Samsung has no originality. They steal everything from apple! Sheesh.. No creativity, no innovation no vision. Just copy copy copy.

If and when Apple comes out with their iWatch, they should just replay an abbreviated version of the Samsung commercial and then 15 seconds of showing the sleekness, the longer battery life, and greater functionality of theirs. Then fade to black...tagline: "It's time."

This is not some unique ad that Samsung copied from Apple. It's been done for ages. I recall seeing Coke and Pepsi ads where they string along lots of movie and TV scenes highlighting their products. Instead of being an Apple fanboy and giving Apple credit for inventing the wheel, or calling Samsung out for coping, lets just take a step back and realize that it's been done many times before.

Both ads are good, although I'll give the Samsung the credit of being better, simply because that ad tries to look towards the future, while the Apple one looks at the past. I'll deduct points for the Samsung ad because the clip from Babylon 5 was not fully accurate as they didn't use watches on that show to communicate. They used an adhesive communicator attached to the back of the palm, not a wrist watch.

I'm sorry I don't see the 'copy' when it comes to the commercial. Actually the Samsung video is more pointed as it draws on a history of fictional wearable communication were the Apple 2007 one just has a lot of clips of people saying hello to phones, many of which are decidedly very old Cord phones.

Sadly however the sWatch that Samsung is selling still seems too big. And actually like they too the 'publics' idea of strapping a thicker iPod Nano to your wrist + bulbous camera. If we want to talk about copying lets start there, with consumers taking devices and being creative with them... although not really cause deep down those first 'iWatch' hackers just wanted to have a movie spay watch :p.

Personally I ain't got anything in this fight as I can't stand wrist watches in general and would likely just turn it into a pocket watch... which is my phone or iPod Touch anyways.

This Apple v Samsung polarization is getting as bad as the Rep v Dem polarization these days. It's off-putting really. Why is there such a large segment of our population that subscribes to the "my team is the best and your team sucks" mantra? Some folks need a hero and a villain to distract them from their own mundane lives I guess.

I neither hate nor love Samsung. I'm not really interested in buying any of their watches...but they sure do make some damn good TVs!

TV's aside, it has nothing to do with "teams". It's the brazen copying, lying and hypocrisy. Folks don't like it when someone cheats...plain and simple.

Samsung is pathetic!

Yup. Whether you prefer iOS or Android, AT LEAST Buy American!

Look - I live in the USA as well. But you do realize that the internet is available around the world, right? So that means there are people NOT in America who might not give a rats behind where their phone is made. I'm guessing if the are in parts of Asia- they would prefer HTC, Samsung and other manufacturers.

well they'll claim they came out with a watch first then copy whatever apple brings out after.

seriously that thing is scary!! - Those days sure a watch like this will be awesome but after using the nano on your wrist - PLEASE!

I would argue that (at least to several on here) that Samsung wouldn't be able to do anything because anything they would do would be considered "copying" - which this ad is not. Sorry. It's not. But clearly people bring all their collective baggage from other threads and news stories and apply it across the board.

But people do like an enemy, now don't they

If you are going to rip off Apple's classic commercial for god's sakes at least have a decent product to back it up.

Has anyone noticed that the YouTube embeds on the front page are muted by default? It has been annoying me for a couple of days now! Is there a way to turn that off?
I have noticed that. Very annoying!

The Samsung ad is a clear but poor copy (like their smart phones) IMHO but we can agree to disagree.

Agreed that folks like an enemy...as well as an underdog.

However most folks have little to no respect for those that cheat (lie, steal, etc.) to get their way and then claim to have never even seen the chocolate ice cream when their face is covered with it. They are the "enemy", except to those that have the same lack of a moral compass...again, IMHO of course. ;)
