Samsung didn't include any bloatware, Spotify is the most used Music streaming App, and they have a partnership with Samsung so it's extremely expected for them to pre-install the App plus offering 6 months of Premium Membership.

I'm using the general definition of bloatware. You're using the definition of only unwanted (and useless?) software as bloatware. Both definitions are correct.

I really don't have any issue with Samsung including Spotify. It's useful to many people. It's still bloatware though.

Using your definition, if I purchased an S10, I'd remove Spotify because I don't use it. For me, it would be useless and a waste of space. Therefore it's bloatware to me according to your definition and is bloatware using the broader definition I use for bloatware. According to either definition, it's bloatware for me but not bloatware to you using your definition (but is with my broader one).

It's not, because you can uninstall it?
Edit: Bloatware is an App in which users have no interest in using at all and is there consuming resources and can't be uninstalled. That doesn't happen in this case.
Edit2: "Lol"..

If you don't use the app, the only resources it uses is storage space. The base storage on samsung phones are 2x the base storage on iPhones.

If you really cared about storage space, you would be complaining about apple. Since your aren't complaining about apple, you must not really care about storage space.

Nice job, you just compared apples to oranges.

Congratulations! You win today's discourse, sir!
Nope, his point is right since Apple users like to consider Google as "bloatware"
He did win this one. You, did not.

The point is that the first user was making a "useless" argument on how Samsung pre-installs bloatware. I'm explaining how Apple also has bloatware which in fact couldn't be removed and some still can't. Thats the main point here since the first user was clearly trying to push an off-topic riot, on how "Samsung phones have bloatware.... bla bla bla" Do you get the point now?

I don't understand if you're agreeing with me or not? I didn't complain about storage space and couldn't care less about Apple's lack of it.

No different to iPhones.

The amount of bloatware that iPhone has is laughable compared to what some Android phones have.

Facebook
Messenger
Instagram
Whatsapp
Todoist
(insert third party weather app of choice here)
Google Chrome (part of an Android, but if you already push your own browser, then why Chrome?)

...these are off the top of my mind. There are more (varies from device to device).

And plus, on all of that, you have manufacturer's bloat.

Apple has only Apple's "bloat".

EDIT: "Oh, I forgot Android's bloat (Google Play services and such).

So, please...let's not fool ourselves.

No different to iPhones.

Yep iPhone users seem to forget just how Apple insert advertising everywhere in your iPhone. Music app for one, you're welcomed with a huge button for trying Apple Music

There's also iCloud backups, Apple happily sends you a notification when you run out of iCloud storage (mostly because of photos), then offering iCloud upgrade just for X $ a month.
Open Video app? Boom .. Apple wants you to fill up your movie library, another link to iTunes Movies section.
Open Watch app? Well you know Apple wants you to buy the Apple watch Series 4 only for $399 LOL

Just because it looks nice doesn't mean it's not there. The iPhone, starts at $749, and comes with preinstalled ads everywhere LOL

Gee it must be really hard to download apps from the google play store. Otherwise this doesn't;t seem to be a thing at all

Always wondered what Apple Music's sub number would be if it wasn't pre-installed on every iPhone and the Music app/iTunes didn't spam you.

I'm all for using the better product, not if what's more convenient because it's "from Apple" and pre-installed.

I have “Show Apple Music” turned off in settings, and I still get a pop up every once in a while asking me to come back (I did their 90 day free trial and ultimately stuck with Spotify)

I am a long time very happy Spotify subscriber. I subscribe because I want the highest quality and the ability to play my downloaded music when I am flying.

Samsung is trying to add value to their new phone, and likely to grab a few $$ from Spotify in the bargain.

let's not forget Apple is the KING of bloat. Everyone's got their Apple-bloat folder of **** they don't use.

It's all a matter of perspective. But what makes this newsworthy is this could have a big impact on the Spotify vs Apple music war.

So basically, bloat means the Apps that most users are going to install anyway, and Apple's bloat which are their own Apps they're trying to push down your throat, yet Google doesn't have rights to pre-install Chrome and Google Play services, required for Google Play Store, in their own OS. What Android phone did you use? A Galaxy Pocket from 2012?

You're absolutely right, but don't bother arguing with the user, there's no facts you can tell that will open his eyes.

Samsung takes a fee from Spotify to have it pre-installed. Reaction: Samsung sucks

Apple takes a fee from Google to have google search be the default. Reaction: Tim Apple is God.

People are going to take a swing at Samsung because it's Apple's biggest smartphone rival. They're also going to take shots at Google because they're not making bold statements against law enforcement.

In reality, no company is perfect. Apple and Samsung are both making transactions that improve their respective bottom lines. People who take a swing with Samsung for "Spotify bloatware" aren't really viewing the economics behind the transaction.

Apple extreme lockdown on its own services is detrimental in the long run. You still can't ask Siri to play music on anything other than Apple Music while Android gladly let's you select your streaming service of choice on the assistant.
Yeah, hasn’t worked out at all so far to the most profitable company in history.

I use Spotify on IPhone, For my use it’s better than Apple Music, but it’s always the same on Androids phone, let the users choose the apps, don’t pre-install any app on this, it’s not good for all.

Your stat is misleading. they are not installing this on 2 billion Android phones, are they? This is US only new Samsung devices.

I think it's bloat nonetheless, even of 75% of S10 users we're gonna download it anyway. But that's beside the point.

Geez, drinking vinegar again? iCloud storage is more of a synching service, than a long term storage platform Just get your free 15gb of onedrive and google drive, and backup away! Video app? no, pretty sure there is no app "Video" in iOs. iTunes is on a Mac or a PC, LOL.
