I'm not 100% certain, but I suspect product updates work on Californian time, so that they can be announced from Apple HQ, in which case they won't be for a while yet as it's only 04:46 in Cupertino right now! ;)

naaah, if there is an updat 2day, it has 2 b within the next 35 min. after that, sorry folks

Sadly it seems as if it will not happen today. What an immense dissapointment. Upgraded mac pros and macbooks, apple tv, coloured shuffles, 2007 has been really busy. :( :(

Come on Mr Jobs. I am ready! My credit card is primed, my PC laptop on ebay, and I'm ready to make the full conversion over to Mac, I just won't do it till the MBP's are updated!

Three weeks is forever if you want it today ;)

Hence the screaming at the end of my post. I've been waiting since probably Jan. or Feb. for this update (I'm heading to college this fall, so I figured I ought to wait until closer to fall to get a new laptop). Grrr...

For the record, we'll almost definitely not see anything until WWDC now, because I highly doubt Apple would update something like the MBP within 2 weeks of WWDC.

That's crazy. Even 6 weeks would be a lot of waiting. Then again, perhaps you have not yet really *needed* a new computer this year? If you need one, you buy one; except, never buy anything before WWDC unless that product has just been updated.

Point being, 6 months ago MBP was fairly new revision. If you needed one back then you should have been fine with it had you bought one.

If they're like me, the Macbook Pro didn't meet their needs 6 months ago any more than it does now. I've been waiting since July or August of last year for either Dell or Apple to update...

What was missing in a MBP a year ago? Now that I'm waiting for the LED screens, it seems so irrelevant to expect superdrive speed bumb to 8x or double the VRAM size or slightly newer GPU version. Or minor CPU speed bump, or slighly faster FSB. Compared to the LED screen, anything else would have to be HUGE to get me excited.

If I had been buying a new laptop a year ago, I would not chosen the waiting game. LED screens however... ;)

I'm waiting for Leopard ...... doesn't seem that other people are fussed about that.

OMG I'm so disappointed. I have to order a MBP today for a job I need next week. I absolutely HATE that the MBP I order today will be out of date by WDDC.

*SIGH* Usually I'm excited for new hardware, this time it feels like I'm getting a bad deal.
