It would be nice to have a zoom feature like that. You know it will be coming, so they have a point.

Personally, I like the ad. It's good to point out weakness in an extremely competitive market, or "Lighting strikes that which stands tallest" and..... other clever phrases. :)

In a new ad, Samsung is throwing shade toward the lack of "innovation" on the iPhone while promoting features such as a 108-megapixel camera and 100x "Space Zoom" available in its latest devices.
I'll still never forget the very first 108mp camera which had autofocus issues that were so bad it was almost like they never even tested it. Instead they were probably too focused on “we gotta be first to deliver a camera that our toxic fanbase is gonna think is 9x better than the iPhone because it’s 9x the megapixels and that totally matters! 😬”. And while they did add laser AF next year, it should've been there from the start.

Apple doesn't do anything like that. They want to be the best, not the first.

1. The whole Android software UI is confusing and too much.
2. Lack of Privacy.
3. Lack of updates to the latest Samsung phones.
1) I figured that's was you're main issue. But that's just a matter of what you're used to.
2) You think you have any privacy with anything you do? And if you're talking about someone hacking into your phone and stealing your pics, show me a recent news story of that being an issue with android phones.
2) The latest samsung phones absolutely do get updates.

Well they did have under the screen finger print scanners for years. It works really well, even on their low budget 250€ phones and offer a nice under the screen camera on the Fold 4. competition is good you all.

And in regards of privacy, Apple doesn’t mind all these trackers in App Store Apps either. I have over 1k requests today. Mostly from FB which I don’t even use.

Any app on the store is full of „spyware“

Very much so. Cams had megapixels wars a while back. Real photographers/hobbyists knew that it was the lens that made the diff. And no number could help you with that.
Not just the lens, the sensor. Especially the sensor. Right now you can find plenty of alibaba-grade “4K cameras” on Amazon that produce files with a 4K pixel count, but have all the visual quality of a serial port webcam from 1998. Even the Leica M11 “only” has a 60MP sensor.

Lmao not everyone in here getting butt hurt over an advertisement 🤣😂😭

A guy I used to work with had an S21 Ultra and the pictures were really impressive. Showed me some star pics he snapped when him and his buddies went camping in the mountains. Really cool stuff. Meanwhile the camera on my XS is pretty much only meant to be used in the daylight 😂

Tbh Samsung’s got one of the best builds of Android and one of the best ecosystems for android and accessories. It’s not for me, but you can’t deny their presence. Their Ads are for people like me who are on the fence. Android has been tempting more and more as the years go on, but it’s a matter of starting over again—I’ve used iOS since 2008. The roots run pretty deep. But yeah yeah Samsung = Bad and ✨Apple✨ good yeah ooga booga

It’s all in fun. Competition is good. As little as ten years ago we could not have dreamed of what Apple and Android have put on the market. This generation takes far too much for granted. I’ll sound like a curmudgeon, but when I came out of college fifty years ago and went to IBM the internet was still twenty years away and I was submitting my jobs on punched cards that I had to keypunch myself. We even had to get off the couch and change TV channels BY HAND. We are living in an age of technological miracles.

I feel like Samsung’s tech has matured enough at this point to no longer need ride on coattails of iPhone hype. Plus it shows them as lacking confidence in their own brand.

I have never had an iPhone before, having always bought Samsung phones and currently have a Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. It is a decent phone, though not my favorite. My favorite was my Note 8.

I am largely an Apple user. I have a MacBook and an iPad and my phone largely sits unused every day. I always follow the iPhone releases because they are entertaining. It is fun to watch all of the rumors and then see which ones come true. This year, I am very seriously considering the iPhone 14 Pro Max (or whatever it ends up being named). My main reason is because of the integration between apple devices. I think that I would use my phone a lot more if it were tied to my other devices, instead of floating out there on its own. If I do move, there are a few things that I will miss about Samsung phones.

1. Camera zoom. My phone has 5x zoom that works very nicely. I use it all of the time. The S22 has 10x zoom and the upcoming S23 will have at least that. The 3x zoom of iPhones seems kind of lame in comparison. As far as the numbers are concerned, I don’t really understand the nuances. The Note 20 ultra has 108 megapixels. Perhaps the iPhone 14 might have 48, if rumors are to be believed. I understand why Samsung pushes these numbers because on the surface, it looks better. Of course I have a friend with an iPhone 12 and her pictures always look better than mine.
2. I like the ability to customize the UI on my device. Samsung has tons of nice themes. I can put icons wherever I want and they stick. I can space them out. I can also adjust the size of the grid so that I can fit more icons. iPhones have a big pile of icons that do their own thing. Honestly, iPhone UI looks old and uninspired after all of the years of little to no changes. To my eye, Samsung UI looks nicer and more modern.
3. Samsung is miles ahead in terms of widgets. I like that Apple has been adding that ability but it isn’t close yet. I do use some of the widgets on my iPad.

I would have added always on display to my list, but it looks like Apple is putting that in iOS 16 and from what I have seen, it looks like it is going to be pretty sweet.

I really think that this will be the year that I finally make the move. Also I just ported from Verizon to T-Mobile and it didn’t go well. My phone is acting like hot garbage now and I don’t want to go through the pain of having to wipe it and set it all up again.

Samsung makes good panels, but I hate the Android operating system. I have a Samsung S95B TV; great picture but lousy operating system there too.

Never understood the "WOW YOUR PHONE SUCKS GET OURS" argument. Why would I switch to a company that uses these tactics or marketing? Is this to make other Samsung users to feel mightier than Apple users or is this to get Apple users to switch to Samsung? Feels like the former more than the latter
You realise this type of advertising is also exactly what Apple has done for years? Notably, “Privacy, that’s iPhone” and “I’m a Mac”

Biggest reason to avoid Samsung TVs. Quantum Dot Displays look great but the UX is dreadful
