Deluded bias.

Samsung case supports charging with USB-C and wireless.

AirPods case has a proprietary lightning charger.

But they give Apple case the edge because the magnets are a little bit stronger. o_O
The ability to wireless charge is cool, but the airpod 2 is expected to have that also. Samsung however, released it first. USB-C is about the most meh thing in my own opinion.

"Magical"
The magnets make all the difference in sound. More magnets = more sound.

Looks cheap.
Sorry I can't hear you over my expensive mastercrafted AirPods.

That would be a reason to buy AirPods 2, not AirPods.

This forum can be very strange. In one article it's unfair to compare the "new" S10 to the "old" XS. In the next article the Galaxy Buds are being compared to hypothetical future AirPods 2.

You'd think the simplest thing would be to compare products that are actually available to buy for about the same money.

They look almost the same as air pods- sorry you didn't catch that, The case and in white??
Lmao what? They look almost like the air pods? So if someone is walking down the road with Galaxy buds you would mistake it for airpods? You may need to get your eyes checked.

So the case is white...a white Toyota Corolla and a white Bentley flying Spur looks the same...they are both white and 4 doors!

All good points, but why in the World did they have to copy so much of the design?
What did they copy? The color white?
"Nothing alike"? There are so many similarities. Yeah, the Samsung buds are in ear, but the case especially looks so similar.
Pill shape and dental floss container shape and you say similar?

Careful, you're just asking for a flame war with those who think Apple are nothing but a marketing company who are always late to the party.
Unless, like me, you enjoy baiting them... I'll throw a line out while I'm here.
Total rip off as usual. Let Apple be avant-garde, let apple take the heat, flames and criticism then come waltzing in a few years later with something identical and try to take all the credit.
Flame on critters...

Reverse charging is interesting, but why do it to the case? It should have capacity for multiple charges of the EarPods anyway. It would be better if the reverse charging worked on the earbuds themselves wouldn’t it, for those times you don’t have the case?

I only ask because garbage in, garbage out. I'm not expecting these to compete with Shure in ear monitors but you gotta have at least a decent audio source to begin with, right?
Another Shure user! Whoo! I can actually comment on the Air Pods, which sound awful compared to wireless bud monitors by Shure, which also sound worse than their wired counterpart. I never tried out Samsung's rendition of true wireless buds.

I listen to mostly FLAC audio, and when I did my observation tests I tried out classical music, classic rock, single instrumental, etc. I think the nuances of anything will be lost over EDM or house. Or that screaming crap kids listen to these days.

For single instrumental, especially for guitar lovers, you really ought to listen to acoustic, electric and bass to get a good idea. And, ideally, you'll want to listen to the better artists who have a nuanced playing style; light almost inaudible plucks of the strings.

With Shures, you're going to end up spending hundreds to get close to a decent wired source.

JBL buds.
Probably don't sound as good as the AKG buds, either. Funny as both JBL and AKG are owned by Samsung. :p

Who wrote the ****?

An incredible ability to pad out the word count without actually saying anything of importance.

Wakeup call for slowpoke lazybones apple designers. Airpods could have been so far ahead after the 2 year headstart.

As elsewhere in electronics for years- Samsung just copies a successful USA product instead for inventing something on their own...
We're Number 1!, We're Number 1!, We're Number 1!, Everyone knows the great US of A invented bluetooth headphones..... oh wait a minute:

https://www.quora.com/Who-invented-wireless-Bluetooth-headphones

(they were invented by Dutch electrical engineer Jaap Haartsen, working for telecom vendor Ericsson; not a sniff of f****** USA)

Two things they didn’t review I’d want to know about for comparison:

1) range. i can wear my AirPods throughout the house and most of the yard with my phone in the house, much greater than any other BT device I have.
2) ability to speak in a high noise environment. I can talk on the train, in noisy events and everyone hears me fine.

How does the Samsung compare?
Saw another review. Range is better in the AirPods Bay about 5 feet or more as the buds cramped out at 20. Work best with the S10. AirPods were better at calls and voice. AirPods will mostly likely do well in those two catigories.
My Earin which I love are smaller and in terms of features (maybe sound) better alternative to the buds and fit in your ear. More expensive thoigh. But AirPods still do better in calls outside and ease of connectivity.

True. I hope some day Apple can get the technical skills to "flatter" samsung by introducing wireless charging. And maybe Apple can take some aesthetic cues too and ditch the q-tip look.

Oh, you didn't mean to imply Apple came up with truly wireless earphones did you? There were other options long before airpods came along. Apple was "flattering" Braggi with their old obsolete airpods. And there's about a dozen different ones on the market, most with a better sound quality (and often higher price point) than Apple.

Did I just read a 500-word review of earphones in which there was no mention of how the earphones actually sound?

They probably sound comparable to the airpods. Passible for people who don't really care about sound quality. If you're the sort of person to buy these or airpods. Sound quality doesn't even rank on your priorities list.

Do the Samsungs include interchangeable ear tips in different sizes? I did not see it mentioned in the article.

Funny that Dan says this. Apple fanboy, UrAvgConsumer did exactly that. Switch to Galaxy Buds for use with his iPhone. Says AirPods don't fit his ears.

For me is the opposite. Hva e tried quite a few buds in my ears, they all fall. With AirPoda I can run, exercise, do all sorts and they don't ever move from my ears.

In my experience ..... Galaxy Buds vs AirPods

Sound quality ... Galaxy Buds.

Fit ... Galaxy Buds.
Should vary with different sized ears, but Samsung includes differ sized tips and wings(for lack of better word).

Design ... Galaxy Buds.
Cotton balls are better than Q-tips. :p

Ease of putting in and out of ear ... AirPods.
You just grab it and throw them in your ear, and just as easy when taking them off. When placing the Galaxy Buds in your ear, you have to also twist it so the wings will lock in your ear. It's also not as easy to take out of the ear as the Airpods.

Reliable fit ... Galaxy Buds.
AirPods are much more likely to fall out my ear vs the Galaxy Buds. The Galaxy Buds are a pretty solid fit.

Case ... I'm going to call this one a draw.
Both cases are tiny and very pocketable. The shape of the AirPods case and higher battery capacity gives it the edge. But Galaxy Buds case has USB-C charging port, wireless charging, and an external led light.

Battery Life ... Galaxy Buds

And I am glad you added "in my experience" ar the very top.
Otherwise, I would have rolled on the floor laughing.
