I think the adds are pretty poorly done, and they seem desperate . Many people do not respond to negative advertising. I’m one of them. It’s like politics. If all you can do is tell me how bad your opponent is, instead of telling me about yourself, I just tune out. Oh, and I really dont care to split screen on my phone. It’s pretty easy to switch rapidly between apps, and they fill my screen. No thanks to half-screen apps. But to each their own.
Yup they didn't show the Galaxy 9, which they were talking about in the video. Thats just more free marketing for Apple, really what were they thinking. All in all they are still funny.

I use multitasking all the time on my iPad and wanted it before they announced it, but I've never thought of a single instance in which it would be useful on my iPhone outside of PIP. If they implement PIP for iPhone in iOS 13 then I would be happy. With taller devices such as the iPhone X or X Plus I could see them doing a split screen in landscape—but that is tricky to manage well on a phone. Having two pages open in Safari would be kinda neat but again I really can't think of a time where I wished I could do this on a phone.
Watching Youtube video or a Movie along with texting your girl on whatsapp is a real situation in my view which a lot of youngsters i know like about Android.

Samsung keep doing this and it’s getting tiresome. Instead of concentrating on their own features, they bash the competition instead. It makes them look scared.

So who’s the demographic for this advert? People who are on iOS and would otherwise be curious to switch won’t go to Samsung. They’d choose a different Android OEM instead. People don’t like being told they’re idiots or lemmings because of their choice in a damn phone.

These ads just seem to benefit those painfully ardent Samsung users who hate everything Apple, think they know more than they do about technology, and gloat like children. The irony is that everything they dislike about Apple and Apple users, they’re just as guilty for and can’t even see it.

10 bucks say samsungs next phone will have a notch.

You’d loose that bet next month since the Galaxy Note 9 will debut; not featuring a notch. I’ll take your lunch money ;)

Of course you meant the next Galaxy S models. I hope Samsung doesn’t feature the notch. It’ll either a) show customers that a dropped phone will have a damaged front facing camera or eventually convince the competition not to have a notch in 2019 models yet to be released. :)

Commercial 2:
You want an SD card in your phone since you don’t want pictures in the cloud?!

- is it because you don’t trust Androids privacy statement and practices, then why are you buying android??! Lol
- drop and stomp the hell out of the android users phone.
> oh you SD card is broken and all the pictures you have are orphaned on that card, no backups? Lol that’s why cloud exists silly rabbit!!
That’s my commercial.

"What if you wanna fill the screen?". For those that don't know. You lose close to 20% from the top and the bottom of the video when you zoom-to-fill on the iPhone X but you only lose about 3-5% of the video on the side as a result of the notch.

Conclusion: Don't zoom-to-fill on the iPhone X.
The real problem is the aspect ratio and screen size, not the notch. The iPhone 6 / 6s / 7 / 8 Plus is still better than the iPhone X for watching videos, which is one of the reasons I'm looking forward to the iPhone X Plus announcement.

Samsung this morning shared three new ads in its "Ingenius" series that's designed to make fun of the Apple Genius Bar while highlighting features that Samsung believes will lure people to its Galaxy S9 devices instead of one of Apple's iPhones.

The first ad makes fun of the notch on the iPhone X, with a customer who comes into the "Ingenius" bar asking the employee about the notch on the device, pointing out that it covers a portion of the display when watching a movie.

"It does still cover up some of the movie," says customer. "It takes time to get used to it," the employee responds before the ad cuts away to a family with notch-style haircuts.

While the Samsung Galaxy S9 has no notch, it does have top and bottom bezels, with the top bezel housing the camera, microphone, and ambient light sensor, ultimately offering less screen real estate than the iPhone X.

In the second ad, "Storage," a customer asks the Ingenius Bar employee where the microSD slot is on the iPhone. "I can't find the microSD slot," she laments. "Yeah, that's because it doesn't have one," the employee replies. "Oh, Galaxy S9 has one," she responds before explaining that she doesn't want to store her content in the cloud.

In the third and final ad, a customer asks how to run two apps at once on the iPhone's display, something that's not possible. "I wanna know how to do the split screen because my sister was doing it on her Galaxy S9," she explains as the tech tells her that's not possible.

Multitasking on iOS devices is limited to the iPad, and while customers have asked for it to be ported to the larger screened phones, this is not something that Apple has implemented at the current time.

Samsung started sharing its new Ingenius ad campaign last week, in a video touting the Galaxy S9's faster LTE download speeds.

Samsung followed that initial ad with additional spots mocking the iPhone's lack of a headphone jack, the fact that it doesn't ship with the equipment necessary for fast charging, and that the iPhone received a lower DxOMark score than the Galaxy S9 for its camera capabilities.

Hey OP or Member 3;

There are two multitasking videos none about storage. ;) where you possibly multitasking and placed the same video twice? Hehee.

Market metrics have shown time and time again that Apple users tend to be more affluent with higher than average disposable income. Perhaps this is why Apple hasn't focused on adding this feature—their users just buy an iPad in addition to their iPhone X? I use my iPad Pro a lot more than my iPhone X when I'm at home.

They even copied their adverts from Apple (mac, PC)

They aren’t taking the p*ss out of no iPhone being able to be used as an IED.

Whenever I see these adverts, or Samsung’s blatant copying of everything half-decent, I’m sick a little bit in my mouth.

Samsung needs to stop spending money advertising against Apple and start advertising against cheaper Android phones. That's where their competition is eating them for lunch.

I use multitasking all the time on my iPad and wanted it before they announced it, but I've never thought of a single instance in which it would be useful on my iPhone outside of PIP. If they implement PIP for iPhone in iOS 13 then I would be happy. My favourite use of multitasking on Android is to have a YouTube video playing on the top third of the screen and then be doing whatever else I want on the bottom two thirds.

This is portrait mode so you just adjust the size of the YouTube window to be the size of the video and then still have a good sized screen below to work with.

It’s interesting to see the differences between Samsungs marketing and Apples. Samsung has become aggressive towards iOS as of late, and I think they’re focusing More on Apple it seems Over their own Galaxy line. But in the end, the user makes the decision of which platform they want between android or iOS, and iOS has a clear foothold for obvious reasons with stability, five years of support and security encryption. Those are elements the consumer wants in a smart phone and values the most.

I agree, I think they are becoming more and more aggressive because their strategy just isn’t working, people are still buying iPhones and loving them (myself include with the iPhone X) where as Samsung S9 sales are just not as good.

What you also have to ask is how many years of software updates do Samsung phones get? The iPhone gets an insane amount for example this years iOS 12 will be available in the iPhone 5S, that is just brilliant to anyone with an older phone. Also just how reliable is Samsung’s bloatware device, I have an iPhone X and not once since I brought it last year (November time) has it crashed, stuttered or anything.

What Samsung should focus on is the overall customer experience and less on attacking the company who is whooping their asses in both sales and reliability.

This. All this.

All valid points. The ads are fun. I’m starting to like the Genius even if he is nothing like the real life ones.

Lack of SD slot is a real con though. Do iPhone users not like extra storage... or even the OPTION to have extra storage? LOL

Having to have additional storage cards is just messy and a thing of the past!! Samsung should know better.
Anyway a lot of mobile users I know don't even know how to multitask on the bloody device. If a human can't what chance does technology have ?!
The only Android mobile I had was the Blackberry Priv, far better than any Galaxy S series.!!! Anyway surely since the iPhone has been around for such a long time shouldn't Apple sue Samsung again for Copyright infringement? Every time the Word iPhone is used Apple should get Royalties ? Any lawyers on here ? C'mon.. I mean you don't dis a product in front of the sales team or in public ! In some countries you can be sued for that.

People used to laugh at me with my MacBook Pro on the train ,, "do you have a dongle for that ?" so I would say "don't need one, it's in the cloud! get a life ! "
RANT OVER!!.. I'm sticking with my iPHONE, period!

That notch one was hilarious. Of all things to defend Apple over I don’t know why some of you are even defending them over something like that. They deserve to be mocked over it in my opinion.

split screen on a smartphone...since Apple has that on iPad...its clear apple still believes in a very good experience

Any time I used spit screen on a Galaxy note was useless. It’s a feature that you try to like and use but soon find it’s not great.

I would love to see a Video overlay option on the new 6.5

Having a YouTube video playing on top and let you move it around like you can the selfie video feed in a FaceTime chat

iPhone has multitasking . . . just not the unbearably cumbersome split screen like Samsung. One measly little left or right swipe switches between most recent apps smoothly in iOS 12.

One of Samsung's ads/videos demonstrates split screen usage to paste link of a video in a text message. Waste of time.
That’s not multi tasking. Multi tasking is what the iPad does.

You can have a video playing and have your web browser open at the same time.
