I watched the event live, it was cheesy as Apple events are too, but that Galaxy Fold 3 was glorious. And the fact that they made it water resistant is incredible.

I liked how they showed real usage scenarios that were compelling, I am not very into foldables but this one made me think about Apple's future offering, I can't wait to see what they come up with.
Splash resistant don’t get it twisted ;)

I can buy an iphone, iPad mini and AirPods for the cost of the fold.. not a fan of the foldable phones, please Apple don’t do this ..
Agreed to a point.

if an iPhone 12 mini or 12 has a rollable screen, the main are protected by proper invictus glsss over the main area and then a lever pulled to extend Up or wide when needed only with dust and water resistance I’m all in.

folding no. I still feel Motorola Razr’s fold imolemration is better than Samsungs with less crease on the screen

I have a feeling that foldable phones will have same destiny as 3D TVs.
Folding phones may never make up the majority of phones sold, but it isn't really comparable to 3D TVs. 3D TV's need specially created content. They require you to done special head gear to even use. They require buy-in from entire families. They could not handle modern standards, like 4K. You need critical mass in the populous to get creators on board. Etc.

A phone that unfolds into a tablet already just works fine. Going between modes is slightly easier than moving between two independent devices. It requires no lifestyle changes. Mass adoption is not needed. They work now, for basically anything you would use a phone or tablet for. And that is the most important thing.

I think I’m gonna get these, that way Apple can’t scan any of my photos. Samsung and Google would never
/S
That's not the issue with people that are against it. The thing is Apple was so privacy focused etc while Google was not and privacy was the sole reason I went with Apple again even though I was planning to get an Android phone and a Windows machine.

Seems Samsung have tried to make this more mainstream with lower price. Minor upgrades and no doubt laid back on camera features to keep cost low

The screen shots don't look like that, but it certainly could be true. I have a Razr already and the screen fold never bothered me. (but the whole screen isn't flat, even if you don't count the fold) I just ordered the Flip 3, so I'll find out soon enough. The better water resistance is something I'm looking forward to. The Razr is basically any water at all = broken)

That under screen camera is hideous 🤦‍♂️🤮 crease is more visible than ever before. 🤦‍♂️

Guess samsung is waiting on apple to fix samsung flaws, so they can copy them. 😂

That's because everything is obvious in front of a camera lens. This was the same with the Fold 2, but in person, I barely notice the crease on day to day usage.

I'm sorry but that under screen camera is a pixelated mess, better off keeping the punch hole. 🤦‍♂️

IMO, these round Samsung watches look good. Mostly because I prefer the round form factor over Apple’s rounded square.

Let’s see what Apple has up it’s sleeve in the fall...and no, I don’t suspect them going round.

watch MKBHD video he talks about it for a bit, looks terrible and very noticeable.
Basically all the early reviews have said it is noticeable if you look for it. But surely it is less noticeable than a punch hole, and far far less noticeable than a notch. I'd say it is a moderate improvement.

In all those reviews, it is clearly there when zoomed in on, but in most of the wide shots you don't see it, even when you are looking for it.

I've seen his video. It's his job to nit pick. In person for the average user, it might be as subtle as the crease.

I do agree they should have kept the pin hole for better quality on things like Zoom calls. But I doubt anyone is buying this with the best camera quality in mind.

I'm the opposite. I prefer a less noticeable camera to a quality Zoom camera. I'd be content to just use the front screen for Zoom, and have no inside camera at all.

I still love the idea of a folding phone but when I see the crease in that plastic screen... I’m glad my iPhone is a solid brick. Very curious if they’ll gain even more traction with the update, they’ll have to drop the price some more though.

The fold Z 3 looks amazing, now they just have to make it way thiner and get google to make android suitable for tablets. If it’d be 1200 euros id consider it

I can't see how a display the is flexed over and over again isn't going to degrade. I could believe a two-screen phone with a precision hinge might work, but no one that bends the screen. I'll pass.
