This, coming from the company that made fun of Apple for removing the headphone jack and the charger... Only to do the exact same thing months later. Samsung doesn't mention all their cameras are far-sighted. I've used an S21, the text clarity is abominable!

So, so boring. I thought we realised long ago that Samsung appeal to users who want to buy Samsung stuff. Most people I see have iPhones. Didn't even realise this rivalry was still a thing.

Samsung's not wrong. The iPhone 14 Pro Max will have a pill shaped display cutout, a slightly better processor, and slightly better cameras. Yawn. I'll still trade in my iPhone 13 Pro Max for one, but it doesn't excite me.

Samsung, and all Android phone manufacturers seem to choose the small-brained tactic of BIG NUMBER = GOOD which appeals to only the most uneducated consumers. Everything is a facade with the implication that more is better, when in reality everything is of a poorer quality and done to a lower standard. It’s like someone showing off their brand new McMansion, a nice gigantic house constructed with only the finest cardboard and paper mache.
So you haven't used a recent Android device. Got it.

What a stupid ad.
Let's cash in on that FOMO, why don't you do something to BENEFIT humanity Samsung?

I bought an iPhone because I want an iPhone. It doesn’t matter how great Samsung’s phone is.
Perfect and precise. Without the need to criticize the competitor…. people have their preferences and that’s all there is to it. But this obsession with I choose Y over X… so that means X is garbage whereas why can‘t both X and Y be great devices.

The only things I have ever bought that are Samsung was a microwave and a washing machine. Haven’t seen much innovation in these products either Samsung!!

Samsung just wants Apple iPhone's sales margin. It's too bad, they will never catch up to the iPhone. However, I do welcome the competition. But don't be throwing shades. That's low!
I agree. You’ve liked my comments on my Samsung phones, so I know you are fine with wide viewpoints and I know you know that I love my S22 Ultra. My husband loves his Fold 3. Samsung does a lot of things right.

Lol and we DO get some amazing photos of the moon, though I do have serious questions about how exactly that’s done. I personally suspect some onboard data is used to supplement the sensor data to create the perfection of the image. Because I don’t get the same level of detail and perfection from random terrestrial objects taken from massive distances!

Sorry, I digress. Returning to your point, it’s incredibly annoying when Samsung creates these ads that just reignites the stupid fandom rivalries. There are people on this forum who love their Android phones and are capable of intelligently discussing them without resorting to cheap put downs of Apple. In fact we can speak of how Apple seems at times too many steps behind Samsung or Google without casting immature shade…because we also own Apple products. Care and respect go into our criticisms. Blind fandom is something we speak against when it surfaces on this site.

Samsung always comes out looking ridiculous when they resort to these stupid ad campaigns. Especially when we know they’re either going to copy exactly what they’re mocking or they are going to sell their stuff to Apple. I’d have thought they’d have moved past this by now. But maybe it amuses someone at Samsung to troll Apple and its customers like this. Maybe it’s all an inside joke between Samsung and Apple that we don’t know about. 😆

Yes, they are AI renditions of the moon, not actual moon photos. Because we know what the moon looks like from every angle it's non-trivial to "enhance" whatever shot you take of the moon based on your location and the angle you are shooting at.
That was my suspicion as well. Of course, I’ve got nothing to back that up… Given how well known most of the night sky is, all the Android astrophotography efforts could be built on knowing what’s SUPPOSED to be there and then making it be there. :)

I personally thought the ad was witty. I didn’t think it was ridiculous at all, but that’s just my point of view. The ad comes off as if it’s hyping up the iPhone then trades little jabs here and there. It’s all just fun and games (imo).

No actually, please do get started: What exactly is so bad about the latest samsung android phone compared to an iPhone? Give me the 3 biggest issues they have compared to the iPhone.

I'm not trying to be combative, I really am curious...

Privacy, bloatware, it might set on fire.

Galaxy S22 Ultra to me is better looking and enjoy the form factor overall. However with a MBP and a family that has iOS I am limited to Apple for now.

If they would stop with the stupid shiny stainless steel border that's a fingerprint magnet in addition to smaller bezels (rumors say that's what we are getting) I am happy.
I really dont understand the need want for smaller bezels. Its not like having a bezel that is 1mm thinner is gonna be some game changing thing.

In a new ad, Samsung is throwing shade toward the lack of "innovation" on the iPhone while promoting features such as a 108-megapixel camera and 100x "Space Zoom" available in its latest devices.

The ad, titled "Buckle Up," is aimed toward current iPhone users and promotes the Galaxy S22 Ultra, the new Z Flip 4, and features not available to iPhone customers. "Buckle up for Apple's latest launch," the ad says. "As you enter a world where heads will turn, just none in your direction." A world where "the highest resolution in a smartphone will be in someone else's pocket. And that epic moon shot that's getting all the likes won't be yours." "This innovation is not coming soon to an iPhone near you," the 30-second ad concludes.

The ad comes just six days ahead of Apple's "Far Out" event, where it's expected to announce the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro. Apple is planning major new features on the Pro camera systems for its higher-end devices, including an all-new 48-megapixel camera and possible 8K video recording. Alongside camera improvements, the iPhone 14 Pro is rumored to feature an always-on display and a new pill-shape notch replacement.

No matter what, their phones still run Google's bloatware-laden Android which is one of the main reasons I went to iPhone.

You're your own biggest enemy.

We wouldn't get such limited yearly updates if people like yourself didn't just buy them anyway because it's the latest Apple device, even though you admit to the fact it's a very dull and minimal upgrade. If we vote with our wallets they'll give us more meaningful updates.

I also don't get the excitement about the pill cutout, it's barely smaller than the notch on the 13 Pros, that tiny space between the pill and the bezel is giving you nothing of any benefit.

As usual, they focus on features that aren’t very important to me. And, honestly, people don’t need 108mp sensors in phones to display images in HD. And I can’t imagine being happy with any moon picture coming from a phone camera.
Yep then 6 months later they go and copy Apple, like they have proved in the past 👌🏼🤣😂

I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra right now. It has an edge to edge curved screen and that is one of the worst things about the phone. I literally can’t type on the damned thing because my hands keep touching the sides, resulting in mistyped characters. I have resorted to swiping instead of typing. It works well enough for me. And when you look at it, the light bends around the curve. Without a case on, it creates a weird glow. I will admit the edge to edge thing looks kind of cool but at least for my use, it causes problems. Some bezel will help to reduce accidental touches.

It is clever and probably the people in Apple laugh and appreciate the shade. That’s why I said I think there’s some humor in there that flies over our heads.

But I hate the effect it tends to have in bringing all the nastier fanboy attitudes out on the attack in the communities where we just want to enjoy our phones in peace.
