We Apple users don’t hate android users as well, just the mindset. For example, improvement is exactly innovation in a meaningful way, exactly describes Touch ID and Face ID.

Now, if to you that’s not innovation, by your own definition there hasn’t been innovation on android either, just some modicum of improvement.
The thing is Android would have eventually improved on the system. Look how the OS now beats the XS Max when it comes to speed test. You can also look at how Android phones have under the screen fingerprint scanners. Shoot, they even created phones that have Motorized or slide up Cameras to eliminate the ugly notch.

Android also reinvents the wheel. They just introduced Foldable Screens. Also most Flagship Android phones are using 5G. Apple customers have to wait till 2020. You're speaking nonsense at this point.

Except price  Apple was ahead of the pack to be honest, but they’ve become almost stagnant since 2012. Together with excessive pricing and having lost the edge, you’ll probably understand the amount of complaining :(

Well, the prices are high, but I still feel like I am still getting good value. I don't fully agree about the stagnant part though, as I have been really happy with a lot of Apple products since 2012. Apple Watch, AirPods, iPad Pro (my main computer since 2016), HomePod, iPhone, Apple TV, all stick out to me as products I have enjoyed and help me do the things I need to do. You can definitely pick out products that are potentially better than those I have listed, but the combination of quality, software, services, security, privacy, apps, and ecosystem between them all makes for a great package. Personally, I look at the whole package and don't really focus on a spec here or a feature there. It's not worth my time and I prefer consistency across all of my devices/services.

To each their own though - everyone has a right to disagree and prefer a different route. Everyone is different and it's great that we have the choices we do today.

The o/s doesn’t beat the max as the reviewer said android apps crashed left, right and center and reviewer went back to iPhone.

In fact the spec2006 benchmarks the a12 leads in almost every test. And to my earlier point, pop up cameras aren’t innovation, they are a disaster waiting to happen.

Android invented foldable screens in the same way android invented oled. And you are more than welcome to pick up s Samsung 5g and tell me how that goes with your 5g service. I’ll wait till 2020.

I understand you’re happy with Apple in total because you’re all Apple and haven’t used or tried anything else lately. When money isn’t the problem, it’s okay. But there is so much better gear outside the walled garden today that it’s a very hard sell for Apple to attract any new comer to that garden if that new comer knows what’s available on both sides.

This person gets it!

Why value less? No one should pay more for less. That's a bad way of life. Sometimes you just have to wake up and realize you're being cheated. I know Apple fans feel like they are in this secluded club and all, but I rather be part of a team that doesn't force me to pay $40 for an adapter to charge my phone and play music with AUX at the same time.

Your definition of less or value may be different than mine. I don't feel cheated and appreciate everything the Apple ecosystem brings me. I use an iPhone and iPad Pro as my main computers for personal and work use, all my files are in the cloud, I never need a dongle, I stream everything, I have an NAS for downloading torrents, managing my Plex and HomeBridge servers, in addition to any local storage that I need access to. I have adapted to that way of life and I am more productive than I ever was. Everything works perfectly and I am fine with the costs because I get a good ROI. I don't feel like I am in a secluded club or anything like that, it's just a preference and what personally works for me. I respect that it may not work for you or anyone on here though.

Yup, and the differences between the two OS’s are pretty minimal at this point. They both just do things a little bit differently than each other, stick to certain values let’s say, and just choose different routes to get the same things done. We argue over such minimal differences in the end.

Way to much logic, in a partisan world. (i appreciate it though).

I like technology and like the driving factors that manufacturers are using to make better products.
Having said that - I hate the iPhone XR, (but just canz not return to googles OS) BUT ALSO can not justify the expense of the XS, or XS Max (so yes PRICING is a factor in upgrading). I am well into the FULL Apple ecosystem of hardware and have been since I had switched to Macs' when the first intel units were made. It's just now thinking all this extra money for what? My Macbook Pro 15 (2018) love it all except this stupid keyboard. Sat there saying do i really need to spend $300 more for this? (Bought for my self employment Business use).
The lack of hardware updates forced me into the Hackintosh universe for my desktop. Just cant think of spending thousands of dollars on a "Pro" system form Apple thats either outdated or severely overpriced!

Choice is a good thing, but sadly Samsung decides to copy Apple on the Price, this is where they blatantly copy everything apple, but unlink Apple, copying the price IMHO is going to make them lose sales more than Apple has. (End of rant.)

Edit for spelling

I tried an S8 when it came out (internal company testing, used for 2 weeks), so I have a general idea of what it is like. I understand what Android brings - bleeding edge features, customization, more control, etc., but that stuff just doesn't resonate with me. I am not too worried about new comers or what Apple needs to do to appease certain customers - I just use what works for me. If that changes one day, so will I.

Well you have every right to buy the products that bring you personal value. It just comes down to what you value from your tech products, whether it's cost, specs/features, customization, performance, security/privacy, ecosystem, apps, whatever. Everyone values different things and needs to make choices based on their personal values. If it's not worth it for you, then it makes sense to try something new.

Honestly I see nothing extraordinarily different about iOS. I use Android, but played on iPads at my job to demo them for customers (Ironically I sell Apple Products) But the lockdown, corner the market business practices of Apple. Not to mention being late to innovate, and removing features to bring back later as a keynote. Sorry... I went on a tangent, but things like that is why we are so vocal against Apple.
We want the others to open their eyes and see that the grass is greener on the other side. If Apple lowered prices to support the hardware, and opened its support a bit. I would try it out, but till then. Android and Windows is where I'll stay.

I don’t see the point in trying to ‘open other eyes’ about this because it’s purely down to preference. I have no intention of going back to Android myself at this point in time because iOS works great for what I need. Too many of my friends have tried Android in recent times and been back with an iPhone due to being wowed by the device bit put off by the operating system. It’s just personal preference and it’s good it works for you.

I never get the locked down bit either. What do I need to do on my phone that I am not currently doing with an iPhone? I’m sure there are things people do that are very niche requirements but for me iOS is more than capable. My only gripe with Apple is that they are overcharging for their XS range. My solution to that is not to buy those phones though and I’m no worse off anyway. It’s pointless trying to sell or convince others which OS is better because they are both very capable platforms that essentially do the same thing.

Android Authority: Samsung Galaxy S10 smashes DisplayMate records, gets highest ever A+ grade. https://www.androidauthority.com/samsung-galaxy-s10-displaymate-962022/

Well, we expected this results.

With this, we can also expect many who will lament that Displaymate results are hocus pocus :p
Samsung always make better quality screens, what’s new?

If you are one of these people who obsess over screen quality or who buys purely for this element then great. It’s also possible to admire that the S10 is a fantastic phone without wishing to buy one though because iOS is your preferred platform. That shouldn’t be ignored.

I understand the whole ecosystem thing, but I use cloud storage for my Windows machine as well. I can also use a NAS, Dload torrents and everything you do with no issues. Difference is that I can do all of that with lower cost, but for better performance.

They don't even allow iMac's to have i7 processor's. They force you to get a $6000 computer with a Xeon, or pay $2600 for a Macbook that's locked at only 16GB's of Ram unless you specialize the order, but now you're in the 3 GRAND RANGE! There are Dell's that are Touch Screen and are loaded with a i7, 512GB SSD for $1600. You can also up the ram from 16 to about 32GB's in them.

I just don't understand the logic man. I use an iMac for my work computer and its not any easier or better functionality wise than my gaming, Windows PC at home. Well other than Macs not being compatible with tons of games.

Majority of the items I sell at work are accessories that are pricey. Want to hook your iPhone to a TV or Projector. Its $50. Need to listen to music in your car. That'll be $10 for a dongle. Oh wait! You want to charge your phone as well? Then its $40. I people at my jobs moved from iPhones to OnePlus 6T's and love them. They didn't like issues with past Samsung phones and switched to Apple, but Other brands like OnePlus changed there minds and they're back to Android's. My S9+ hasn't given me any issues, but I remember freezing issues with my old Galaxy S1, but that was also 5 years later. Lol

Haha please. The listed price of the S10 is €899. Even the S10e is €749.
If we want to calculate promos, sales, trade ins, etc, then anything is fair game. I can just claim any phone is free for me since somebody else bought it and gave me. :p
The entry level S10 plus is £899 for 128GB of storage. The entry level Xs max is £1099. These are retail prices. Apple are charging £200 more, there's nothing to argue about.

What’s better gear and what is the metric that one decides on what is better?

This was funny to watch. The most half baked bias review ever. Did not even touch on some of the great feature/price/storage of the S10+ vs iPhone. Not a one handed device? It is a lot better than iPhone in terms of utilizing the entire bezel to reduce overall size. It's okay to admit Apple is no longer a innovator but a greedy and copy machine. Sticking to my iPhone 7 Plus until Apple brings something to the table worth while.

.

Samsung S10 plus is really great mobile!

Been to a retail shop and saw it! Display is like real stuff with Gorilla Glass 6 with retail mode with one of the great looking screens ever. I initially thought it was a dummy piece with paper sticker as display! Though the entire piece looks plastiky while holding, but they sort of feel like it is etched as a single piece slab than assembled in parts so much integrated feel!

Front camera looks amazingly clear in the retail shop lighting conditions. Didn't check the IDFPR and overall performance (EXYNOS Processor)...

I am not planning to buy this obviously as I just now got Note 9 which is equally good. But those coming from S6 and even S7 world, this is clear path for upgrade. Though it is certainly feel different than S9+ I wouldn't suggest upgrade unless you get 75% discount on S9+ price for exchange.

Certainly, S10 plus can't sustainable selling large quantities at this price range, in couple of months you can expect price correction which would probably allow you to poke around for possible purchase...

Very different situations between you and I. Personally, I don't want anything to do with a traditional PC. I prefer iOS and use an iPad Pro and iPhone exclusively. I think Mac's are overpriced and I think Windows machines are garbage as well. I have moved on from those two OS's completely. Being able to do everything I need for work and personal use from the iPad Pro has been a very freeing experience. iOS requires zero upkeep, I have all the apps I need, overall costs are lower to me than a traditional PC, everything is instant in terms of performance, collaboration with my team has improved, and I love the extreme portability it brings. The tasks at hand are one thing, but I look at the overall experience of using the device. I just enjoy using an iPad Pro more than any other computer that I have used. Ultimately, it just comes down to preference and I prefer iOS. Everybody is different and that's okay.

Not all PC’s are garbage as for many use cases like my job, a Mac couldn’t do it due to software limitations. For my phone, watch and tablet Apple are king in my eyes or for my uses at least.

To be fair though most tasks can be accomplished on both platforms but we choose which one we prefer.

The thing is that a Windows PC cant be garbage. Both Macs and Windows PC'S use same Hardware. Intel is Intel. Even RAM and SSD'S are same. ZZAlso why are we comparing iOS to Windows. iOS is mobile. My 5 year old processor in my PC has no slow down what so ever. I use it to edit videos and Photos and high end gaming. I can have multiple videos and tabs running and use maybe 20% of my processor.

I'm sure like most customers I encountered, that you purchased a low end PC because of price. Mac for years only sold it Mac's with SSD'S (Which makes os run fast and smooth). Apple was smart on how to fool people into believing they can only make that magic happen. My moms 3 year old i5 Acer with 256GB SSD is still lightning fast till this day!

Out of interest, do some of you guys view iOS vs Android like people view a football team? It’s almost like an allegiance where any shortcoming of one or the other is celebrated like a mini victory? I ask this as a user who doesn’t overly care outside of my own preferences.
Yup, you pretty much summed it up.

A bit off-topic but windows 10 killed my 3 year old high-end laptop. Needless to say I am not a fan of windows 10. Windows 7, to me is the benchmark.

Funny enough, years ago, I did. After all, being an Arsenal supporter and beating Liverpool at home in December 2017 (I was at the game) was just brilliant :) (sorry, couldn't help it)

But, now, I see Android and Apple, as choices. The individual merely chooses one, or in fact, choose/use both. I use both, but have more iOS gadgets than Android.

I am also one of those that don't believe one can comment or review something, without using it first.
So, there's that...
