That second ad would have been way better if the the Apple guy's finger that he was using to poke the guy in the chest in the first ad was in a splint when he shows he has all ten fingers to the girl.

Haven’t watched it yet but I’m sure we are gonna have pages and pages of outraged iPhone users.

Outraged or mildly amused? I'm finding these attempts by Samsung to talk trash about Apple to be vaguely embarrassing. I wonder if it's working for them. If not, they're making themselves look very petty and insecure.

"God gave us 10 styluses. Let's not invent another."

I still haven't seen a good argument why a stylus can't be supported. If I use my finger 99% of the time that's great, but when I want pinpoint accuracy or handwriting let me use an accurate stylus.

Why? Would you rush out and buy one if it were different?

If they can get it to work on all iDevices and shrink it down to something more managable, yep I would in a heartbeat.

Just for the record, I do, and have always wanted a functioning stylus for both my iPhone and iPad. I started carrying some kind of organizer since the early Palm days and have sorely missed the accuracy and handwriting capabilites of a stylus on my Apple products and I hope some day Apple an finally nail it.

Finger is great, but there are quite a few things a stylus can do much better. I don't see the big deal of giving those that want it, the option of a stylus.

Most people don't because the phone wasn't designed for them. The super wide capacitive touch makes even the most sophisiticated stylii that weren't hardware-designed by apple to be equal to a finger which is pretty useless for tasks that require a stylus.

That's fair, maybe "nobody" was a bit extreme, but I don't think this is something in high demand. On a technical level, I think 3D touch is causing issues with Pencil support.

Anyone remember when android phones used to crush iPhone benchmarks? No one cared then lol it was all about performance and optimization. Now is
It's all the sites cling too. I suppose it adds to the herd mentality. All I know is in real world speed test the iPhone X loses to the S9 and Note 8.
All I know is once you've bought android, you've lost.

Failing sales as number 1? Lol

Yes, they can peddle cheap junk all day - but when they are competing with Apple (which clearly they are in their commercials), we are talking flagships. In that respect, yes they are failing. Samsung has even told their investors to expect poor sales through the rest of the year.

Love this stuff, keep it coming!

We'll see Pencil for iPhone sooner or later, just as Apple has adopted the phablet form factor, dual-camera, fast-charging, and dual-SIM.

Yeah, love it too. Considering their Note 9 have already been beaten on performance by almost e year old iPhone X(no one should really be surprised) makes these adds pretty damn funny. Make us laugh Samy.
On a side Note (pun intended) desperate times require desperate measures.

I remember, Android fans use to bring it up regularly on this site (still can't figure out why Android fans are some prominent here). Then once Apple released their own chips and have been destroying them ever since - now it doesn't matter, but the subjective "real world" tests do. Right.

"Why would I ever want to do that?"

Funny, I've thought that about 95% of the 'features' Samsung has ever demoed (swipe your palm over the screen to take a screenshot immediately comes to mind). Talk about the pot calling the kettle black.

I have lots of moments like that too when I see new Samsung features. In fairness to them, however, they are more of a throw-everything-at-the-wall type of company which is in direct contrast to Apple's laser-focused approach. Each method has done good for each company so it's probably not fair to criticize Samsung too harshly. That said, I prefer Apple's more focused approach even if it seems to move more slowly at times.

These ads are getting funnier. And I sold my Galaxy due to unnecessary cost when competitors are doing these things for a third of the price but without the big name on the front. However if I could justify spending a grand on a phone then yes it’d be for its extra features and this is where the Note wins hands down. Clearly. However even then will, you REALLY use that stylus to justify £750 more in my case? I walked away from the more-money-than-sense phone purchase loop a year ago and went Android and the inverted snobbery and one upmanship went with it.

So. For me. Yes. Samsung between the two if a thousand quid is going spare. It’s not. I’ll stick with the Honor and live with the shame of not having upgraded - confessing such to all my gullible chums.

I don’t think it’s desperation I just think they know what niche they can get, they’ve been doing rude and sometimes outright mean (towards the users, not even the devices) in their ads for years, obviously it works somewhat.

Kinda reminds me of those dodge commercials where they were trying to be really manly “I pulled you over cause you just got passed by a Prius in a ram with available hemi...”, “ you got pulled over because you were eating a Croissant in a v8 vehicle”

They both probably work for a select group, but for all others it makes you question not only the brand but the person who actually bought it after seeing the commercial.

The Sumsung design is still autrocios! Piece of plastic for 1k! Who are they kidding?! The X is not a perfect phone either, but at least it does feel premium and aesthetically pleasing.
Stylus for a phone is as useful as rollerblades in a swimming pool lol

Apple “adopted” dual cameras?? Pretty sure it’s the other way around. Apple pioneered the use of 2 lenses with different focal lengths to create smartphone optical zoom, and depth mapping to create an artificial bokeh effect that they called “portrait” mode. Samsung was the one that “adopted” what Apple pioneered. You can say that for a lot of Samsung features.

Their ONE claim to influence, phablets, was actually something HTC did before Samsung. The first HTC 4G phone had a larger screen to fit a larger battery for the power hungry WIMAX chip.

Samsung is a fast follower. Them pretending to be otherwise is adorable.

Pretty funny considering the Note 9 still can't outperform the year old iPhone X. And yes, nobody wants a stylus for a phone. Samsung should focus more on their failing sales than Apple.

What I find really funny is how Samsung are comparing their half baked facial recognition to Face ID, they are not even in the league, Face ID is much better and much more secure.

Samsung really need to stop with these ads the only thing it’s doing is making them look desperate. It certainly isn’t affecting Apple’s sales that’s for sure.

I find it interesting how Samsung spends more time mocking Apple than they do actually promoting their own product line with the Galaxy. Perhaps they should revamp their focus, this type of marketing is agressive, but the consumer wants to _know_ about the product highlights, not the opposing competitor.
Check youtube comments and you can see this nosense childish tactics works. Most users are completely clueless especially who choose Samsung ins the first place so they believe these king of things.

It didn't matter then because iPhones STILL ran smoother. Now it's just even more noticeable.
