In one hand the Note 7 (before it went boom boom) had a lot more impressive tech than the iphone 7. But then it goes and copies the colour.

You can out shine Apple with your OLED, out do them on the IRIS scanner, have wireless charging, but yet feel the need to copy there colour? They really have no shame!

As I agree that Samsung is more willing to add new features, I'd first point out that they don't do them well. OLED has eye-destroying color and contrast ratios, while wireless charging doesn't do anything a cable doesn't - locks your phone into a location to charge.

OLED has one serious flaw.
It is prone to "Dead pixel" issue.

It happens to high percentage of Samsung oled device. Very common.

If it happens to 1 in 1000 iphones, it will be "Deadpixel-gate"

According to my friends, Apple select ips and Apple will replace one for u if there is dead pixel issue, because it is very rare issue for ips.
