Face ID vs to Touch ID is night and day for me, Face ID by a long shot. As someone who works in custruction and lives in a cold climate being able to unlock my phone without taking gloves off or with my hands covered in dust is probably the best feature for me
I can't think of a single person who was crying out for a "better" way to unlock their smartphone. Let me ask you this: How has FaceID made your smartphone usage more productive? Please, no marketing speak. I want tangible things which demonstrate how you've been more productive with FaceID than with alternatives.

What the hell? That was really a new phone? I thought it was just a version of the old phone with a new camera.

Samsung is completely out of ideas.

For what people are calling an incremental upgrade to the S8, it's one helluva increment with that Camera. Keeping the beautiful design of the S8 with even slightly less bezel on top and bottom was a wise decision. Not having a hideous and intrusive afterthought notch, keeps the phone looking sleek and very modern. You want animated emojis? Samsung does it better with AR Emojis. I don't know anyone that uses Apple animojis. But already, hands on users are saying they would most definitely use AR Emojis. Why wouldn't they? We use emojis all the time, and Samsug just took it to a new level with the way they implemented AR emojis to use across all social media. There's not a doubt in my mind that more than a few people here, and few of the Apple butt kissing tech reviewers, secretly wished Apple did the same thing. Instead, Apple gave you a poop faces and unicorns. smh.

I don’t know what reviews your reading but all I’ve seen is people saying that;
1. AR Emojis is a clunky name
2. They’re super dam creepy
And I totally agree with both those. I prefer Animoji over AR Emoji any day

Looks like a great phone! I just wish Samsung now beat Apple up making a mouse as well. Not that Apple isn't beating itself up already with their current mouse.

I like I said, I work in construction and live in Canada. With Touch ID it would never work while I was working and would always lock me out because my hands were wet or covered in dust. While in the Winter unlocking my phone sucked because I had to take off my gloves and use the fingerprint sensor and freeze my hands. Also Touch ID failed way more time that Face ID ever has for me, I’d have to keep resetting it (because of the custrucint things, standing my finger and stuff), I’ve never had to reset Face ID once in the 3 months I had the phone. Night and day for my Face ID it far more useful. I wasn’t crying for a better way to unlock my phone but now that I have Face ID I can’t go back.

loved how they had to keep dissing apple but they copy Animoji, such a lame update from Samsung
Who cares about that. Every tech company copies each other. It’s called competition. I’m excited for the variable appeture on the cameras. But I really want a zoom feature that isn’t ass. Like we had better zoom back in 2005 from those cvs cameras. We need like 10 times real zoom to be a thing. Like a motto mod but you don’t need to carry around that big thing

Didn’t watch the whole thing. The camera improvements sounded interesting and overall it sounded like a solid update. However I’m not interested in it.

How is removing the headphone jack an evolution?
[doublepost=1519599400][/doublepost]
Ouch, you really stuck it to me. Got anything of substance instead of ad homs?

It's not really an evolution more likely a convenience. I broke a lot of wired headphones because over time the wire at the base of the jack bent and at some point stopped working. Having no wires means there is one thing less that can fall apart.

I hope they make fun of the notch to promote their sleeker looking phone, as it’s a horrible design choice by Apple.

Of course you prefer Animojis. Just like you prefer a notch obstructing your view of the display. If I'm ever looking for sound judgement on any matter, I'm most definitely calling you up.

The whole phone looks painfully bad haha.

Worse than the receding hair line iphone x? lol. #recedingnotch

I dunno... i find that a talking poop is pretty creepy. Why would anyone want poop to talk. ?

Headphone jack? You must still be complaining when they got rid of VHS tapes as well. How about floppy disks?

VHS and 1.44 floppy both had viable successors. What's suppose to replace 3.5mm? Don't tell me wireless either, cuz we know it's garbage and yet another device to keep charged.

Justify the removal of the headphone jack. I dare you.

OK, so unlocking your phone using your finger was problematic and FaceID has solved that. Once the phone is unlocked what do you do? Look at it?

A huge waste of code dedicated toward adults acting like children. :apple:

If they are acting like children, they are not really adults now are they. They are just older children. Its like we all knew people in high school, that no matter how old they got, they still acted like they were in high school. Now instead of people that stop maturing in the teens, they stop maturing pre teen. That is our good education system where our fine educators never tell the children how childish, immature, and out of touch they are.
