Regarding the crease. I would argue that people who want a foldable accept it as the form-factor's current compromise and are no more bothered by it than iPhone users are with the notch. Same goes for the folded thickness; to me it would be no more of an issue than the Mophie battery-pack case I used to have on my iPhone 3GS was.

Okay listen, I get it. You love Samsung products and hate Android slander. But we have to be realistic, folding phones are not ready. They're too much of a risk for how much they cost, and the last thing I need is a $1000 phone with a permanent line in the display after just mild use a couple months after buying.
Then dont get one. Its that simple. Problem fixed.

More like you have to invent things to support your beliefs, you are not realistic at all.
And excuse me for disturbing your hating spree. Do go on.

I like Androids and I want folding phones to succeed. But every release of the Z Fold and Flip has always had permanent line creases. Hell some of them even broke in the hands of reviewers. Because of this and their price I just cannot take that gamble.

This coming for somebody that tries it's best to invent negative stuff about foldable smartphones.

Anyway as Samsung provides from +1 year of warranty for their phones your suggestion that Z Flip 4 in general smartphones will simply break after 2 months makes ZERO sense.

Again, some literally broke in the hands of reviewers immediately. Mass reports of the line returning began two months into the phone's life and on average always begins two months after purchase.

Everything I say is based off actual people who got the phones. But hey if you want to continue phone warring and denying it be my guest. I can't stop you there. If you like the phone, then enjoy it. But it's too much of a gamble for myself and many others here to jump in, especially at it's cost.

You are probably right, and people tend to make things like these sound like a much bigger problem than they truly are. But a notch at the top/edge of the display, mostly out of view, and a crease in the middle of the screen is obviously two very different things. But I doubt this is a dealbreaker for whoever is considering getting a foldable phone.

Of course, what kind of question is that?
Well, when I was a Samsung user, they didn’t. Remember S Voice? It’s completely abandoned now as far as I know. Imagine Apple abandoning Siri… And Samsung used to provide only one major android update for smartphones. And it was a very delayed update.

I’m interested in a smaller phone, but my aging eyes are less interested in a smaller screen. I’ve been waiting for the release of the Flip 4, as this seems to tick off both boxes. Having said that, I fear the lack of maturity in the screen tech. And from what I’ve read, some people have had a hard time getting the screen fixed under warranty as Samsung plays the “you broke it” blame game. I’m due for a new phone, and I’ll have to consider it for a few days…

No dust resistance. Total deal breaker for beach bums like me.
no dust resistance its a deal breaker for any foldable, is far more important than water resistance
In this day of age when we live in more heated and dusted environments...its a must have
We just got a very good dust and water resistance for the last 5 years and now the companies want to start over ?!

How long have you had your iPhone? And also I doubt there’s no damage
Current one, about 1.5 years and it’s overdue for a change. Got scratched up within a few months though like all phone screens have gotten.

The Fold big screen is way more protected since it is folded while in the pocket so that one was flawless when I sold it after 6 months.

This is definitely not obvious at all.

But every release of the Z Fold and Flip has always had permanent line creases.
You are trying to backpedal now. You clearly said Every single one has had permanent lines on the display after just two months of use. This implies it's something that happens with use and that's not true at all. The crease is there from the start and it's a well know by anybody that buys such a product. Everybody can test it live in a store after all.

Also that forum post and a parody clip from where you confused the original Z Flip with the Z Flip 3 don't really prove anything.

Again, some literally broke in the hands of reviewers immediately. Mass reports of the line returning began two months into the phone's life and on average always begins two months after purchase.

The original Z Fold from 2019. What does that have to do with the Z Fold 3, or the Z Fold 4? Samsung sold millions of foldables since then? How many broke in reviewers hands since then? How many broke in september 2019 when Samsung sent out the revised Z Folds?

Everything I say is based off actual people who got the phones.

Actual 1 or 2 people and then you generalized to every single generation of Galaxy Folds and Flips and to every single unit. LoL
You are also taking about what happen to the original Z Fold and generalising it ti every single generation like nothing changed since April 2019 in terms of durability and build quality(Samsung even fixed the problems with the original Z Fold before launching it). Yeah you want foldable smartphones to succeed all right.

I'm denying obvious attempt to deceive that don't even make sense and I will continue to do so no matter what you think you know.

Let's be honest here, Iphones suck and Android phones suck but neither suck as bad as Symbian OS (not even going to mention that mambo one).

At the end of the day it's a bloody phone, just as long it makes calls and allows you to send texts, every thing else is gravy.

What about Apple's reception issue i.e "you're holding it wrong" and also the bendy phone if you put it in your pocket?

Be objective here!!!
Yeah, at least Samsung admitted they ****ed up with their exploding batteries, and provided support for those who needed to board their flights while still complying with new airline rules about them. Apple in the meantime still insists they did nothing wrong with their butterfly keyboards (even though they went through with a multimillion dollar lawsuit. Because if you did nothing wrong, you still pay out in lawsuits, right?). And folks here on MR and elsewhere were pissed of how little money they got relative to the hassles of downtime, and having to keep having their keyboard repaired. Last but not least, it was mentioned replacing the keyboard involved replacing was it, the entire front panel of the keyboard, making it even more costly and time consuming? If they're going to put this sort of "innovation" into their future products, it's probably better Apple steer clear of foldable phones, and just stick with rounded rectangles. (go figure why they went so sue-happy there :D)
