They make fun of Android with the "make the switch" ads.

these don't really count, as the 'make a switch' ads don't really harm people.... the ones who mock other companies, do.

Even the PC vs Mac ads didn't really make a dent...it was more 'fun' than anything. so it balances it out

Apple doesn't care if you go over. or don't . But these mock Samsung ads are more personal attacks on Apple's own products they make. Therefore, would have much more of an effect when people see them.

These adverts are embarrassing. Why doesn't Samsung focus on showcasing their products instead of bashing the competition? Are they trying to be Microsoft or something?!
Does Mac vs PC ring a bell? Besides, it looks like Samsung is showcasing the advantages of the S9...

I would think everyone at Apple is totally okay with that. The majority of Samsung phones sold are cheap. This isn't a market Apple wants to play in and will happily allow all of the other Android manufacturers to battle each other for the bottom end.
Agreed they have different sales strategies. Apple I’m sure are quite happy with all the money they are making.

“It was different when Apple did it”
Blah blah, you must not read around here much if you think there’s no double standard. Sure not EVERYONE, just the Sour Apple users.

Oh, I read a LOT around here - it's mostly people putting words in Apple users' mouths with strawman arguments like this one.

Because it is more fun for samsung. And they do have a point about the headphone jack....if they want people to go wireless they should include a pair of no thrills wireless earbuds instead of a dongle and let the user decide if they need the air pods or any other brand.

Apple could stoop to Samsung’s level and make fun of them for exploding phones/phones on no fly lists etc. but they don’t. They take the high road.

Try it yourself sometimes, Samsung.

Yes but when it's Apple doing it, it's a "genius campaign", "I love these ads", "they are sooooo right", etc.

I didn't buy Apple anything during that period because those ads were so dumb. It took a long time before I would consider Apple again.

I won't be buying a Samsung phone any time soon, even if I consider switching from iPhone.

I never understood the lack of headphone jack issue. My “dongle” is attached to my cable for my Senheisser cans. It stays there. I only need it for when I’m on a plane and Bluetooth isn’t allowed. Can’t see the problem with that. Not even on a 20 hour flight to Australia I needed to charge. To me this is purely a theoretical issue in my opinion.

The charger as well. Battery life is good, charging is fast enough. USB ports are everywhere, why carry the whole charger with you. It’s again a highly theoretical issue if you want to make it one.

Camera, so both are excellent. The difference is so small that it isn’t measurable outside lab conditions. Ultimately it then comes down to personal preference.

Samsung are rather desperate if they resort to this kind of negative advertising. It was obvious though as since launch the phone was discounted and they even invited trade in from an iPhone 4.

Ultimately they are both good phones, and it comes down to whether you prefer Android in Samsung’s flavour or iOS.

This is true, but you can show that strength and still make a small dig at the competition without trying to make the competition look like *******s. Even that "you're a barista" crap was demeaning to Apple's users. I seriously doubt Samsung would play these kinds of ads in South Korea.

Yes. All valid arguments. No headphone jack is why my wife went with Samsung and gave up on Apple. I plan on doing the same when my iPhone dies.

Buy it now rather than later because most people seem to be saying that Samsung will be removing the headphone jack in future designs.

It's fun taking the high road, just watch out for that cliff

I think they are valid points, but I am not a fan of Samsung products, and am definitely not paid by Samsung.

The only two Samsung products that I own IIRC is a 51" Plasma, that is currently sitting in my basement with a blown power supply, and an external Blu-ray disk drive for my iMac. So, hardly a fan of Samsung, but the points they make are valid.
Yes. Certainly not in the pay of Samsung. I have the S9 plus and a gear VR headset which I may or may not keep.

I have far more Apple devices (iPhone, 2 x iPads, MacBook, Apple Watch, HomePod, 2 x Apple TV, airpods). But if Samsung are making valid points I won’t dismiss them just because I feel as though I need to defend Apple all the time and at the end of the day is this something that needs defending? It’s ok to admit that a competitor has features your device doesn’t.

I always find it funny how the fabois react to these, which are no big deal imo, but still... "embarrassing" etc... you can tell how hot headed they get. lol

Who cares is where I would rank it.

The ads don't even try to hide the fact that it's supposed to be an Apple Store, and are a clear jab at "Geniuses." Samsung has repeatedly tried to mock Apple and the iPhone, though, so this is par for course for them.

This is rather poor writing and actually sounds hostile toward Samsung. This looks like a forum comment rather than a post from a news website. Please hire better writers.

I'm confused. Doesn't the Galaxy line outsell the iPhone? Why is Samsung so intimated by Apple? I mean, they spit out a carbon copy of the iPhone and they didn't really have to do any of the leg work. Samsung is so sad.
Well Samsung call all of their devices galaxy so yes the whole range of their devices sell more than the iPhone, which not only comprises of high end flagships but also midrange and low end devices. However at the high Apple sell far more devices that Samsung which is why they make more money than Samsung despite selling less phones overall.

Exactly what I was thinking. Shows who's the real boss.

Is the S10 the one rumored to be a radical change like the iPhone X was? Apple may be able to get by with keeping the same design for 3 years, but I don't think Samsung has that same luxury. Another incremental update would be pretty terrible for them.
Yes apparently it’s supposed to have a completely bezeless display, triple lens camera and a fingerprint sensor under the display.

I think they are in the position that Apple were in in 2016. Apple knew they were bringing out the X the next year so didn’t put too much into the 7 series. I think Samsung didn’t do much with the S9 this year because they are putting everything into next years phones. However I agree Apple can get away with it but Samsung can’t. I think Samsung’s problem also is that they tend to modify the design of their phones gradually over several years (this year being an exception). So even last year when they brought out the infinity display it didn’t create as much fanfare as the X design because it was more evolutionary than revolutionary. It’s not that much different to the X, in fact the screen to body ratio is higher than on the X but as Apple hasn’t done anything to the bezels since the iPhones inception it was seen as more revolutionary.
