Can't have reports unless people are buying the product. Hardly anyone wants this nonsense. And for the "witty" comics who are saying that if Apple's name was on it people here would buy it....perhaps so because if Apple does it this technology will be done right. Samsung is enjoying the people testing this for them because the ones buying this right away just want to be first on the block to brag to their friends. That fold is so ugly only a diehard Samsung fan would try to pretend it's not noticeable.
I remember seeing videos of their offering last time around and it was pretty bad. No way I would pay that price.

I love the look of the Z-flip, but after that DankPods video, I don’t think I’d want to risk owning one.
Yikes. I looked that up, and it basically shows that the screen is exactly as bad as the gut feeling is it would be. Even setting aside the big old failure crease in the middle, the simple fact that it's every bit as soft as it seems like it will be.

It's the previous version, so they've probably worked out some of the kinks (pun intended), but if the previous version could be dented with a fingernail, I'll call myself extremely skeptical that they've improved the screen enough to make it a product you'd actually want even if it doesn't crease after a few months.

I have both, I prefer square, it looks better and has much better screen real estate.

I have both too, and I prefer round. Being able to turn the dial to flip though screens is much more natural than trying to pinch a tiny button on the side.

But, Apple works best with Apple and Sam worls with Sam, so I use the Apple watch, as the iPhone is my main.

That's last year's model. I'm pretty sure they improved things. For instance, the outer layer is a new material, more glasslike, called PET5 (Polyethylene terephthalate).

My iPhone has been my primary a long time too, but when my new Zflip comes in, I believe that's going to be primary. I'm going to try zfip+Apple watch to see how things go. I'm worried about batttery life on the watch mainly. If it doesn't work, I'll have to think some more. My Samsung watch is the previous model and I'm not real wild about it.

I'm a sucker for the ecosystem, that's why I stick with iPhone. But it's gettting harder and harder to ignore Samsung.

This was the same issue with the Original Fold. Couldn't remove the screen protector without damaging the display. And the screen protector got damaged easily with your nail. But on the Fold 2, you are able to easily remove the screen protector without any damage. And the actually display is not prone to finger nail damage. I had the Fold 2 since release with the screen protector removed, and the display is just fine.

With the Fold 3 and Flip 3, the screen protector is of a different texture and easily removed as well.

Why is the fold so much more expensive than the flip? The flip looks like the more attractive device to me, but even if you prefer the fold, they price difference seems crazy.

Samsung achieved this by switching the material to PET (Polyethylene terephthalate), a type of plastic the company says is 80% more durable than the previous material. This new resin improves upon the original in scratch resistance, so you won't have to worry about making a divot with your nail. In the Z Fold 3's case, it's also designed to withstand the force that the S Pen will apply to it. Like the old protector, it's not actually glass, so it won't break if it gets dropped or hit.

Was watching Linus Tech Tips video, and he stated the Fold 3 screen protector feels almost as good as the Fold 2 without the screen protector. If he's right, I'll leave the protector on until it shows obvious wear.

The Fold 2 screen protector didn't feel good to the touch at all.

If you’re on this website - you’re a tech guy/gal. I’m also an Apple only guy (I have owned a few androids over the years, HTC ONE X, Samsung Galaxy S2,5,8,9+) but have owned nearly every iPhone barring the 8 and 11. I am excited about the upcoming 13 and will be getting that. I just say though, it must be exciting for android fans to be able to get something that’s truly interesting and not a small minor upgrade.

I'd like to see some numbers on its accuracy. Biofeedback based body composition measuring has always been erratic, but perhaps those devices rely on a single measurement.

I'm curious how accurate this type of measurement could be if you're able to take a lot of readings, average them, and apply an algorithm.

The battery life of a Watch4 is said to be up to 40 hours. Consider me interested. I've been a FitBit user for years, but the day the Apple Watch is able to deliver close to 2 days of battery life, I'll seriously consider switching.
At their event they said it's like 98% accurate or something, but of course we can't take their words for granted. I'm curious how accurate it is too but eventually would love if Apple Watch adopts the same feature

Ha, I guess Samsung hired the ghost of Steve Jobs.

Bioimpedance is not known for its accuracy. At 98% accuracy it'd be neck and neck with the gold standard of body fat measurements, underwater floating. I'd consider it a win if it were just 90% accurate in the wild.

More screen real estate that is available to the user when unfolded. The Flip 3 in particular gives you a 6.7" screen, but when folded into clamshell mode is smaller than an iphone 12 mini!
Yes I can appreciate the fact that it folds, but why? You get a slightly bigger screen at the cost of twice the phone thickness and a crease in the middle of the screen. I can understand how this may appeal to gadget freaks but what is the appeal to the general public. At least with the larger one it can kind of be used as a half baked tablet with a compromised screen. If Apple are going to go down this path they really need to do better than this.

Serious Microsoft Kin Phone energy. Like the Kin phone, my reaction is "Oh that's cool and cute, but why?"
