Samsung to announce new original logo.

B..b..b..but how will they design it without having Apple's version to copy from?

🤣
As if Apple is not copying Tile here. Who said that Samsung is following Apple? Aren't they following Tile? For all we know Samsung may release their version first. Samsung is just not as leaky as Apple when it comes to their product development plans. The fact that Apple plans leaked before Samsung plans does not mean that Samsung is copying Apple. But the reaction of some folks here is predictable (and comical).

“Nothing beate EigerMan“ - 1998

in response to “nothing beats Tile”

is it just me, or is Samsung's strategic plan, just do what apple does? Can't wait for the S1 SOC, with Exynos, they must be already working on it.

What happened to the days when Samsung could innovate, you know brought us larger phones, things like that

Man you “apple” nerds really have your your heads up your arses don’t you? Such arrogance.
Now, now a few deep breaths, stay calm. You have to admit its funny, especially after all of the stupid commercials that Samsung makes, and then goes right off and does the same thing. Like remember the commercial about a dork with a cable splitter so he could listen to wired headphones and charge his phone, instead of walking around with just his wireless headphones and (if his phone needed charging, it was sitting somewhere in a nice convenient spot while he listened)? Talk about heads and arses!

Well smack my butt and call me Susan :D

Seriously though, why is it they are copying Apple, and not any of the other similar products that have been available for years.
because it's funny. Samsung says they won't do something Apple is doing, makes a few stupid commercials and then does it anyway. You gotta laugh

Samsung has been developing chips (including SOCs) for longer than Apple. As far as the naming convention is concerned, they can't go with Apple approach (1,2,3, etc.) because their nomenclature of chips (and SOCs) is way bigger than that of Apple.

Wait when did the “AirTags” get released? Did I miss their launch? Hard to say they’re copying Apple when Apple hasn’t even released anything. 🤦‍♂️

iirc, bringing larger phones was a necessity since they needed such a big frickn battery for their version of iPhone. Didn’t matter m that they couldn’t duplicate Apple’s miniaturization though; turns out people like big phones, after decades of consumers preferring smaller and smaller models.

I think he was actually being sarcastic about the large phones being innovative

What proportion of Android devices are made by Samsung? Is it high enough to make this useful?

Apple’s main advantage over Tile is all the existing and future Apple devices that can be used to create a network for this with a simple OS update (I’m assuming membership is made opt-out); they don’t need to be restricted to users of one app like Tile.

Even if Samsung has a dominant share of Android devices the slow uptake of new OS versions among Android users means they don’t have that same advantage.

All of that means that if Apple release an Android app for their version then their version would, ironically, be a better purchase even for people embedded in the Samsung ecosystem!

Hope they don't just copy the same exact design as Apple's.
You mean the product that hasn't even gone to market? How would they be considered copying it? How fast do you think R&D happens? It's pretty obvious both Google and Apple have copied Tiles idea.

Samsung had wireless charging in their phones before Apple. You can also wirelessly charge a device from their phones, which you can't do with an iPhone.

They have phones with fingerprint sensors under their display, edge-to-edge screens, foldable displays, etc. when iPhones don't.

But yea... they can't innovate...
