Well I think the whole bend BS is stupid for either brand. Of course if you take a super thin piece of aluminium and glass it will bend/break given enough force. So the solution? Take better care of these super thin devices and don't sit on them, duh!

BTW SquareTrade NEEDS these to break and bend so they can sell the warranties. If they were to come on and say "These bad boys are indestructible", how many folks would purchase the warranty?

I'm more interested in blend tests.

...and we know the outcome of that one.

Why are people with iPhones even interested in this bending nonsense?

One would assume if somebody has money for a $ 300 plus phone they would be intelligent enough not to sit on it?

Just because SAMSUNG made fun of Apple's bend test?
Didn't do a thing for me then or now. Who cares. Don't need to get even.
They don't pay me.

Still going to buy a 6s iPhone when it comes out and roughing it up as I do with all my iPhones.

BTW: Otterbox is not holding up well. (At least the outer rubber shell).

The karma here is too perfect, Apple couldn't have scripted it better if they tried.

Unless they did:eek:

I just miss having a phone that didn't have super-fragile glass and super-thin profile. The added protection of a case pretty much defeats the thin purpose. I'd pay extra for iPhone6 guts in an indestructible iPhone3 form factor (physical design)

Man those were the days

My iphone 6 is the most scratch proof phone i have ever had, they are plenty durable without a case.

I got an iPhone 6 for Christmas and it was bent within a month. I hardly ever carry my phone in my back pocket and never sit on it. I'm vary careful with all my Apple products. Apple was hella cool, though. They swapped it out immediately, no questions asked.

There was no phone called the "iPhone 3". The third iPhone released was the 3gs. However, that was only the first full hardware revision, as the iPhone 3g had the original iPhone internals with the addition of 3G antenna(s). Therefore, the true iPhone 3 is the iPhone 4.

So they make fun of Apple for it in their marketing but then when it happens to them just say that it would never happen in normal usage.

**** you Samescum.

I don't think Apple is going to do that.

#1: Mudslinging isn't classy. People tend to look down on you/your brand if you do that.
#2: You don't compare yourself to your competitor when you're more popular than your competitor. Apple was able to attack Windows years ago because of how much smaller marketshare Apple had than Microsoft in desktop computers. Microsoft is similarly able to attack Apple right now in the mobile space. In the US, Apple wouldn't be seen as an underdog if they attacked Samsung in an ad.

Anyways...

Samsung's test seems pathetic. Their response to claims that their phone breaks at 110 lbs is to demonstrate that their phones don't break at 80 lbs. It's irrelevant - nobody claimed your phones broke at 80 lbs and it'd be quite pathetic if they did. The claim is that your phones break at 110 lbs, and you in no way refuted that.
And yet, Apple has done 1and 2 to Android in keynotes. But that's ok with you?

iPhone 6 had 10 million presales the first weekend. Galaxy S6 15 million

sooooo I'd call that a record or at least good ;-)

To be accurate... Samsung has not released any actual numbers. It's rumored that they have 15 million pre-orders to their channel partners. Not end customers.

Apple had 10 million pre-sales to customers. So, to be fair, you can't compare these until actual numbers are released.

As far as this phone bending too? It's too bad Samsung had to make a big deal over it with the iPhone 6 release because now theirs does too. They should have had more class and just laid low when that was happening. These sort of things by Samsung is why I don't like them as a company.

It's one thing to point out clear differences between products, it's another thing to jump on every opportunity to throw mud when something comes up about your competitors. You don't see Apple jumping on every little thing that comes up with Android OS or competitive phones. Samsung is very aggressive about jumping on issues and trying to exploit them to their advantage.

And you honestly believe that 10 million was directly to customers? I don't think so.

So, same results as the iPhone 6+ yet guess how much media attention this is going to be given? (hint: it's none)

Apple will take the moral high ground though and not make a lame ad about it though, that's the difference. :apple:

Also, regarding Samsung's figures - they never give you a straight answer, so I don't know why people are even arguing about this, or stating figures anyways. You can't get a firm amount without the usual BS asterix conditions etc.
