Plenty of iPad Air sammy screens had the left hand yellowing. I also doubt that this rumour is read or influences any more than 0.001% of iPad purchasers.

Oh I know, I was just showing the guy I quoted I could play the same game :)

wrong rendering

Why do you keep posting this wrong rendering of iPad an Macbook?

In the rendering the iPad looks like 15-16 inch and not 12.x, since it's the screen sizes that has to be aligned/compared and not the bodies of the devices.

So the iPad 12.x inch will still be smaller than a Macbook Air.

Cheers

I'm still hoping that the 12" iPad and 12" Macbook rumors are talking about the same device.

My iPad Air is still good for another year nothing seems to excite with this update, it seems my iPhone 6 plus stole the spotlight i will wait for the next major update (not sure if i will go 13" though).

There seems to be a sad contingent of Apple fans that inevitably get their collective panties twisted whenever Samsung is mentioned as a supplier for Apple. This I don't understand. Apple doesn't seem to care enough not to use them. So why should we? In the end, it's business. It always has been. It always will be. Apple will use whomever they have to use to continue generating profit... moralizing be damned.

I personally don't give a hoot about who's components are inside as long as the final product meets my expectations. If it's Samsung's components, so be it.

Current iPads probably bend 5x as easy as iPhones. Guess what? Doesn't matter, you don't put it in your pocket.

Damn I just wasted money on clown pants!

But I do wonder how many tablets end up getting crusted on beds or couches with people falling asleep on them.

A 12 " iPad/MacBook Air combo would be cool to compete with others in the market.

Most people don't get the point of a big iPad, but when you work in digital editing or music production it'd be an amazing touch interface.

Id buy it for a large Logic remote alone. Being able to use it as a mixing desk would be great and Slate Digital sell a large touch screen interface just for Pro Tools called the raven (at a multi thousand pound price and its a very slow poor touch interface) a large iPad would knock the sock off this at a quarter of the price and I'm sure many professional app makers would use it as a large control surface for software.

It might be a slightly niche market for Apple in terms of the iPhone sales but then so is the Mac Pro.

"The iPad Air 2 is rumored to feature a slightly thinner body"

I wonder when this trend will end. I guess when the iPad is a piece of paper.

Wow, it seems late to start putting out display panels. It is already the end of September. I guess they can pump them out fast.

Won't it be called an iPad Plus?

I just thought I'd say this because they seem to be changing their naming strategy

Here's hoping for a faster screen refresh rate as scrolling through text is painful - then that's it for me until at least a 2nd or 3rd gen "Retina HD" model.

"First gen" products with a higher resolution tend to struggle somewhat with the extra graphical demands, I prefer the device to be able to comfortably handle the new resolutions instead of just about supporting them.

Isn't the iPad air the 3rd generation of the iPads with retina? The iPad 3 was the first iPad with retina

Queue me up for the iPad Air Plus Pro 2

Because the '2' is for Gigs of RAM.

I'm with the person that says, just put OSX on it.

Not because iOS is better/worse, but because I can do more with OSX, like play Lord of the Rings Online.

.

Because Steve wouldn't want two Å thick, we set it to 1Å.

Apple is not going to make a 12" MacBook and 12" iPad. It will be either, and my guess is the MacBook.

Btw, I don't get a comment that iOS is a crippled OS for a device like iPad... What is not working, what is crippled?

Can someone make sense of why Apple would want their competitor to manufacture their displays when it's like an open invitation to corporate espionage?

Correct me if Im wrong, but to my knowledge you cant add mp3's to your music app unless you buy it through, or sync it with iTunes

From a personal point of view - I would love if I could use the iPad Pro in a similar fashion to a Wacom tablet. Use it on the iMac for editing photos, graphics etc.

Actually, thinking about it - can the current iPad work in that way already?

You guys are so naive. Apple and Samsung might talk a big competitive game but one company's supply chain helps another's profit margins, so it's win win for both companies.

Waiting for the ensuing Apple Insider meltdown as posters are already trying to find out if their iphone6 has any Samsung components so they can demand an exchange ...

If it has stylus it's an instant buy for me. If not I'll skip. iPhone 6 Plus and my MacBook Pro are enough.

don't know if they will do it or not ... but for sure I will stop complaining about that idea. When the iPad mini was rumored, I hated the idea of a smaller iPad - guess what I love it now that I have one. When the iPhone 6+ was rumored with 5.5 inch screen, I hated the idea - guess what, now that I have one (mostly due to the bigger battery and better camera) - I love the screen size (still borderline acceptable, but I don't want to go back to a smaller one). So maybe there is something to the 12.9 inch iPad that I don't get until I use it.

It's not a matter of being naive, it's the difference between Apple choosing horizontal or vertical integration

12-inch Retina Air, retina iMac, upgraded Mac Mini, iPad Air 2 and an iPad Pro all coming this fall? I'll need to see it to believe it.
