I can't wait to hear from Tile about how this is ruining their business...don't the lawsuits and complaints against Apple get copied whenever another company copies what Apple does?

You know Samsung makes several iPhone parts don’t you? Depending on the model you have Samsung made the screen, the storage, the camera sensor, the RAM and/or probably something else.

Well, we know the tech is coming. I would be surprised if we don’t see the ‘Airtags’ by first quarter 2021. They’ve been rumored for almost 2 full years now, and at some point these competitors will probably launch the product within six months of each other. More importantly, I’m curious to see The separation of features amongst the competitors, versus just the pricing.
I bought several Tiles for my parents. When I set them up, I was unhappy to see that only one device could be set up to work with the devices… unless I paid a monthly fee. Also, the ones that use replaceable batteries estimate battery life - not great to find out that the battery is actually dead after you lost it
I liked Samsung much better when they were doing their own thing in sheer defiance of Apple. This was a short-lived period that started around the s7 edge time and ended shortly after their first folding phone:

Next thing they'll do is make an ad about how Apple doesn't let you expand your storage and then promptly remove the SD card slot on the next S phones just to shoot themselves in the foot once again.

No, definitely not but everyone seems to be copying Apple these days it's becoming gold standard whether good or bad.
These are quite specific products though. Samsung also "copied" Apple Card with its "Samsung Money". It's not like saying that they copied Apple by releasing new phones, because there are dozens of companies who make phones, but not a lot who make phones and their own cards/tile trackers.
I don't understand why either company wouldn't just acquire Tile. If they release their own product, doesn't that mean the two giant tech companies stole idea from a small startup, all the while driving the startup to the ground?
It reminds me of the (perhaps not true) humorous story told about Burger King and McDonalds. McDonalds supposedly researches locations extensively and puts in a lot of resources to find the best locations for their restaurants. Meanwhile, Burger King just builds near McDonalds.
In this scenario, Samsung is Burger King and Apple is McDonalds.

They may have another technical approach to make these things work and don’t feel they need the IP of Tile. Just a guess of course.
If the market is personalizing technology then actually Apple did it before any other company.

There is a lot of stuff Apple does that they "copied" from other tech companies. It's a 2-lane road, not a 1-lane street.
