it seems that many posters here ignores that Samsung Galaxy Note 7 was released before the iPhone 7, and already had a "Jet Black" color option. Samsung now cannot copy they own products, because Apple has done something similar

Samsung better add Mobile HDR to S7! if they want boost sales

Samsung is such a funny animal

In one hand the Note 7 (before it went boom boom) had a lot more impressive tech than the iphone 7. But then it goes and copies the colour.

You can out shine Apple with your OLED, out do them on the IRIS scanner, have wireless charging, but yet feel the need to copy there colour? They really have no shame!
Why? Give the peoples what they want...

You can't really copy "black".

I should quit Androidcentral and just come here for my Android news.

I love my S7 Edge and Note 5. Amazing phones but the new blue and jet black colors are too late in the year to pay premium prices for.

Are we not going to talk about the silly names for a colour? Jet Black, really?

I wish the next iPhone comes in glossy black and glossy white and call then... wait for it—black and white. Or if they really want to baptize a colour, how about Piano and Pearl. Kill Rose Gold and Gold while they are at it.

Yeah, it makes no sense for a company to try to steal sales from a competitor by offering similar options to customers

I guess that's why automobile makers never copy each other's features or looks, clothing makers never offer the same colors and styles, pain killer producers don't create similar sounding items with 'PM' in the name, and fast food chains never offer similar sandwiches.

In fact, it's clear that Apple will never make a phablet, or a small tablet, or introduce a pen, to try to steal Samsung sales.

Oh. Wait.

I remember shiny black on tech being despised because it looks like cheap plastic...

Oh, 2016...
[doublepost=1479791407][/doublepost]And Samsung had a shiny black option before Apple, just not this model...

I hope this isn't insensitive in some way to ask this but: how are they not completely ashamed of themselves. There's following trends and learning from the competition... and then there's this. Literally whatever Apple does, they follow with a copy as soon as possible. No law preventing it, but seriously guys, do you not see how lame that is?

Honestly, this completely makes sense of Samsung doing this. They only have the S7 to focus on and to prevent the device from being stagnant, offering a new color is a way to sway more who were considering the device and 'Refresh' it if you will. It's a great marketing technique and they should be placing focus on the S7 until a new device arrives in 2017.

It was an option on the Note 7 back in the summer - I'd guess it was always on the cards to roll out across the range.
