper. And that was the Samsung Galaxy S4. She liked it the first few weeks. But then, she completely regretted it. I've seen her many times smashing it to the table because of crashes, slowness and other issues. She hates the device. I mean, it's not new to me that Samsung users hate the device they use. But seeing my sister this desperate to get back to iPhone, that's something.

And yes, she has just ordered herself an iPhone 6. So she will enjoy the incredible performance without any lag, it works together with her MacBook Pro thanks to Continuity, and she will get the latest updates once they are out. I feel happy for her.

You know, she promised me we are going to destroy that Galaxy S4 once she has that iPhone 6. Really looking forward to that! Can't wait to kick that piece of junk. :p

She might have had a defective unit. I owned an S4 for 2 years and never had a single issue with it. Anecdotal evidence is anecdotal evidence. I have no doubt your story is true.. But it's not necc the full picture. Neither is mine.

Interesting that she was smashing it against the table out of frustration and you're looking forward to destroying a piece of electronics. You both seem to have similar anger issues - at least that's how it reads.

To me, the wireless charging is cool to a point. But it's not going to help me in the car

Well, there are wireless car chargers. I have one that I use with my Nexus 5. It's quite effortless, I just put the phone down and it starts charging. No need to hunt for the charging cable and have it tangle around the gear stick.

You missed my point--Just because YOU don't see it doesn't mean it's not happening...

Yes to all of the above. It appears that they will issue you a trial number which is owned by Samsung.

Might as well try it. That way when someone asks if i've ever tried Android I can say yes. Followed all the instructions. Entered my info. Site just says "Processing". Never went through. I assume your phones are like your site, Samsung. Glitchy and annoying.

How will that work? I also noticed no phones available on AT&T. If you choose a different carrier, how do you get service? I read through the T&C but didn't see any mention how the actual switching of the phone to your (or any) carrier will work. I would think that, somehow, you get to keep your number. I definitely would not want to have to switch to Verizon to keep my number.

Oh please - the website is likely getting hammered and perhaps they didn't expect that kind of traffic. Or perhaps there's a node down between you and the site. It could be a lot of things.

Why would you be interested in the trial if you're already so anti-Samsung in your sentiments?

Same goes for a few others in here. Seems as though some are only doing it to "prove" how bad Samsung/Android sucks. And I can pretty much assure you that for those people, it will. Because self-fulfilling prophecy.

A full 30 days would be a good test when/if one understands there WILL be a learning curve - just like if you were on Android and switched to iOS. That as similar as many things are - some things are different. Not good. Not bad. Just different. I use both platforms. Both are fantastic and have pluses and minuses.

I've used the Galaxy S6 Edge+ and I can safely say it's better than the iPhone 6+ that my G/F owns. The screen is MENTAL! It looks like you're looking at a photograph, it's so dense, so high resolution, the colours are much better and it gives you an option of saturation or realistic which is great. It's easily twice as bright as the 6+, you can shine a light directly at it and you can still read it perfectly... just crazy how good that screen is. I love the black blacks, when you directly compare the iPhone to that, you notice all the light bleed of the LCD.

I tried the loud speaker which was much louder than the 6+ and I also tried the camera, which took much better shots.. though that isn't surprising at all considering it's a larger sensor, better lens and higher MP count and it was also faster.

Apple have real competition on their hands with Samsung, I'm not gonna buy one because it doesn't interest me, but man, one hell of a phone.

+ Android didn't lag on it one bit and the new Touchwiz looks like Stock Android, but you can just use launchers on Android any ways.

For me though, I'm waiting to see what Microsoft and Apple do, still holding out hope for a Nokia 1030.
