I can't wait for Lighting headphones!

Okay, you need to stop using those poor cables as jump ropes and for tying up cattle right now, they're just supposed to plug iOS devices into computers and power supplies. None of my Apple Lightning cables looks anything like that. (I mean, they're white, and have the same connector, but all mine are intact.)

My "friend" Samesong is KING of BOGO's and FREE FREE FREE phones and those FIRE SALES move huge bits of product. That my friend is a fact. Thankfully Apple doesn't compete.

Btw I'm not the type of consumer that buys a product based on quantified sales versus qualified. Get the difference?

In the end what difference does it make in the scheme of things since Apple crushes on
P R O F I T as it takes TWO SAMESONG SALES to equal the P R O F I T of ONE iPhone.

Ouch

And where does Apple get that extra profit? From Apple customers that pay more for inferior hardware. Ouch.

Poor Apple! Just sold its BILLIONTH inferior piece of hardware! BAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Apple is a successful and very profitable company. But it got that way by having profit margins higher than any other manufacturer. Who pays that difference? Again, the Apple buyer. Apple makes out just fine. And you helped pay for Jony Ive's Bentley.

After reading through first couple of pages of comments,I realize the click bait on this article and no one has caught it this far. Samsung can be referring to android competitor Motorola with their comments. Motorola's new smart phone ditches micro usb for usb-c and provides no adapter. It also drops the headphone jack for usb-c. It also has a bunch of accessories it charges you for which are the mod backs. Check out the Moto Z and it's not just directed at Apple as the article would want you to think.

Every apple branded cable I use in the car looks like this after maybe three months or so. I don't treat it any differently than the fact it's in the car. Maybe temperature extremes?

I've had them replaced and even mentioned they're in vehicle cables and the genius never cared. Never. one even told me they had seen this with some regularity.

I went ahead and bought some mfi certified insignia cables (my wife also gets a discount so that played into my decision). Those are going in three months with no damage. I also have a ten foot bell in in the bedroom which is going on two years and it looks brand new.

I don't know what to say other than this is a real issue for some, and I could conceded in abusing these cables if other cables didn't flat out work better for me. For what it's worth I've had the same happen to apples magnetic charger for MacBooks (I forget the name right now) after a year (ish?). Idk if they generally replace those but they took one look at it and didn't even ask for my information. They went back and handed me another stating it was a serious safety concern.

Anyway it's late and I feel like I rambled a bit, sorry haha.

Could be the biggest embarrassment in this guy's life...

It's the new Steve Ballmer comment. This part of the video is gonna be watched billion times ;)

People also bitched about the removal of a CD drive on MacBooks, not supporting flash on iPhone, not including flash in OS X, et cetera, et cetera. People will get over it.

I still remember the Blackberry phone add on TV "and if does have flash so you can play all your games"

Brilliant. Apple should take note no one wants this. Look at the stuff Samsung can engineer into a phone very similar in size to the 6S+. Apple should feel embarrassed they are so far behind.

These days, it seems Samsung appears be innovating more than Apple in the mobile phone market.

Samsung is listening to its customers. Apple is only watching in apathy.

If the iPhone 7 is as dull as the rumors suggest, Apple has lost the phone race too in my opinion.

It's good to see all competitors leapfrog Apple. Apple has to respond sooner or later and will be forced to do better.

You sure about that?

The most interestingly feature in my opinion would be the ability to make notes while the device is in locked mode and when it's even raining.
But no duo lenses, no Dutch voice assistance (I'm Dutch and to give instructions, to Siri, in the language where I'm familiar with is quite convenient).

So hardware wise it's an impressive device but will it blow away the upcoming iPhone Plus competitor? I don't think so.
Time will tell.

Who sells twice as many phones as Samsung? Not Apple. Thats for sure.

No one sells as many phones as Samsung and thats a fact my friend :)

The whole "who's selling more" competition, Apple or Samsung is quite often just a fanboy level "discussion". The childish "mine sold more then yours" is like two adolescents bragging about the size of there own little d*beeep*cks when taking a shower....

I perfectly understand the relevance of sales in economic context and that profits matters for any given commercial business, but then one should also include profits made in general.

In my opinion both devices, the iPhone plus and the Note are good quality phablets. Both devices do have their own good and less good features; which are often good or bad in the eye of the beholder to begin with.

Ahh If only Steve was alive... he would make a hell of a joke next year when big S removes the HP jack!

That's great, can next samsung come with 1/4" jack so I can plugin in my big phones without the nuissance of having an adapter?

On top of it, can I also have a DIN5 MIDI cable?

Apple was always the first to ditch old standards, this isn't really coming as a surprise...

I won't mention anything on this thread that hasn't been said for over 415 comments. But where Apple succeeds is their marketing team and this Advertisement only strengthens this.

Samsung should never make any comments about 'A Company' deleting a headphone jack when it has not been confirmed by Apple. Samsung needs to focus on their product line and marketing it, not subliminally poking fun at Apple. It just doesn't look good, even though Samsung has a lot of good things going for them.

Even though Samsung is power house company, it shows me some sort of weakness when a company does these back handed slaps, it just looks unprofessional.

Apple's marketing is a strength for them, they need to pull some stops with their hardware. Samsung has great hardware, but their marketing team needs an attitude adjustment. To each their own for both Companies.

He just doesn't know the capabilities of what usb-c can do. Just another used car salesman.
That's the difference between me buying Samsung and Apple.
I go for Apple, because they mention competition in a playful way, while Samsung just tries to be the bully. It's a high horse I hope they one day can get off of.

I care. I want the highest quality audio I can get. If Apple can give me that for no extra money besides the cost of the phone, I'll gladly stop using my old headphones in favor of the new ones. But if they throw in their old EarPods and give us an adapter...

I would give you every last dollar in my bank account if you could consistently tell the difference between audio coming through a headphone jack and audio coming through the lightning connector.

The fact of you even saying it's better audio quality and actually being able to notice the difference is laughable.

Furthermore, most people can't even decipher 128kbps vs 320kbps. Give it a shot: http://mp3ornot.com

I don't think you or most people understand the reasons behind moving away from the 50 year old technology of the 3.5mm analog headphone jack. All music files played on any handheld device today are digital. The audio jack requires an analog output, so every device has to have a digital to analog converter chip to convert the file on the fly. It makes sense to just keep the flow of digital to digital. And the biggest port now on any device is the audio jack, so it limits the size to which a device can be manufactured. So why should we stick with 50 year old technology and limit the size of our devices, just for nostalgia? Heck, let's just put the 8mm headphone jack on there too. When you have a look at old pc laptops of the 90's and see the massive serial ports on the back, you cringe. The same will go for the headphone jack.

That's all lovely and all that but are Apple (based on rumours) going to be putting two lightning ports on the iPhone 7 so I can listen to headphones AND charge my phone or just the one? Because if not then it's a big inconvenience for ME. I don't want battery powered Bluetooth headphones either.

Why do you think he was referring to Apple when he said, "Want to know what else it comes with? An audio jack."? It is because the article title says so?

Like you said, it hasn't been confirmed by anyone that Apple's removing the 3.5mm jack; It's still a rumor at this point.

On the other hand, Motorola and Le Eco do have smartphones that don't have a 3.5mm jack. Why couldn't he be referring to them, or what appears to be a trend by smartphone manufacturers in general to remove the 3.5mm jack?

This article is nothing more than click bait.
