Who can really validate the testing?

For one thing, having owned Android phones, they always slow down after 6 months and are rarely updated.

Benchmarks are unbiased. If people continually do speed tests for YouTube views, I have very little faith in their methodology, bias tendencies, and overall technique. There are tons of iPhone videos crushing Android phones too.
Show us one of the XS beating the S10. Okay fine let's you benchmark since it's unbiased. The S10 blows the XS out of the water on Antutu. Benchmark are pointless.

You need to educate yourself on how ram works, i can link a video that explains it if you like? Android itself is inefficient but the way it handles ram management is quite the contrary.

The benchmarks between the a12 and 855 are not that far apart and in real world testing the s10 is faster as proven by various speed test videos.
Which various speed tests? The one where the guy said the apps were crashing?

Face ID can be fooled with twins. It's happened on this site. Face ID has a margin of error so it doesn't lock you out if your facial hair changes or something fairly drastic.

I've got two siblings. We're varied in age. We more or less resemble one another. I can unlock both their iPhones. Pins, 8 character minimum, is the most secure.
Ok. But most people don’t have an identical twin.

https://bgr.com/2019/02/20/galaxy-s10-vs-iphone-xs-infinity-o-is-great-but-i-still-want-face-id/

Tell that to my iPhone's that have bricked on the new updates or totally lost functionality with native apps until a full restore.

Ok. Sorry you had problems. Millions and millions of us love our iPhone and IOS. Good luck.

Wasn’t that the video where the guy said the apps kept crashing and filming was difficult?
Its the one where a unreleased phone with apps that were not yet optimised for the hardware was faster then the XS that is running at its peak and is fully optimised. If I was an Apple fan this would actually concern me.

List of XS Max over s10+
- more expensive
:p

===================================

List of S10+ over XS max

Hardware - Higher resolution WQHD+ display with max 1200nits brightness (vs 700 for xs)
- Headphone jack
- in screen Fingerprint
- Dual SIM card
- MicroSD card support (up to 1.5TB)
- Built-in heart rate/SP02 sensor
- USB/UTG
- HDMI out - supports full 4K screen output to TV
- LED Notification Light
- Dual Front camera / Triple rear camera

Connectivity
- WIFI Display (or miracast) built-in. Mirror phone screen to any wifi-capable TV without any additional setup/intermediate hardware (like apple tv). Coupled with a wireless mouse/keyboard via UTG to phone then you have pseudo-desktop.
- DLNA built-in support : stream music/video to any DLNA enabled devices without needing any setup.
- SIDESYNC : operate phone from any PC/mac within wifi network. Phone screen appears as a virtual window in PC/mac. You can use PC mouse/speaker/mic to make calls or continue an editing session or run any apps in the phone from the PC. Similar to Iphone hand-off/continuity but more flexible.
- DEX - transform phone into a full desktop experience.
- Transfer any files between ANY devices via Wifi-Direct / BT. No additional setup/hardware requirement.
- Plug in portable disk/thumbdrive/mouse/gamepad directly to phone using usb cable. Quickly transfer out your files/photos/videos. Or just play a video off your portable drive. Or use a gamepad to play games. Or use mouse to interact with phone.
- Play music to 2 different sound devices via BT 5.0 (e.g. share music to 2 BT headsets). Also set individual app to specific sound source e.g. waze to always output sound to phone speakers and music players to BT. Using sound assistant you can set up different sound profiles depending on situations. Use Adapt Sound to fine tune sound to match you.
- Samsung Pay - can be used at more outlets (since it supports both NFC and magnetic strip)
- File System: something fundamental that we have been using (that's missing from Iphone).
- VR headset support - a whole new experience for you to explore
- Samsung Flow - to connect/integrate with Windows eco-system. Samsung version of apple continuity
- Download Booster - combine both LTE and Wifi download simultaneously

OS / Software

-AOD - always on display. simple and yet very useful. Plus you can theme it as well.
-Multi-Window - run apps in separate top/bottom windows or popup windows simultaneously. e.g continue to view you tube while you are doing a whatsapp chat.
- Secure Folder - it is like a second login environment. It has a separate copy of system settings. You can install second copy of your app here and it runs in its own seperate data space. e.g. you can concurrently run 2 copies of whatsapp (one for work number and the other personal) and get notify at the same time. Or setup another Exchange account to sync work email which is only viewable in secure folder.
- Game launcher - a separate environment to launch games. You can set sound, notify on/off, no accidental touches, boost performance etc -
-Immersive mode - set the top status or bottom navigation (or both) to auto-hide to maximise screen area. Can set exclusion for certain apps. Can have floating panel with home, back, task buttons for easy one handed use.
-Set default app - you can set your own app to be default app to open different kind of files/data. Or change the soft keyboard.
-Shortcut - create shortcuts to anything: one touch direct dial/sms, directly open battery usage in Settings, open specific screen of an app directly etc. Place shortcuts anywhere - in homescreen, notification, side panel etc.
-Home/Launcher - fully customizable with themes, widgets, icon packs and live wallpapers - no more boring grid of icons. You can also use other launchers as well. Personalize your UI anyway you like.
- Smart Lock - auto unlock when phone is connected to certain pre-specified locations (incl BT/Wifi/geo locations)
-Side panels - customizable with many useful add-on panels as well.
-Samsung Health - you can have widget to show your steps, measure your heart rate/sp02/stress, track your workouts all using the phone only.
-Play/App Store: Many app stores to choose from. You can also side-load apps giving you more flexibilities and cost benefits.
-Other Niceties - (1) record phone calls. (2) smart stay to keep screen on while you are looking at it. (3) Screen recorder to record what's happening on screen (4) answer call by pressing volume key (5) reduce UI size for one handed use (6) take continuous screen shot (7) flip phone over to mute call (8) quickly launch camera by double press power button (9) wave hand in front to wake up device (10)

Automation

There are unlimited possibilities with Android multi-tasking capability. You can setup tasks which the phone can do automatically for you. This opens up quite a lot of use cases NOT possible with Iphone. Some examples you can have running in your phone.
- auto set ring/network profile depending on situations (at home/work/outdoors)
- auto send SMS when near pickup location (great if you pick up someone regularly)
- redirect important calls to covering when you are engaged.
- start call recording when calls from certain persons.
- auto change wallpaper based on events. - mute/unmute ring based on calendar meetings.
- timed ring profile.
- tap on NFC sticker - initiated certain tasks.
- auto send canned SMS to birthday
- pull files from certain ftp/http locations to phone periodically or when certain parameters changed
- selective sync from cloud storage to local folders
- auto start/close apps when certain app is started.
- start music app when headphone is plug in - start certain app(s) on phone remotely or using a SMS.
-set screen to landscape when certain apps are launched.
-auto read out received sms/whatsapp under certain preset conditions like driving/phone turned over/etc
- and many many more.

I wanna hear him say reverse wireless charging is a "party trick" when it come to the iPhone.

Seriously, there is nothing gimmicky about the fact that I can leave my Samsung smartwatch charging stand at home when I travel for more than a couple days. I can even top it off while on a flight. The same can be said for the free Galaxy Buds I'm getting.

Connectivity
- WIFI Display (or miracast) built-in. Mirror phone screen to any wifi-capable TV without any additional setup/intermediate hardware (like apple tv).

If you have a Samsung SmartTV. You can mirror the TV to the Phone. I'm able to do that on my S9+ One UI. They had that feature before, but took it away, and now it's back. :D

Automation

The new Bixby update allows you to map the Bixby button not only to other apps, but to a command tasks as well. You choose to single or double press.

The A12 is so fast, you don't even notice the difference between the two. Lol. That whole faster, faster, crap is a marketing gimmick. But hey if loading Instagram and sending emojis 1 millisecond (if that) faster gets you going, who am I to tell you different

Android? Nope. No thanks. I like software that works. Android is still a mess and a security risk. Less than no interest.

So.....you're wrong on two levels but let's go with the relevant mistake .. you're grouping Samsung in with the rest of the Android community and that's a mistake. . the Samsung Knox security software that comes with every Samsung device for the past 5+ years is the strongest mobile security out there winning more awards then any other mobile security in the market .
And as for the article itself . They passed over Samsung's Iris scanner which not only works faster than face ID it is more accurate when tested under repeat unlocks. Also Iris unlock allows the users face to be covered , so in the winter when you are wearing a scarf or when you ski and have a face mask you can still use your eyes to get in .

So the answer is yes and why would an “Apple fan” be concerned? My max is a joy to use and will have updates through iOS 16.

EverythingApplPro turned off animations and even his test showed the iPhone beating the S10. Ok, beating in round 2 (where more RAM should have helped the S10) and tying overall.

He also pointed out the Samsung constantly crashed and he had trouble filming the test. It seems he actually mostly likely was using an iPhone that had somewhat throttled. Maybe the S10 would have also throttled if it wouldn’t have just crashed all the time. These are all things we don’t know and why these tests aren’t very credible or relevant. The iPhone beats the S10 in Antutu and is a verifiable fact.

His Antutu test was super low and frankly, wrong.

Comments like these humor me ALWAYS! As an iPhone user myself I have to ask what security risk are there associated with Google/Android platform? Celebrities iCloud get hacked into daily and their private pics are plastered all over the net. FaceTime just had a very intrusive flaw exposed recently. Just say you don't like Android and it will be more respected.
iCloud is hacked daily? This is news. You can’t seriously ask if iOS is more secure through and through than Android?

Late last year I made the decision to jump ship and leave years of Apple loyalty and purchased the S9.
I lasted 2 days before sending it back to Samsung and instead upgraded my iPhone 6S to the XS.

When friends asked what happened I told them this - the problem with Samsung is it’s software. I told them that it’s as if I’ve bought the latest Porsche, which to everyone looks great on the outside, but once I get into that car and I’m on my own, I look at the interior and I want to cry. It’s clunky, bloated and ugly.

The S9 (and now S10) are similar. Gorgeous on the outside but inside, boy oh boy (shudder)

You got that in 2 days, I normally give iOS about 6 months. The problem I found is I always look at iOS in comparison to Android which I've been a user of since 2009-2010, Android is something I'm use to, when I switch to iOS it's a whole new and limited experience compared to Android and it completely throws me off, I then go back to Android. I almost switched to the XS Max and this time I said I won't compare both but try and find the strengths in iOS instead of looking at what it can't do compared to Android. I never got the XS but if I do go iPhone a 3rd time I will completely put my Android down and make no comparison, use iOS to it's full capability then decide what I like.
You'll never switch because you're used to iOS and when you try something new you'll always come in with a bias and compare it to iOS. It's not!

The Samsung fan boy club is down the hall, to your left.

Funny how it doesn't translate into real life. Cause on his video, apps were loading faster than the iPhone. ;)
Apple’s lead in silicon is probably not going to be as apparent until the next frontier in mobile computing, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t worth doing. The chips are more powerful, but launching individual web based apps isn’t really what differentiates them.

For now, the benefits are more future proofing and come from the longevity of the phone, being more usable over time, overall smoothness of operation, consistency, stability, etc.

Apple’s chips are clearly advancing faster than the current use case calls for, but you can’t just jump to where you need to be when that time comes.

I millisecond :p
In that speed test, it looks more like a few seconds faster to load most apps on s10.

Paying huge premium for unknown something that doesn't exist...future proof :p

The 855 isn't not that far behind the A12, the gap is closing each year. The law of diminishing returns is already starting to show. You can only get a chip so small.

It not just web based apps. It's most games too. Android and Samsung, have become pretty much neck to neck with Apple when it comes to optimization. This is not about raw power anymore, but more of which CPU is delivering better instructions.

How much is the S10?

The A12 is in a $749 model.

It’s pretty far behind on single core tasks, according to benchmarks. How Apple can parlay that into a lead in the next mobile computing product is up to them, but it’s ahead. Apple’s neural engine is also ahead, by quite a bit.

Apple also makes an A12X which is even faster.
