Of course you prefer Animojis. Just like you prefer a notch obstructing your view of the display. If I'm ever looking for sound judgement on any matter, I'm most definitely calling you up.

Oh why that you I really appreciate the opinion of a nobody on the internet who needs to feel better about himself and demote others, what a great guy

It's not really an evolution more likely a convenience. I broke a lot of wired headphones because over time the wire at the base of the jack bent and at some point stopped working. Having no wires means there is one thing less that can fall apart.
It just means one more thing to charge, or get lost. I'm typing this on a wired keyboard with a wired mouse. Why? Because I see no benefit to constantly feeding batteries to a keyboard and mouse when wired works perfectly well. Just because you prefer something different doesn't mean the "old" is bad.

OK, so unlocking your phone using your finger was problematic and FaceID has solved that. Once the phone is unlocked what do you do? Look at it?

Face ID is also able to hide notifications unless it’s my face and auto fill my passwords for my face. Im not seeing your point here. The point of Face ID vs Touch ID is the unlocking of the phone. What the point of afterwards?

The problem with unlocking with the screen off is the amaount of battery that wastes by the phone always looking for a Face, and with apple 5 and locked out security feature the phone will be locked every time you open it, it’s be a really stupid thing to do, making it faster is a far better sulution

Not really an issue if the LG V30 can do it and still offer good battery life. OnePlus does it with the screen off I think too.

Kinda like iphone6 and later.

Well played! But really, smartphones are small rectangular screens with metal, glass, or plastic backs. How much new design do we need or expect from them every single year?

Go ahead and buy the Samsung phone, and ditch any iPhones you have. Apple won’t miss you and the handful of others who want to stay wired to your devices.

I own a Sony Xperia Compact. I prefer phones that are practical and not ones that a company is so smug to change things for the sake of it and deem it as a pro.

I can't think of a single person who was crying out for a "better" way to unlock their smartphone. Let me ask you this: How has FaceID made your smartphone usage more productive? Please, no marketing speak. I want tangible things which demonstrate how you've been more productive with FaceID than with alternatives.

Personally, I would never go back to a phone that has touchID in it after using faceID.

VHS and 1.44 floppy both had viable successors. What's suppose to replace 3.5mm? Don't tell me wireless either, cuz we know it's garbage and yet another device to keep charged.

Justify the removal of the headphone jack. I dare you.

I was using BT headphones before Apple removed the jack. I really wish people with get over it already, the jack isn't coming back...

My point is that you need your fingers to do anything with the phone once it's unlocked so what benefit does not using your fingers to unlock the phone buy you? If all you can do is unlock the phone and then look at it then it's a non-starter.

I dunno... i find that a talking poop is pretty creepy. Why would anyone want poop to talk. ?

You have your opinions I have myn, I don’t mind the notch, actually prefer it, and I like Animoji better, sue me

As I thought...no substance, just ad homs.

I guess they just couldn't help copying this from Apple too.

Aha - you mean ad hominem. Trying to impress beyond abilities. You can have this one, girl.

FaceID is not a must have. The only people who care about FaceID are those justifying the iPhone X

Much better than confusing opinion with facts. But you can have this one, girl. I honestly could not care one bit about quasi internet intellectuals...

Exactly! Yet we have people spending an awful lot of money every year to get the latest and greatest one. A few weeks ago I asked iPhone X buyers how it had improved their productivity. Not one person was able to provide an answer. Instead I received marketing speak. This is not aimed at Apple, this is aimed at all smartphones.

1. Touch still works with dusty hands it’s just the fingerprint sensor
2. Touch screen comparable gloves

IOW you still need to use your fingers thus FaceID doesn't really buy you a much.

Why? There are many who prefer the headphone jack. I prefer wired keyboards and mice. Am I living in the past?

They don’t do it with the screen off it’s just faster cause it uses a 2d image instead of 3D mapping. Face ID has 3 component that use battery as far as I know those just use the camera

Yeah, sure you do.

You’re really not understanding my point are you...so close minded
And the way it see it the notch adds more screen space where other phones would not have any, therefore I prefer it

This is very silly. They "copied Apple"? Is that the only thing you could find fault with? There's more noteworthy tech in the S9 than at least the last two Apple Keynotes combined.
It's a way one street because no one here will say apple copied so-and-so. It's always the other way around because the world revolves around the fruit.

Bitmoji... anyone heard the app. No one mentioned anyone copying them.

aye, smear some grease on them dual cameras while trying to unlock your phone with the fingerprint sensor on the back, right below the camera array :)
960 fps slo-mo is impressive, even at 720p. on the usability part however, there ain't no way before to fill you storage that fast. kind of curious whether there's a max length limit on 960fps shots.
