So, both apple and samsung are wildly successful, wildly profitable and wildly popular. Is that such a crime?
It's funny how some think Samsung is not innovative but yet forget that they already had working samples of 10nm ahead of Intel.
Qualcomm is using Samsung's second gen 14nm fab for its up coming snapdragon and ditched tsmc.
To bad the a9 is on its first gen fab as Samsung is on max capacity making exynos 8890 and snapdragon 800

I've seen it in a cartoon I'll Have you know, so it must be true..
I don't need a link since about 90% of Samsung's lineup is made by crappy phones and they sold most of their numbers in the sub $400 class (where they are even more crappy).

The "under 400 USD class" is less about smartphone quality, it is more about customers being able to do their maths and being able to make intelligent decisions because they have full immunity against marketing-propaganda-machines and brainwashing advertisement. These class of customers don´t let themselves easily take for fools, you know… Guess what enterprise I am talking about?
As for the "over 400 USD class" : Apple gives you not just one, but two products:
1) an "under 400 USD smartphone" (= product #1)
and
2) apple adds its all-time most selling product, which is called: "iMAGINATION" (= product #2)
Product #1 and product #2 are only sold as a bundle!
and - just because you are a really exceptional smart guy - they offer you a very special deal:
both (product #1 and product # 2 in a bundle) for just 999 USD together !!! You want even a second bundle because its so much worth the price? ok, because it´s you….

(but Wozniak was fascinated by Microsoft/IBM, so he did not invent the personal computer, he refined it a lot - a very important evolution)

And Steve Jobs way to "share" With the INVENTOR Wozniak was telling him to share the profits for the first deal they did like brothers do: 50/50.
In reality, he was lying about the amount of money they made and "sharing" meant 8% for Wozniak and 92% for Jobs….

In my opinion the iPhone is just THE BEST, by far, smartphone on the market.
Not "among the bests". THE BEST. No contest.
Brainwash advertising ? The company trying hard to be Apple is Samsung.

I just go in an Apple Store and try their products before buy.
Samsung ? They have a very special ability. They are talented in ruin a good specs list with a uninspiring , incoherent, unpolished realization.

It's quite simple, they spent the money because they're insecure, vain, and programmed to believe expensive possessions will raise their standing amongst their peers. At least that's the profile of millions of people in the USA.

My comment actually was about less expensive phones, and how they're just fine for the majority of people. But I can see now how you might think it applied to something else.
Each time we return to the obvious: both Apple and Samsung make smartphones of superior quality and are both making money hand over fist.

That's your opinion but fact is iPhones are comparable to mid range Android devices. If you want SAMOLED, precision pen, etc. like the Note 5 you're going to have to wait until 2018.

If you’re using an iPhone 6s or 6s Plus for any remotely color-critical work like viewing and/or editing photos and videos, it’s a pretty fair bet that you’ll be able to rely on these phones to provide an accurate color reproduction in pretty much any condition. Samsung does provide better contrast and the possibility of extra color saturation with their Galaxy S6 and Note 5, but this comes at the cost of potential for burn-in, increased power consumption in certain scenarios, and increased distortion with changes in viewing angles.

I posted tests from two different well known websites where every Samsung phone was demonstrated as inferior to an iPhone and now you are looking for the s6 edge plus.

Contrast ratio is cheated in amoled displays because of the blacks.
