Does Samsung make any earbuds as good as the AirPods? Does Samsung offer 256GB (soon to be 512GB) of fast internal storage? SD card speeds are much lower. Does Samsung manufacture great notebooks and tablets that perfectly compliment one another?

Samsung should focus on letting their products speak for themselves. Constantly comparing themselves to Apple is a sign of insecurity and weakness.
They do offer 256GB internal storage in Korea and china. Rumours are the note 9 will have 512GB of internal storage but this may again only be available in Asia. They have the gear icon X, I’ve no idea how good they are.

However they don’t have an ecosystem of devices that work together as seemlesly as Apple’s devices do. Nowhere close to that.

iSheep, crapple, proprietary, overpriced, marketing hype, 3 year old specs, suicide at Foxconn. Did I just about cover all the hater bullet points?

I can't believe how upset people get with this sort of stuff, have a sense of humour. When Apple was doing this to Windows back in the day with the nerd and the gen x'er, I bet a lot of you had no issue with it.

There was no negative tone to these commercials... just a little fun. They're bang on about split screen.. I use it all the time.
I know people need to lighten up. It’s a bit of fun. I’m starting to really like the Genius in these ads. Always having these pushy customers coming in ha ha.

That’s not multi tasking. Multi tasking is what the iPad does.

You can have a video playing and have your web browser open at the same time.

That's not multi-tasking. That's having two screens open at once. To my mind, that's clunky-tasking on a phone sized device. Doesn't Samsung even call it "multi window" or "split screen mode" . . . something like that?

iPhone app switching is much more simple compared to what Samsung is trying to accomplish here.

Yes, they sell earbuds that are better than AirPods (at least in some regards - including sound quality) - link

Does Samsung offer 256GB (soon to be 512GB) of fast internal storage?

Yes - link (this one also has dual SIM)

SD card speeds are much lower.
In addition to being an extra storage (up to 512GB) the speed does not matter in most cases. When people use that much storage, usually it's for photos and/or music. In this case the speed of the storage does not matter (as long as it is higher than the requirements for playback and import/export).

Does Samsung manufacture great notebooks and tablets that perfectly compliment one another?
Samsung does manufacture both. Being Android devices, the options are not limited to Samsung only models though.

I actually really like the 2nd ads about SD Card.

I don't want cloud, I don't want it up there. I want it down here.

I want a Time Capsule backup for IOS.

How are they desperate? Every iPhone X sold, Samsung gets paid.

Desperate to sell their Galaxy S9, the one that apparently is not doing too well, you know?
Samsung sometimes think they can get away with incremental updates on their hardware (like Apple does)
But every time they do, they don't do too well. No doubt they will stuff anything they could (ready or not) on their Galaxy S10 (or X)

I bought a Samsung tablet that only had 32GB and figured, no big problem, they always talk about how you can extend it with SD cards. Got a 128GB card. Then found out I could only use it as extra file storage....not just as extra space. So almost all of my apps had to fit in the 32GB. I think Facebook was the only app that could actually be moved to the SD card. Also android is supposed to support adoptable storage, which basically makes the SD card one with the internal memory. Yea, android supports it, but Samsung doesn't. I guess I could have rooted that tablet or whatever to get it to work, but I didn't buy it as a science project. It went back in the box and back to the store.

Sure you can set up the external card for storing videos, podcasts, and other media, but the tablet was still woefully restricted as I filled the internal memory up with apps in no time.
It’s gotten better with what you can put on the cards and some OEMs (not Samsung) allow you to use a feature called adoptable storage where you make the SD card part of the phones internal memory and you can then store whatever you want on there but the SD can only be used on that phone.

However for the reasons you state above that’s why I always prefer having local storage. SD cards are good for storing media, photos and files but putting apps on there (if they can go) is just a mess.

Many of the flagship android phones are now coming with at least 64GB internal storage now though.

Some things never change!
I don't understand their obsession with Apple.

And yes, someone is feeling way too insecure, these ads say it all!

I think the only one that feels too secure is Apple. Most of the world has fled towards andriod. Japan and USA are held by Apple, which I think gives Tim a bit too much sense of security.

Andriod phones are really good these days, and functionality they are up there or surpass Apple. Obviously Apple is still super good phone, but the competition is doing very very well.

I honestly don't think the S9 not being a hot seller is going to do too much to their bottom line. Lighten up :)

1. The notch in landscape video does suck.

2. I have absolutely no need for an SD card.

3. Screen is too small to want two different apps open at the same time.

I agree in general but S-pen makes using small windows/objects easier.

I've been saying it since the iPhone 3G. Ain't nobody care about multitasking. It's a phone, not a desktop. Even if my phone is now more powerful than any desktop Samedung has ever shipped. Does Apple Music keep playing while you have Maps up? Then you don't need anything else. Because again, it's a phone.

Splitscreen! Let's get half as much done in twice the time!

You want more storage? Get the 256gb model and pay $3/mo for iCloud. Way simpler than arguing with the OS and poorly written programs to get your media to go to one drive (the SD card) and your apps to another (the internal storage). Hell, the only app I've ever used on Android that can actually be pointed at the SD card is Apple Music; Google Music is too stupid to do that.

As for the notch hating crowd... get over it. It's a better solution than large foreheads and chins. Or cheap moving camera systems.

"What if you wanna fill the screen?". For those that don't know. You lose close to 20% from the top and the bottom of the video when you zoom-to-fill on the iPhone X but you only lose about 3-5% of the video on the side as a result of the notch.

Conclusion: Don't zoom-to-fill on the iPhone X.

The Samsung doesn’t have that option, just default screen size

So there making fun of what there phone doesn’t have by Apple dose, I don’t get it Samsung

If its all about market share, .. isn't it more attractive to win it from the HUGE PIE of EVERY OTHER ANDROID phone? from people that already like Android?

What does that tell you? Why don't they hit other android brands in their infinite weak spots too? or insted..
Maybe they make ads like these that air in China and India where other android OEMs are their direct competition. In the US and Europe their main competitor is Apple.

They do, hence Apple uses their displays, SSD etc. etc.....

You can stretch to fill the screen on Samsung phones when watching videos. It does cut some of the content off but it’s not as bad as a the notch.

Although I'm not a fan of these ads I agree that the notch is a bad design. Its a shame that Apple got away with it. I hope its a temporary thing and in few years time we won't have this nonsense :)

You can switch between apps on android too. They have a recent apps button on android but it’s easier to use on the iPhone X

So Samsung phones can do split screen apps and app switching. It’s not just the one feature they have.

I have been critical of Apple and I've savaged Samsung over their ads claiming stupidly that somehow their phone is better than an iPhone, and by extension that everyone should switch just because ALLEGEDLY it downloads crap from the internet ever so slightly faster. Allegedly.

But on this point, (and the matter of the missing headphone jack defect in almost all new iPhones, (except the SE, the only reason I would even consider buying an iPhone today... sorry, the 3.5mm stereo/mic minijack is non-negotiable in an AUDIO DEVICE,) Samsung scores some excellent points.

The notch is plucking STUPID. It's such an amazingly moronic idea that someone should be not only fired over it, but sued, then beaten with rubber hoses. That's how stupid an idea it is. Lack of an SD card (or microSD or uSD, specifically, a microSDXC) slot is a MAJOR limitation of an iPhone, and something that makes me feel a considerable amount of antipathy towards Apple. (That and the headphone jack, and the supid clucking notch.) To hell with the notch.

As for splitscreen multitasking, that I could take or leave alone, myself. It's perhaps a fair criticism, that since Apple likes to pretend that iOS is a single operating system, (it's not, it's two or three or four, with, admittedly, a common interface and coming with some different apps depending on which device you have, which therefore means depending on which version of the OS you're allowed by Apple to run... either way, Apple should stop pretending that iOS is a single OS,) features available on one version should be available on all. The "but it's a phone," argument falls down when you look at the iPhone as a computer masquerading as a phone, which is what it really is, and it just happens to be able to pretend, when necessary, to be a phone but really it's a computer. The way I use it though, it's a phone, the screen's pretty small, so I don't generally find myself wanting or needing to multitask, simultaneously, on the same screen.

Apple really SHOULD just enable the feature on iPhones, though not by default as the results might be a bit hard to use. But because I only use the iPhone SE, (the 6 and 6plus and all later versions,) are too big to fit comfortably in my pocket, no matter how "thin" Apple pretends they are. It's still a big rectangular hunk of metal, even if they rounded the edges off, which by the way makes it way easier to drop.

Samsung this morning shared three new ads in its "Ingenius" series that's designed to make fun of the Apple Genius Bar while highlighting features that Samsung believes will lure people to its Galaxy S9 devices instead of one of Apple's iPhones.

The first ad makes fun of the notch on the iPhone X, with a customer who comes into the "Ingenius" bar asking the employee about the notch on the device, pointing out that it covers a portion of the display when watching a movie.

"It does still cover up some of the movie," says customer. "It takes time to get used to it," the employee responds before the ad cuts away to a family with notch-style haircuts.

While the Samsung Galaxy S9 has no notch, it does have top and bottom bezels, with the top bezel housing the camera, microphone, and ambient light sensor, ultimately offering less screen real estate than the iPhone X.

In the second ad, "Storage," a customer asks the Ingenius Bar employee where the microSD slot is on the iPhone. "I can't find the microSD slot," she laments. "Yeah, that's because it doesn't have one," the employee replies. "Oh, Galaxy S9 has one," she responds before explaining that she doesn't want to store her content in the cloud.

In the third and final ad, a customer asks how to run two apps at once on the iPhone's display, something that's not possible. "I wanna know how to do the split screen because my sister was doing it on her Galaxy S9," she explains as the tech tells her that's not possible.

Multitasking on iOS devices is limited to the iPad, and while customers have asked for it to be ported to the larger screened phones, this is not something that Apple has implemented at the current time.

Samsung started sharing its new Ingenius ad campaign last week, in a video touting the Galaxy S9's faster LTE download speeds.

Samsung followed that initial ad with additional spots mocking the iPhone's lack of a headphone jack, the fact that it doesn't ship with the equipment necessary for fast charging, and that the iPhone received a lower DxOMark score than the Galaxy S9 for its camera capabilities.

Most viewers are having a good laugh, so it works in favor of Samsung.
Well if a good laugh is all Samsung is looking for you’re probably right.
If the intent is to have Apple like mobile revenue, profit, cult like following, they need another approach.
They have been doing the same scenario for years.
Still haven’t reached Apple level.
