man this thread is still going? Haha, cant wait till this phone comes out and hopefully will quiet some skeptics ...

Yes, even if iphone was a piece of **** brick, the itards would still buy it.

Based on your post history you're an Apple-hater. An Apple-hater posting on an Apple forum. It isn't the "iTards" (seems to be your word of choice here) who are "tards" . . .

Sound like a typical FanDroid.

It's true. Reputation is king right now. There would need to be a couple cycles of lackluster iPhones combined with a full on, year-long marketing blitz on Samsung's part to make the tides turn.

I wonder if I'd be able to trade my 4S straight up for an S III? Probably not. Beh. I want to give Android a go before the 2012 iPhone is released still.

Well I wouldn't use those exact words, but yes, I agree.

The myth of "iPhone's superior usability" is still strong (and the "screen size myth", and the "app choice myth"...), while the latest Android ICS, in my opinion, is ten times more user friendly then iOS. And this comes from a person who used the iPhone since 3G until 4S.

But I'm still pretty excited about the new iPhone, I'm very curious what they will try to pull off. Hopefully not "another Siri".

Well, competition never hurts. I would like to see facial recognition on the iphone as an option to replace the passcode lock, but I feel like having the front camera sensing your eyes like on this phone would use up a lot of battery since it would have to take a picture/video at least every few seconds.

The creativity of your thought of the facial recognition made me :D

In my case, I used to be a lover of all apple things. Hence I got an acct on his site. And than Apple started charging tax to publisher and suing everyone. I still use mac os so I come back to follow it.

Apple calls for an early ban on Samsung Galaxy S III, isn't amused by S Voice

protecting innovation. thank you apple.
Explain to me what Apple "innovated" with Siri?

S-Voice and Siri are both using the same tech designed by Nuance.
Apple doesn't own the tech or have an exclusive license to use it.

Hell, S-Voice is simply Vlingo with a facelift.

Sounds more like their scared and trying to push for a BS customs hold like they did with HTC.
Apple knew HTC's new phones didn't violate their tech. They pushed for the hold just to be *****.

The phones cleared and the only one with egg on their face over the matter is Apple.

siri is magical and revolutionary. and thanks to siri, i finally have someone to talk to! siri gives me goosebumps every-time i talk to her. dun be an insensitive anonymous coward on the Internet. :apple:

I've had the S3 for over a week now. I can confirm that it's build quality and battery life are excellent. I'm used to the screen size already, going back to a 3.5 inch screen is not a nice experience. It's quick too, it'll browse the web much smoother and faster than my iPad. The 50gb drop box (twhich works seemlessly ) and micro SD card slot mean that you can have acres of storage capability. Also, chrome beta mobile is the nicest mobile browser by an order of magnitude.

It's an amazing phone.

Bad points - S Voice understands what I say but rarely does anything useful with that information. If I try and set an alarm with it for say 6am, it will say 'would you like me to set an alarm for 6am?' Which I confirm and then it sets one for 10.59! Useless.

Magical and revolutionary my ass.

Seriously, do you isheeps ever pull your head out of your ass for once?

Don't be such a huge rotten apple sheep/drone/if4g on internet.

The Galaxy III seems to be a very appealing offering. Certainly the most capable and powerful smartphone out there, however it is a Samsung phone which means Touchwiz and Samsung «support».

It's something like this: Touchwiz isn't bad as such, nor is it great. Plain vanilla unaltered Android system is fine, also. Perhaps not great in all respects, but point is that Touchwiz neither adds nor subtracts anything substantial to the experience of using the device.

It does make one huge issue though: Samsung support for Android. There is no timely (or sometimes at all) OS upgrade from Samsung available because they aren't really that interested in supporting their own devices.

So when one buys a Samsung phone (and they're very good phones, hardware-wise) one had better not expect *any* support. The device is sold as is, and it will pretty much stay that way.

In that sense, Samsung is selling their phones like they are appliances like a toaster or something, so if there comes an update to the OS, Samsung would simply have you buy a new phone and throw the old one away.

Regardless, the Galaxy III is certainly Samsung's best effort, hardware wise yet and looks and feels very good. The size is not for everyone, but neither is the price.

That last sentence was an open invitation to have a look at your recent posts and you reek of fanboyism. Granted, the post you quoted was very odd, but just look at yourself. You're just at the other end of the spectrum, what's wrong with being in the middle? I have an iPad, an iPhone and a Macbook Air but I don't think too highly of Apple, and I also own a Samsung Galaxy S2. I don't think Apple is better than Samsung or vice versa, I think they both make great products, and they both have their hits and misses. I'm just saying all this because I looked over your recent posts and you just came across as a teenage fanboy and I just wanted to make sure you knew that there's nothing wrong with expressing your opinion in a way that doesn't insult other people or tarnish companies and products as crap. So just leave the "iTard" business out of it if you want some respect for your opinions.

S Voice is built on top of vlingo. A voice recognition app that was around long before Siri.

I am hoping that Samsung's refusal to change their hardware for the North American carriers changes this a little bit.
