1 day battery life, are they freaking serious? This is not a smart phone; it is a watch, and I don't want to be plugging it in every 24 hrs!

I wanted to post the exact same thing. Even if 24 hours of battery life is a good value for such a device (but what I highly doubt) this will never be an option for me. Private and business laptops, smart phones and now a watch to be charged every day? No.

Meh. For example - this watch doesn't do anything without a phone connected to it. So this smart watch doesn't appeal to me. And I doubt Apple's offering would either. Again - I don't want/need functionality on my watch. I wear a watch when I want to know the time and/or for a fashion "statement" - IE jewelry.

So you weren't even interested in the first place? Why complain when it doesn't have certain features then?

Massive fail, as usual wait for the real McCoy from Apple. This is a prime example of why Samsung copy, their original ideas suck!

How do you know Apple will ever release a "real McCoy"? If they never release a smart watch, will you never buy one?

One day battery life? And after that day, it can't tell the time anymore?
Please tell me, that there is a second battery in it, just to keep the time!
Two decades old Casio watches, will look like the future next to this.

Apple releases the iPod and iTunes and the music industry is disrupted & forever changed. CDs die off and the music model is blown up.

Apple releases the iPhone and the mobile industry is disrupted & forever changed. Mobile power houses are out of business within 2 years.

Apple released the iPad and the desktop/laptop industry is disrupted & forever changed. PC manufacturers start going out of business and profits plummet and the industry moves to tablets.

So, to you maybe not, but you're living under a rock.

You forgot the Macintosh. People expect apple to push the industry because that is what Apple does. They've disrupted 5 different industries and changed each of them forever. We'll see if they have two more in them (wearables & tv).

Have you not seen Samsung and other tech companies devices before and then after they copy Apple?

You should probably stop with that notion. It's only going to start a flame war

So you weren't even interested in the first place? Why complain when it doesn't have certain features then?

Who is complaining. I stated that it's not for me and certainly not at that price. That's not complaining. I might ask you why you're concerned enough about what I think to reply to me (twice) as if you're going to change my mind or whatever you think you're going to accomplish

All these negative comments are hilarious! Watch when Apple creates one and everyone does a 180 on the concept. Too funny!:D

If Apple ever released a piece of junk like this, they'd be shredded in the comments here. Samsung is actually getting off relatively easy on this, simply because no one expected any better of them.

minimum 7day battery life needed, would prefer 1 month between chargers.

You want a smart watch with month run time, no problem!

Just don't complain when it completely covers your forearm and weights 25 pounds.

You need to be a bit more realistic. Look at how long an iPhone lasts and the size of its battery.

I think a better option would be a paradigm shift in charging.

humm.. pebble for 200 or this peice of junk for 300?

how much is it worth to not have to pull your phone out of your pocket

and has anyone thought " maybe I don't" want my messages showing up on my wrist for all those close to me to see"

8 hr battery life? Samsung cant make a phone last that long with 5x the battery size

All these smart watches are just pathetic, ooohh look at me reading my email or SMS on a tiny tiny screen! Yeah and then you pull out your smartphone anyway to reply

Seriously, all you need is a watch to tell you when you get a call or message, not squint your eyes reading it!

I also bet the majority of people on here stating they never wear a watch would magically change their minds the second Apple announce one.

How do you know Apple will ever release a "real McCoy"? If they never release a smart watch, will you never buy one?

Well, let's put it this way - if this Samsung offering represents what "smart watches" will be, I absolutely will never buy one.

Apple has been known to put interns and new recruits on projects that don't exist to see if the information gets leaked out. I too wouldn't be surprised if both iWatch and iTV are just that, ruses to show how stupid these other companies really are.

How do you mean "Apple has been known to"? Can you point to any official evidence?

Maybe Apple leaked that idea to make interns think that the project they're on isn't worth leaking.

In truth, I suspect Apple doesn't allow any intern anywhere near anything commercially sensitive.

Not at all. If Apple released this piece of junk, they would be laughed at too.

There is no reason for this device to exist. 1 day of battery life - that's it? At least Apple is smart enough to wait to release something until it's actually substantial.

1 day of battery life is PHENOMENAL for a laptop or tablet, but for a watch, it makes it completely worthless. 1 week is more where it should be.

It's not fashionable, and it's clunky. It's got the 'specs' that the Apple watch will have, but 'specs' alone don't win the war.

Do you remember when the original iPad was released? Apple got dumped on by all the media at how worthless the iPad was. The media does not love Apple at all. Only once the iPad started selling well, did the media back Apple.

I like my watch to tell the time, I don't have a need for a computer on my wrist, I don't care who makes it. My watch battery lasts 3-5 years. Why would I want something else to keep charging every night.

Even if Apple makes the iWatch I don't know who would use it.

You mean a charging ecosystem like this?

Wireless charging? Old hat.

Wireless charging ecosystem? Innovation

Except when actually tested the iPhone 5 is much better than the 4s and in many many regards better than the S4.

At the end of the day - specs and benchmarks mean little. It's all up to the user experience SPECIFIC to the user experiencing it. It's subjective.

These days - you really can't go wrong choosing Apple or Samsung's high end phones. Anyone that argues otherwise is just in it for a pissing contest.

Casios new Bluetooth G Shock watches last TWO YEARS on a cell battery FYI. And they do what a smart watch should do, notify you of messages and calls, not let you try and read and reply, look like a tool talking into it, or shoot HD video.

god no!!!

until now we had a bunch of goofs walking around gawking at their phones in their hands bumping into people on the street or malls... now we'll have bunch of the same goofs walking around elbowing everyone because they're gawking at their watch uugh...

not to mention texting and driving... "no officer I wasn't texting I was just reading off my watch" ...

I think you are confusing Apple with some crapware company. Apple would put out something as unrefined and multi-buttoned as those watches just as soon as Raul Castro cancels a May Day parade because he is ringing the bell at the NYSE that day.

I think you took that the wrong way. It wasn't a remark on Apple but Samsung. They don't have an Apple watch to copy so they create a "unique" looking watch that has "no" comparison in the market today or 30 years ago lol. If Apple is indeed making a watch I'm sure it will actually be unique not a joke like this thing.

I was so stunned by its horrible looks that I didn't even notice the statement that it doesn't work on its own. I'm wondering does that mean it needs the phone in range to tell time? Or am I going to be charging my phone in the house, go outside an cut the lawn and not be able to see what time it is?

Why? There could be a wireless charging solution. If the watch can provide a functionality that really enhances whatever part of my life at a reasonable price than I don't mind plugging it in during the night. Who wears their watch during the night anyway?

Long battery life would be great, but would it be a deal breaker? I wonder. It's a first world problem...
