It's one thing to point out clear differences between products, it's another thing to jump on every opportunity to throw mud when something comes up about your competitors. You don't see Apple jumping on every little thing that comes up with Android OS or competitive phones. Samsung is very aggressive about jumping on issues and trying to exploit them to their advantage.
Please, Apple throws mud no less than others.

My iphone 6 is the most scratch proof phone i have ever had, they are plenty durable without a case.

I know results are individual. Mine, unfortunately are extreme. I've broken 2 iPhone6 screens. I've dropped iPhone3 and 3g on so many surfaced from pretty decent heights with no broken screen... same with 4 and 4s. The 6 screen broke from 1.5ft onto wood and 2 ft onto asphalt. Again, only my results.

As fun as it is for us to bash Samsung, their components are inside Apple's iPhone also. Have to take these things with a good chuckle, but also know who butters your bread. :D

Not sure I trust an insurance company, sure all these phones bend, though not sure about a company that sells phone insurance doing independent tests

yawwwnnnnn... This a story I so don't care about. Plus it's a Samsung, who cares if it bends. The quality is well behind the iPhone.

There was no phone called the "iPhone 3". The third iPhone released was the 3gs. However, that was only the first full hardware revision, as the iPhone 3g had the original iPhone internals with the addition of 3G antenna(s). Therefore, the true iPhone 3 is the iPhone 4.

You meant what I knew...get over it.

I'm sure it will in a generation or two when phone makers figure out how to strengthen their phones so there is no need to worry about them bending in normal use.

Or... make it so that bending and flexibility is a feature. The tech is slowly but surely getting there.

So anyone that has more than 66 lbs of weight on their azzzzz will bend the phone if they put it in their back pocket.

Who carries their phone in their back pocket?

I do.

I just don't sit on it when it's in my back pocket.

I heard that a study showed that most Teen girls carried it in their back pocket whereas Teen boys carried it in their front pocket. I usually carry it in my jacket pocket during the week but on the weekends when I am in my jeans I actually carry it in my back pocket. When I go to sit I take it out since I don't like sitting on my phone or wallet.

And you honestly believe that 10 million was directly to customers? I don't think so.

Apple Pre-Sales for iPhone 6/6+ was over 30mm for all pre-sales whether that was customers or not. Why does these posts always post inaccurate or fit to need?

And you honestly believe that 10 million was directly to customers? I don't think so.

Yes it was 10 million to customers. Apple does not count orders to retailers \ carriers as pre-sales numbers. 10 million are how many went straight to customers hands. Samsung counts orders to Everyone. If some shop in China orders 500, that's 500 pre-sales that they count. Out of those 15 million, 10 million will still be on the shelves after release.

If it's such a concern .....

How about people buy durable cases to put their phones in? There's a concept, huh?

This whole thing was stupid when the story broke about Apple's phones and equally stupid with Samsung.

Not so long ago, cellphones were too big and bulky to even consider putting in a back pocket. Now that they succeed in making them thin and lightweight, people are upset or surprised that it's possible to bend one by mistreating it?

I thought the bending was designed to allow samsung retrieve a lost phone.
A boomerang shape can in some circumstances allow the phone to find its way back to its owner easier.

Samsung will sell quite well... it's the first product they have made that I really like. Yes, it resembles the iPhone 6 - not the 6+ but it is nice.

Samsung manufactures parts for Apple at Apples Specs. Then samsung steals those specs to make "samsung" products. If Apple were smart they would move all manufacturing to TSMC or take it in house.

I do. But I never sat on my phone. And if I'm about to sit, and forget to take my phone out, I can start to feel the phone press into my thigh as i'm starting to sit.

----------

Apple should post an ad. Welcome to bendgate, Samsung.

Steals those specs? Pretty sure the only component they make to specs is the cpu. Unless you can prove otherwise.

I thought the bending thing was overdone until I found my iPhone 6+ is actually bent at the volume buttons. Its in a case which kind of hides the bend from me really noticing but when I place it on a table its definitely not flat. I always put the phone in my front pockets and my pants are not especially tight. I have noticed that there is quite a bit of pressure on the phone sometimes when I sit down so I am assuming this is how it happened. Im just hoping it doesn't get worse.

Say it ain't so!

But there is no need to strengthen them to avoid bending _in normal use_. If people sit with their fat arse on a phone, whether Apple or Samsung, it will bend. Now of course the people who did blame Apple are suddenly changing their mind when Samsung has the same problem, so I say: Bring it on. Have a bit of fun at Samsung's expense. Just realize that the whole thing is nonsense.
