That's Korea in general. they have quite the complex of being picked on by China and Japan for centuries, and now they're just copying the worst of American culture.Never known of a more insecure company than samsung…
MP only matters when you are printing large (poster sized) images. You want resolution so the image doesn’t become soft. Though in the case of a phone the lens matter even more since the sensor is going to be small anyways.Wait, are there people who still think megapixels matter? 108 MP is just silly and a BAD thing. That's excessive even on DSLRs. Why would anyone want 108MP with tiny optics and sensor? Reminds me of the now-irrelevant CPU clock speed wars of the pentium era. RAM is even becoming an weak stat since the utility of more is a function of the speed of storage and software optimizations.
Sad that there are many luddites who look at a 5-bullet spec sheet at best buy, see a "big number" and figure it must be a superior technology.
If we are talking about the high end phones, I doubt that is true. You might want to check that. Profits and margins are a different story, but Samsung sells more phones than Apple
This.Samsung ad campaigns seem aimed more at re-assuring their own customers rather than trying to gain new ones.
Typically the person who makes the claim is the one that needs to back it up when asked. Can't just say something happened and then when asked for proof of it, tell the person to go find it themselves. Kinda kills your argument immediately even if you have one.Do you think I am your personal shopping assistance?

Well, both are important (though why anyone needs 100+ on a phone escapes me; that’s nearly 2x what my full-frame setup has, and it’s a waste with phone-level glass). I’d rather larger sensor than an over abundance of pixels, but more than 12 would be nice for cropping and general image quality. I’d love to see something like a 1”-type 20MP sensor on an iPhone. The megapixel race is one I hope apple doesn’t enter. It’s about sensor size not megapixels.
But I do wish they had announced astrophotography.
People are really ignoring the satellite stuff- biggest phone development in years.
Yes, that's totally why they named it that obviously. Not like Apple has ever used the word "Ultra" previously for the higher end model of a product.Good comebacks. Apple even used the same name scheming like Samsung Galaxy Series with the Apple Watch Ultra.
Yes I do think these ads are a joke. Life’s short bro, don’t get worked up over something so minor.I disagree. These ads dont strike as “humorous” or “made in jest”, they seem pointed and desperate.
Jest /dʒest/: To make a joke.
Do you think their ads are a joke? 😂
I think Samsung is a joke.. so maybe we agree?

Well, as they say, the best camera is the one you have with you. I bring my Sony A7RIV with me when I can but for family pics at the park or whatever, sometimes it’s not worth the hassle (your Fujifilm has an advantage on size there, I think). So I’d like to see improvements in phone camera technology. Still, 100MP is absurd on a tiny phone camera and lens. 20-30 would be ideal if the technology and optics can match the resolution. But a more powerful optical telephoto would be higher on my phone cam wish list at this point.I, personally, do no care about hardware that much as long the UI experience and ease of use is superior in any directions.
I also do not give a crap about the camera on the phone. Furthermore, I have Fujifilm X100V grade camera for real photoshoot.
No matter how crazy insane spec the camera is, if you have bad eye, bad angle, bad lightning for the photoshoot—it will look bad no matter what. Photoshoot depends on the skills not hardwares.
